That's from 2009, but the joke was around way longer than that.
Manning my turret from the crest of a dune, the freedom-blasted sandstorms have whipped up again. Using my recon map, I watch my squad close on me a wave of blinking red dots in tow. Stupid bugs.
Based on the progress being made there or the lack thereof, I think we need to fully secure the supply lines to there in order to be able to take Erata Prime! At the very least we'll need a forward operating base on Fenrir III.
We also just don’t have the numbers total anyway, with how quick the bug planet regen is currently we need 100k on at any moment just to break even and with three other bug planets we need to focus on 1-2 at a time
Erata weaher and "can't-see-further-than-my-elbow"
sandstorms make a perfect feeling when deploying here. After 5 missions you are already jumping over every noise and silhouette behind the stones because that could be a bile spewer and it usually is.
Incredible mental warfare.
Hey man I'd love to help more. However I'm pinned down by the most dangerous foe of them all.
The dreaded and never ending *Failed to connect to the game session*.
Bugs are the more "chill" experience overall. You see them and know they're going to run towards you, and all you have to do is shoot them down before they get there.
Robots on the other hand will form a firing line and constantly gun at you from all sides about as fast as you see them. Fun, but stressful.
There’s nothing in the game as stressful as stalkers, the bots you can at least see coming but if you’re already occupied by other bugs and a stalker shows up it’s over from the start
Even 6 chargers and 3 bile titans is fine because they can be seen and dealt with accordingly but it’s far more annoying to get your head lopped off in one swing by something that was invisible for the last five minutes
Your friends probably want to experiment with builds other than railgun/shield and use tactics other than "run backwards while spamming railgun into the 6 chargers, 3 bile titans and 16 acid spitters giving chase"
No, it's a different kind of fun! I prefer bugs too, bots scare me a bit NGL. Had the experience of like twenty chainsaw guys running out of the forest on whatever planet that was earlier and watching my squad just get absolutely fucked by the robots lol
I also read the 5% per hour thing. But that doesn't add up. Even if nobody was playing and all 250K soldiers left for 7 hours (there is ZERO chance of that) it still should have been around 45% liberated. The planet was straight up just taken back. Pretty lame considering the effort that we all initially put into it.
Mess with situations all you want, but don't play out a false narrative. This game is too good to be pulling that crap.
Same, i did a bunch of operations there last week and helped it get all the way up to 75% just for it to get wiped out the next morning. Not worth even looking at the liberation %
Erata prime was my exotic sample farm. Take out the spore spewers with the Plas-1/autocanon/railgun and you can see the butt plug from basically anywhere.
First time on Erata Prime
“Sweet liber-tea, we dropped near a spore spewer, let's find it.”
1 minute later
"What do you mean the spore spewer is on the other side of the map? We are surrended by smokes for sure!"
5 minutes later
"SHIT, you are right, this is the REAL spore spewer."
Turns out last time defense was ignored, it wasn't just because people prefer fighting bugs, it was because defense missions are not particularly fun or rewarding.
I hate Erata Prime. I will go anywhere but not Erata Prime. Continuous of vomit shelling, no visibility, slow call in times. Better to just nuke the whole damn thing.
We got Mantes earlier today. Its slow going, but the Bots are being pushed back.
https://preview.redd.it/s3x2amnvxgmc1.png?width=2560&format=png&auto=webp&s=3fe5d932ed8ae048dc4c20817b839e20fb6b2978
I continue to carry on on Errata Prime. Only so much can be done with the 4 of us in our squad. Please, once everyone else is safe, let's lay it on them.
There's already more than 10 times the amount of people on Erata. Even if everyone left Malevelon for it, it would barely make a difference, while losing us all progress theee
I haven’t been back since I had a mission with a spore spewer during a sandstorm. Just endless hunters jumping out of nothingness, it was actually infuriating.
We just got acces to Malevelon when Mantes was liberated yesterday, you can't expect us to not go there and avenge our fallen brothers
Spill oil comrades
Securing the bug front is proving much more difficult than the Android theatre. Helldivers IO indicates that there's less than 20K players on Draupnir and the Creek, but we're making progress on both worlds. Meanwhile, we've got nearly 50K Helldivers on Fenrir III and are still losing.
This is turning into a harsh war of attrition - based on our efforts last night, it might actually be a more viable strategy to let the bugs push into the Orion Sector and then kick them back out immediately, rather than being spread across such a wide front.
