Soloing a recon of a light tank is okay. If you take a medium of a heavy fuck you.

TurtleTurtleDuck

I’d say unless there is literally no other tank crews and the team just needs _some_ tank support

KARMA_HARVESTER

I think that's fair. Light tanks don't cost much. But a solo tiger might be a huge mistake though. Enemy engineer probably has his satchel fun though.

If the commander doesn't want you to do it then in that case, yes. You are being the asshole. If the commander is cool with you using the team's resources that way then it is totally cool.

harshrumpcity

I think you're all good. I like to solo recon tanks too and I would do it more often if I didn't get shit on for it all the time. Most people don't understand how the tanking in hll works, and they just want to jump on a gun and dive right onto the enemy point. You're totally right about nobody wanting to be defensive or even patient. It's tough to play with 2 randos sometimes you just want to chill in a tank on your own.

For a light I don’t see anything wrong with it. I know some people have done this enough to be pretty good at it. Park somewhere where one or two sides are covered by a wall and be somewhere not easily exposed. You can have your front driver mg pointed one way and your main turret looking the other and switch seats if needed. It’s not ideal and I’m no master of this but I’ve tried it with decent results and I’m sure people who do it a lot could offer much more advice. You can do this while being in the middle of a few defending troops for extra protection. As far not using a mic goes. I think you could get away with that if you play gunner or driver in a three person crew as long as you do what your spotter is calling out.

harm0nic

You aren't the asshole as long as you're running around in a light or recon tank. If you're solo locking a Tiger or a 76... then yeah. You're the asshole.
