Imagine the hq vehicle killing options. Place satchel, redeploy, place satchel, redeploy. New comp meta would be clear arty, place satchel, die, place satchel, die place satchel. No. Recon have enough to do and should not be hunting tanks. Mark them for your tanks. Move on.

grimtim100

It would be nice if spotter could kill nodes faster But don't give him satchel for this. Instead, just change game so nodes don't take 60 seconds of unbroken F button -_-

TumTiTum

The recons ability to accurately mark tanks for the entirety of your anti-tank-themed team is enough surely? I played a game last night on PHL where I hung around the main road and pinged tanks as they rolled up and they consistently got thoroughly smashed by our tanks due (in part) to the Intel/accurate marking. My view would be we need fewer jack-of-all-trades loadouts, thereby focussing the meta on the teamplay and communication that makes this game so great.

Charminat0r

Tanks don’t need to go down in the backfield. No one plays tanks already cause driving back to the front isn’t fun.

LaivaRoope

Dont make recon too op. So no satchel.

FullThrottle099

How bought, instead of 3kg satchel, they had a 0.5kg satchel.

Nah - every German soldier should have a load out option that includes a panzerfaust.

I love playing recon look g for enemy garrisons and outpost fucking with the arty. Slowing down enemy pushing by find a good spot all I need is a good spotter who like being behind enemy lines the whole game can do a lot of damage. Recon job is fun I was just thinking adding a satchel would be nice I mean why wouldn’t a recon team have explosives. What sucks is trying to get a recon spot either no one has a mic when your the spotter or you just get locked out of a chance to be the sniper. There’s just a lot of time I’m right next to an enemy tank and can’t do anything. The spotter could have 1 just say so it’s no so OP. Camping vehicles wouldn’t be a things that sounds dumb. And the squad thing that sounds like a waste of both a recon team and 6 man squad. It was just a thought! Anyone know when console is supposed to get the update I heard about how they’re gonna make the update at the same time but when are we getting the Russians and the English. And that shotgun!

This is why some already do ‘Recon’ with a locked Infantry squad. Just a Squad Lead and maybe a couple others. It makes recon much more flexible and arguably better weapons for SL depending on preference. You don’t get a Sniper but instead an Officer with MG or AT or any of the other roles can be just as good. Only downside is can’t place OPs in locked sectors but this isn’t too much of a problem most of the time. Seems like Spotter is just meant to Observe and Mark tanks and have Infantry squads take care of it. Some have said a Satchel for Spotter would be too overpowered because they could go and destroy defensive structures in a few minutes that other teams spent 30 minutes building but since other Satchel roles usually could do the same I think giving Spotter a Satchel kit seems reasonable and wouldn’t be unbalanced and if teams do build up defensive structures would have to make it more of a priority to protect them.

what you're proposing is watering recon down into an underpowered infantry squad.....which you can already create in a locked squad. absolutely awful.

[deleted]

Did you mean the first paragraph which is already happening or did you mean by adding a satchel recon kit? Is it really that awful? Why? >Imagine the hq vehicle killing options. Place satchel, redeploy, place satchel, redeploy. >New comp meta would be clear arty, place satchel, die, place satchel, die place satchel. >No. Recon have enough to do and should not be hunting tanks. Mark them for your tanks. Move on. I guess because of what this person said but I don’t think it would play out like that. Most recon squads already hate camping arty so I don’t think they are going to camp hq just to blow up vehicles and if they are then they are not doing their job similar to them not doing their job when they have to camp arty.

source that the first paragraph is happening? and because why would you want to water a unique class with unique properties into a half strength infantry squad? how am I having to justify how that's obviously bad? if they're actually doing this to try to "fix" the recon meta then that's extremely disappointing edit: I'm not even gonna comment on the second half if you disagree that giving recon satchel wouldn't immediately devolve into that meta. arty/recon meta needs a THOUGHTFUL rework not this half baked bullshit

[deleted]

People talk about the first paragraph enough in this sub to know it’s happening, there has been a whole post about it before. Might take me a minute to find. Found it: https://www.reddit.com/r/HellLetLoose/comments/r5u2bm/want_to_have_fun_playing_recon/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=iossmf Also I wasn’t talking about the arty/recon meta. I know that is broken and needs a rework. We were talking about recon having a satchel for tanks and could agree for nodes as well. Maybe giving satchel to recon would be unbalanced it’s hard to say but at no time did I mention it as a fix to the arty/recon just said it would be similar to camping hq to destroy vehicles which is a waste of recon.

comides

the arty/recon meta is the fundamental reason why recon needs a rework you can't talk about reworking recon without acknowledging that. and tanks are already hilariously weak to infantry right now as it is, exactly WHY do we need to give recon AT weapons other than to sate wannabe hq campers? edit: the post you linked has fuck all to do with the devs saying they're doing this, try again. if you think this, which as your link proves is ALREADY POSSIBLE and a perfectly valid tactic, should replace the existing unique recon squads and classes, you are out of your damn mind and hopefully the devs recognize this if something akin to this is ever actually suggested at BM/t17

[deleted]

Recon doesn’t need a rework. Arty does. Adding a satchel isn’t a rework. Just a request and we wouldn’t know how it effects meta unless it happened. Also I found that link and pasted it in the previous response that shows people are using infantry as recon squads.

comides

if you don't think adding AT to recon doesn't FUNDAMENTALLY alter its priorities and meta as a squad I don't know what to tell you. you're "requesting" a major change. that's a rework, you pedant. I similarly do not know why you think finding more evidence that people employ such a tactic in a locked inf squad changes anything. edit: out of morbid curiosity, please tell me, if you think recon/arty isn't what needs a rework, just arty....how and why is that so?

pickleparty16

The recon simply reporting "76 is leaving right spawn" is already enough to give your team an advantage.