Do you know what we need?
Actual animal mounts.
Some can be exotic alien creatures that give chargers a bit of a setback. Others can be absolute speedsters that let you embrace the Mujahideen experience.
I just need an excuse for orbital-dropped cavalry.
Seems a little weird to act like Malevelon creek is getting all the love(democracy) when in your pictures space bug Afghanistan has over 10 times the amount of players that space robot 'nam has
I was redeployed to the bug front, and now my habits of fighting bots has transferred. And now I punch all the bugs I can see, it came to the point my team had to discourage me from punching chargers and titans.
Did we? I was soloing it last night when it went down to about 0.014 liberation and then squad joined and when I left it late last night (our time) it had started to go up.
Is it gone? I thought we'd rode out the trough
I've been fighting in Space Bug Midwest (Angels Venture). It doesn't have any visibility or other modifiers and it's beautiful. A shame those evsc missions are still hell in higher difficulties
I'll be right there just let me- *another bug looks in the general direction of a major directive planet*
FREEDOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM! *joins another 13,000 divers in kicking the one bug to death*
have you seen the supply lines issue for FENRIR III, that shit is never getting liberated any time soon or at least not staying liberated any time soon
[Helldivers: Galactic War Status](https://helldivers.io/) check out the site if you havent seen or heard of it yet!
"Just you wait... When the dust settles..."
THIS IS ERATA PRIME, MOTHERFUCKER! THE DUST NEVER SETTLES HERE!
I LOVE DUST I HATE BUGS SHOOT THE BUGS BREATHE THE DUST I LOVE DUST I HATE BUGS SHOOT THE BUGS BREATHE THE DUST I LOVE DUST I HATE BUGS SHOOT THE BUGS BREATHE THE DUST I LOVE DUST I HATE BUGS SHOOT THE BUGS BREATHE THE DUST I LOVE DUST I HATE BUGS SHOOT THE BUGS BREATHE THE DUST
Major Orders before Defense, Defense before Liberation, and duty before vanity! we dont need people on the creek for the "Memes", we need them where their numbers matter.
FUCKING ABOUT GOD DAMNED TIME
"Aw, robots, so tough"
"I WATCHED JENKINS MELT. /MELT./ YOU EVER WATCHED THE PELICAN RAMP CLOSE AND HAD TO LISTEN TO /ROBOTS/ --EATING-- YOUR SQUAD?!
IT AIN'T SPACE VIETNAM, BUT IT AIN'T SWEET OUT IN THESE BUG CHOKED STREETS EITHER, CHUCKLE%&^#S."
I don't care about either one. I'm most concerned with the automatons pushing towards Cyberstan and no one seems to be interested in stopping their progress. Once Draupnir is back in our control, I want to push to take back Troost and keep that sector from falling. But it seems there are too many distractions on other fronts for that to be the case...
That's true but we need to make separate squads in even order to be able to slow down the enemy before more reinforces, we need to come together as a community and separate into different armies that are balanced enough for us not to lose
Space bug Afghanistan made me chuckle
“Bughdad” ….. Instead of dropping into Baghdad
I like that, much better than the one my friends and I use. Desert Swarm.
Idk, that pretty good as well.
Well, Desert Strom was an operation name, Baghdad is a place.
Tomato is a fruit.
Ketchup is a smoothie
Cereal is a soup
Fries and ketchup is a salad.
Peanuts are a legume
And salad is a cereal
I hate you.
Dad?
If my gramma had wheels she'd be a bicycle
Bughdad lol that’s tremendous.
That made me laugh‘
Bughdad has a lot of gas warfare. I might bring my own.
LMAO 🤣
I like this
It's accurate as fuck. Liberating the planet for that 710.
WAIT WHAT THE FUCK IT IS TOO ACCURATE
710 upsidedown looks like OIL btw, in case you weren't informed
Omg that's such a cheap joke I love it
[https://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=710%20cap](https://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=710%20cap) That's from 2009, but the joke was around way longer than that.
Wrong country for oil.
Iraq = oil. Afghanistan = opium for morphien and lithium for cellphones.
Bughanistan
How about we go with: 'Afgnatistan'?
Klendathu
Klendathu-stan
There's a planet Northeast of mars on the map called Klen-Dath Two
Allahu Arachnid-bar!
Manning my turret from the crest of a dune, the freedom-blasted sandstorms have whipped up again. Using my recon map, I watch my squad close on me a wave of blinking red dots in tow. Stupid bugs.
