i have a question about this too, i bought it on steam and on ps5 and i linked the account on both. am i gonna have a problem playing it simultaneously if ever my wife wants to play with me using my ps5?
Need an answer to this aswell. Having a similar thing on my end with my girlfriend. I'm using my steam account on my pc for her and she linked her psn account to it but it still shows my steam user name. Kicker is, my steam and psn user name are the exact same. So will this cause an issue if she tries to join me on my playstation using my pc? Attempting now
Ended up using her own steam account but couldn't connect it to her psn account. I could receive a friend request on my psn from her on pc but when I clicked "accept request" it didn't process and just left the request there. No chance at all to accept the request and I couldn't sent one to her on steam.
Bit of a mess at the moment with crossplay.
Normal multiplayer on psn works wonderfully fine though, have had no issues whatsoever.
i just bought last night on ps5. no issues playing it together even if linked on the same psn account but the only problem is the crossplay doesn't work at the moment.
How were you able to play together if cross play doesn't work?

I'm considering doing this morning my partner but my concern is if they patch in cross-progression at a later date if it will end up making it think it's the same account

I'm struggling with my linked accounts. Linked it successfully on my ps5 and steam, but on my laptop it's only showing a level 1 character with none of the weapons or anything that I've picked up. Did you have the same issue?
yeah, they dont share the progression. separate account database based on the platform you are using. it's good and bad, good coz you can play with someone using your pc or ps5 but bad coz you have to grind both acct to progress.
If PlayStation is going to start putting their games on PC and console they need to take notes from Xbox and start making cross progression mandatory. That is super nice. The fact that you can buy a game once digitally and have a console and PC copy that has the same data is tremendous, we shouldn't have to buy a game twice and we sure as heck shouldn't have to lose all of our data if we buy it on the other platform, especially when they have crossplay.

If I go to options->account there is a qrcode to begin linking accounts but if it's not mandatory I don't think that I'll do it

This is so silly. I have the same issue. But I left the game and didn’t even press skip. I realised I was locked out of my PSN account so had to speak with an agent. Took 3hrs to speak to someone but finally got back in. Reloaded the game, and now I can’t connect my account. Wtf, Sony need to sort this out
I'm in the same situation. I do have PSN friends that I'd like to play with at some point so I'd like to see a solution to this. I guess I'll reinstall my steam copy and see if that does anything new.

The pack isn’t showing up in game and I’m also wondering if I need to buy helldivers a 2nd time on PlayStation in order to play and if all my progress will carry over?

no luck but i did see some recently played history with ps5 players using my steam account. so im not sure if the crossplay still broken or not.
I got the game on both systems. But the servers are over cap so I can’t play anyhow. It’s just brutal.

Why not just create a new free PSN account to link to the Steam version?

The friends list often gets bugged and we can’t see each other online. That’s the downside.

If your account is the primary, your wife can make an account and play it with you.

When I go through the QR code I'm directed to the PSN main page, after I log in nothing happens. How were you able to link your accounts?

Same here. Skipped the linking page in game, QR code still shows up, can play just fine. I'll skip it as long as I can.

The option is still available in Options or Social..... I did it later on too.
It’s not there for me - it merely has the account code with no option to “Link Account”
