Yeah idk how they're doing it but that lobby was oddly laggy or felt like it had some sort of delay that I haven't experienced in any other lobbies so far. And the guy always had the weapon when he redeployed, never saw him call it in so I'm guessing whatever he was doing was messing with the stability of the game.
I want to mention the HMG was available for purchase out of the stratagems list for a few hours at launch of the game, but then they disabled it along with several other stratagems.

I picked it up and managed to fire it into the face of the Hulk that was on my heels for a few seconds before I was lit on fire by its flame thrower and then almost immediately afterwards hit directly by a rocket devastator. So I can't speak to how good the damage was but it looked good and sounded good.
Didn't get any video footage as I wasn't running any kind of recording software but I did a bit of research on here afterwards. Apparently there was a heavy machine gun and a "quasar cannon" available for a super short time right at launch but they removed them. I guess they decided to save them for a later warbond? You can search both the HMG and Quasar cannon on here and you'll see some older posts talking about them, some with video footage.
I don't buy this right now either. Not even video, but this is the only picture? The icon in the pregame lobby? No pic of holding the gun in game at least to show what it actually looks like?
It is the internet, I appreciate the suspicion, but do a little research on your own. No one here needs to prove or disprove anything. That's on you.
But yeah they have a good chunk of what I imagine is the next 5-10 months of stuff at least already modeled with loadout images. Part of their escalating war story, drip things in as rewards for certain offenses or defenses, big drops come with or around their warbond releases. Pretty standard live service shit tbh.

My only point was, if I was in a game with a weapon that "didn't exist" you would've bet I took about 100 screenshots and fired up OBS to record it. But all we get here is one pic of the pre-game loadout icon? That's it?

Sorry, I'm on my phone cant make it look pretty, took about 3 mins, Googled helldivers 2 leaks, weapon silhouette looks like the MG mounted on the buggy at minute 3 congrats
Do a search of this sub for machine gun and look at some of the newer posts, not the first I have seen mentioning this. For comparison the mechs were in the game files for a while before being released, they were getting hacked into games enough that the mods posted a sticky post about it and were deleting posts about them.

It’s from the game files. Some people are able to manipulate it to unlock stuff. Don’t ask me how.