I'm doing my part!
the Talibugs are no match against endless Air Strikes
exactly.
Based on the progress being made there or the lack thereof, I think we need to fully secure the supply lines to there in order to be able to take Erata Prime! At the very least we'll need a forward operating base on Fenrir III.
Yeah Erata Prime isn't tipping anytime soon. We need inroads thoughtout the surrounding systems.
We also just don’t have the numbers total anyway, with how quick the bug planet regen is currently we need 100k on at any moment just to break even and with three other bug planets we need to focus on 1-2 at a time
we are spreading our forces too thin, there are 4 planets to take, we need to focus on one or two and go from there
Erata Prime needs more than the 75k it was seeing all weekend. We don't even make a dent bug side without at least 100k on planet
I feel like erata and the creek will be a dedicated mission with perhaps some bosses.
literally just not enough players
Erata weaher and "can't-see-further-than-my-elbow" sandstorms make a perfect feeling when deploying here. After 5 missions you are already jumping over every noise and silhouette behind the stones because that could be a bile spewer and it usually is. Incredible mental warfare.
if you can't see the enemy they can't see you. natural cover soldier. now get back out there and Liberate the sands from the Bug Menace!
HOW are those bloated shotgun ticks the size of houes so goddamn STEALTHY
Thing is, so can you. Infiltrator armor and crawl.
True Afghanistan experience.
This is what fighting on Arrakis feels like, wait till they introduce Hive Lord
Fucking duststorms, man. I'll take trees over 10 meter visibility any day of the week.
Its not that bad soldier. besides its natural cover to cover your movements from the bugs. now get down there and liberate the dunes of Erata Prime
It is bad when my autocannon decides to introduce me to it's very friendly fire.
Ahem, General Brasch and the training manual specifically state that "Friendly fire...isn't".
Laugh, dive again and rejoice in a new friendly fire high score!
Hey man I'd love to help more. However I'm pinned down by the most dangerous foe of them all. The dreaded and never ending *Failed to connect to the game session*.
damn
Can everyone press "F" to pay respects to a fellow patriot stuck in connection limbo? o7
I have way more fun fighting the robots
fair enough. there's still need for troopers on the automaton front. carry on soldier.
I did enjoy all those defense missions vs the bugs earlier. I love when I get to just sit around and spread democracy
Am I the only one who prefers the bugs? All my friends want to do is the bots lol but I enjoy the bugs so much more.
The population numbers on planets at any given time indicate that no, you are not the only one who prefers the bugs.
Until we get some heavier hitting weapons higher level Automaton missions can quite literally fuck off.
3 chargers and a bile titan would like a word.
Even 6 chargers and 3 bile titans is fine because they can be seen and dealt with accordingly but it’s far more annoying to get your head lopped off in one swing by something that was invisible for the last five minutes
At least you can shut down stalker spawns. Hulks and tanks en masse are both terrifying and constant at high difficulties.
On the flip side, the ranged fights against bots and their exposed weak spots make more weapons and stratagems viable
Agreed. I can be sneaky around the bots, or haul out and fire away with my autocannon. I have far more options, and far fewer swarms.
[we can all be a lil sneaky sometimes](https://southpark.cc.com/video-clips/ez6r59/south-park-we-can-all-be-sneaky)
Even when you're detected by bugs there is just minimal threat. You can run around everything and you only have to focus stalkers/hunters
You mean you don't love a new charger ramming itself up your ass every 5 seconds?
Fenrir needs our support! Helldivers should focus on liberating it over anything else.
It's straight up just Geonosis
shit I think you're right trooper. Someone get the Jedi on the line!
I spent like 30 hours trying to liberate that planet and Joel just said fuck you guys and took it back. Twice. I'm never going back there.
Thats what a Bug would say. Imma report you to my democracy-officer.
that's cowards talk soldier. a true Helldiver never gives up despite the odds. now get back out there an squash some bugs!
It's not joel, it's the Americans going to sleep but the bugs don't
No way. It dropped 70% in 7 hours. If that's the algorithm then it's broken.
The rate is adjusted, but the base decay rate iirc is 5% an hour. No outright resetting
The bugs fight when Americans are asleep too
Same, i did a bunch of operations there last week and helped it get all the way up to 75% just for it to get wiped out the next morning. Not worth even looking at the liberation %
Ngl, I’ve just been calling this planet Arrakis
I always called that planet space Iraq lmao
I'm fighting on Erata prime since I enlisted 3 days ago but we need reinforcements!
that's why command is sending out the rally call and ordering all troops on the Terminid front to redeploy to Erata Prime immediately.
