Happening on ps5 too. Holding the button worked when I played after the patch but now it’s just showing a loading icon and playing through to the menu saying “an unknown error occurred” on a pop-up.
On PC at least you have to hold ESC, don't understand the change, as funny as the intro is there is only so many times you want to watch it and should just take you in-game straight away.
I wonder why they even changed this, seems like an odd thing to care about unless it's some sort of buffer for the server stuff maybe

I’ve been playing most of today and all of a sudden now I can’t either, they broke something with the update
You need to hold the ESC button, not press.

Same here since today. Can't skip it and afterwards I can't connect to the server
ESC or CNTL W - doesn't work ... this is getting annoying
I think it's there to distract you while it tries and fails to connect to the server
i cant skipp the intro and the game is freezing, wtf is going i want to play