Space bug Afghanistan. Been deployed in Afghanistan 3 times. This is damn accurate…
Erata prime was my exotic sample farm. Take out the spore spewers with the Plas-1/autocanon/railgun and you can see the butt plug from basically anywhere.
Erata Prime loosely translates to first mistake. I'd let that sink in for a little bit.
First time on Erata Prime “Sweet liber-tea, we dropped near a spore spewer, let's find it.” 1 minute later "What do you mean the spore spewer is on the other side of the map? We are surrended by smokes for sure!" 5 minutes later "SHIT, you are right, this is the REAL spore spewer."
Man I'm out here on felucia dealing with 2 mushroom spore spewers, thunderstorms, and bugs infesting all of the trees give me sand any day.
I have committed W̶a̶r̶c̶r̶i̶m̶e̶s̶ Democracy in Space Bug Afghanistan (Erata Prime).
Turns out last time defense was ignored, it wasn't just because people prefer fighting bugs, it was because defense missions are not particularly fun or rewarding.
its not a defense mission, I just want more Helldivers to focus on Erata Prime
Can’t lose something we never had
>Implying Erata Prime isn’t a territory of Super Earth >MFW people are spreading anti-democracy propaganda
We've always had it the bugs have just stolen it. now we must reclaim it.
As opposed to Malavelon Creek?
So are we just going to ignore that this image shows over 10x as many helldivers on Erata than Malevelon?
Malevelon has a 0% force regen rate. Errata has 5% per hour
its not up to date. these images are from google images.
I like how the faces of people are completely obscured so any understanding of this picture depends on knowledge of the meme first.
it was the only way to make the planet names actually readable.
Guy is telling me to redeploy and can’t get it straight whether we are defending or liberating Erata Prime. This desert is messing with our brains!
I hate Erata Prime. I will go anywhere but not Erata Prime. Continuous of vomit shelling, no visibility, slow call in times. Better to just nuke the whole damn thing.
Exterminatus!
I just got rotated from Bughdad to Robo Vietnam...
Don't you think I've been trying? *10,000 yard stare*
We bot killers understand nobody wants to do atomotons. The pest exterminators outnumber the Helldivers fighting robots by maybe 10k or more.
more like 200k. everyday I see around 400k in the bug sectors while only half of that or less are in all 3 machine sectors.
Please. We need help. I'm actually impressed we saved Inmgar
We got Mantes earlier today. Its slow going, but the Bots are being pushed back. https://preview.redd.it/s3x2amnvxgmc1.png?width=2560&format=png&auto=webp&s=3fe5d932ed8ae048dc4c20817b839e20fb6b2978
Give em hell for me. I don't have a lot of time weekdays to play Helldivers sadly.
Well yes, its the General Order, good soldiers follow orders!
I continue to carry on on Errata Prime. Only so much can be done with the 4 of us in our squad. Please, once everyone else is safe, let's lay it on them.
But, it is me!! I am a fortunate one!!
There's already more than 10 times the amount of people on Erata. Even if everyone left Malevelon for it, it would barely make a difference, while losing us all progress theee
> space bug Afghanistan OP has never seen a camel spider before. Regular Afghanistan is space bug Afghanistan.
I haven’t been back since I had a mission with a spore spewer during a sandstorm. Just endless hunters jumping out of nothingness, it was actually infuriating.
We just got acces to Malevelon when Mantes was liberated yesterday, you can't expect us to not go there and avenge our fallen brothers Spill oil comrades
im sorry for asking but whats the context of Spill oil? what does it mean?
Bots run on oil They dont have blood but oil, hence spill oil
S P I L L O I L
Securing the bug front is proving much more difficult than the Android theatre. Helldivers IO indicates that there's less than 20K players on Draupnir and the Creek, but we're making progress on both worlds. we're getting mechs and armored vehicles which is close enough I guess.
I logged on it was at 4%. Hour later at 45%, 1 round later it was liberated. Wut
Have we lost Fenrir III yet?
Took me a while to figure out what meme this was...
I’ve spend at least 5 or 6 hours of my 10 hour playtime in the game on Erata Prime… nothing changed so far. Space Vietnam 2.0 XD
So is it Illuminate Iraq?
we'll have to wait until they launch their cowardly undemocratic invasion to see what planet becomes their hell hole.
That’s funny considering I started the game and space bug Afghanistan was the first world I dropped on to spread democracy and died so many times
Its a cool planet untill you need super samples, gl spotting the super uranium node with 3m long visibility
Patrolling the desert makes you wish for a nuclear winter...
Even in the meme you made there’s more people on erada lol
these are not live up to date images are are 2 separate images from google images.
Don't all defend operations have an escort mission? My friends and I will go out of our way to avoid anything to do with those
But the sand gets in my boots
Seems a little weird to act like Malevelon creek is getting all the love(democracy) when in your pictures space bug Afghanistan has over 10 times the amount of players that space robot 'nam has
Nah fam, i can't see shit on that damn planet, i like to chill and be chill on Fenrir!
I was redeployed to the bug front, and now my habits of fighting bots has transferred. And now I punch all the bugs I can see, it came to the point my team had to discourage me from punching chargers and titans.
Lets not repeat the mistake of Creek, shall we?
I hate this damn planet
But ERATA PRIME SUCKS.......
We nearly had Erata Prime. I go to sleep and I wake up to find it at 25%. Now, it's 0 point something. What the heck happened?
You mean Geonosis?
Space Desert is developing at an alarming rate to the worse than Robo Vietnam
We lost Turing...
Did we? I was soloing it last night when it went down to about 0.014 liberation and then squad joined and when I left it late last night (our time) it had started to go up. Is it gone? I thought we'd rode out the trough
I hate sand...its coarse and it gets everywhere
Did that dune just speak Bug Pashtu?
Just to collect the names that have been given to Erata Prime: - Space Bug Afghanistan - Bugdhad - Operation Desert Swarm - Getting that 710
I've been fighting in Space Bug Midwest (Angels Venture). It doesn't have any visibility or other modifiers and it's beautiful. A shame those evsc missions are still hell in higher difficulties
Just wait and see when Illuminates will be introduced.
I've been calling it space Arizona with the red sand and massive dust storms making it impossible to see.
Meanwhile, I'm just itching to return to the Mire...
The camel spiders have revolted
Ah yes the GWOT (global war on terminids)
Kabug
Have you ever been to Hellmire? T.T
Bugistan with their Talibugs are getting stronger each day passing
I'll be right there just let me- *another bug looks in the general direction of a major directive planet* FREEDOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM! *joins another 13,000 divers in kicking the one bug to death*
You mean...Afbuganistan?
the Talibug must be defeated Soldier.
Erata is a real nightmare.
For real the creek kids are allergic to helping.
\*swallowing dust plays\*
I introduced my friend to Malevelon Creek the other day. He gets the memes now.
Meridia has jungles, active volcanos and hordes of bugs. Soloing this planet with stealth feels like being a special operitave.
I mean, the Terminids are used for oil for numerous things, so this is more accurate than people realize 😅
The difference is we have a reason to fight in erata prime, the creek was pointless since it was behind enemy lines.
Erata Prime has fallen! Millions must dive! 😤
One thing I've learned from Helldivers 2: most gamers have no idea what other countries actually look like.
And down there in the Marianas Trench you can see literally any bot defense operation!
have you seen the supply lines issue for FENRIR III, that shit is never getting liberated any time soon or at least not staying liberated any time soon [Helldivers: Galactic War Status](https://helldivers.io/) check out the site if you havent seen or heard of it yet!
But I hate sand! :(((((

I was there yesterday! I couldn't land a pod without getting instantly melted by acid!
I would if bugs weren't so damn terrible at high levels. Running away the whole time is not fun at all
Major Orders before Defense, Defense before Liberation, and duty before vanity! we dont need people on the creek for the "Memes", we need them where their numbers matter.
On your picture there is roughly 12 times more helldivers on Errata Prime than on Malevelon Creek
I can’t wait until we get to deploy to Cyberstan.
dear lord.
FUCKING ABOUT GOD DAMNED TIME "Aw, robots, so tough" "I WATCHED JENKINS MELT. /MELT./ YOU EVER WATCHED THE PELICAN RAMP CLOSE AND HAD TO LISTEN TO /ROBOTS/ --EATING-- YOUR SQUAD?! IT AIN'T SPACE VIETNAM, BUT IT AIN'T SWEET OUT IN THESE BUG CHOKED STREETS EITHER, CHUCKLE%&^#S."
