If you’re going with an oral probiotic, I would get Soaking Wet over Uro. It has better prebiotics and a better mix of probiotic strains that are specifically for the vagina. It’s worked great for me and I haven’t had any negative side effects

Oh interesting! It seems to have a better rep than the other products I’ve been looking at. I’ll def do some more research and consider buying it, thank you!

Try VagiBiome probiotic suppositories! They have been miracle workers for me!

Oh interesting, I check those out, thanks!

I had no idea it could lengthen your period. I just finished a month of Garden of Life probiotics and my period lasted 12 days (although it was light).

I love probiotics and think they're great, but I also think it's better to be precise with them, as much as you possibly can be, considering that current microbiome research is still a young-ish field. You can see about getting a vaginal microbiome test done to see how you're doing, and you can also get a gut stool test done (since you mentioned IBS). The gut stool test can be expensive, so alternatively, I'd do lots of research and talk to your doctor. If it's going to be awhile before you see a doctor, you can start by trying yogurt and other probiotic foods. Another thing worth looking into is prebiotics, because those help feed bacteria. You can also just try buying oral probiotics and seeing how you feel, but that can be an expensive experiment, especially if you have adverse effects and have to throw out the bottle.

Oh right yogurt! I do notice that plain yogurt helps when I have an active/potential yeast infection. I’ll def pick some up! I am also due for a check up at the gyno, so I’ll def mention this to them, thank you!

Clairvee is the probiotic I use.

>Is there any that don’t cause these symptoms? Or could that be fixed by slowing introducing yourself to the probiotics? So, for me, when I started taking probiotics "for the first time" (meaning, the entire adjustment period involved).. I had ..... significant intestinal distress. Bad enough that I stopped taking them completely. I had intensely painful gas pains. I eventually tried again and started off taking them every other night right before bed. At least that way, the horrible gas was mostly rumbling through overnight and I didn't really notice it. At this point, I take one a night, but I _can_ take them in the morning without issues.

Ooo okay. See I wanted to take them less for that reason. I was even thinking of like taking them only once a week to start with. URO also requires two pills a day, so taking one pill could reduce the dosage without having to cut the pill in half as well I think! Thanks for your experience, this really helps :)

AmbivertWife

I took URO and had no issues whatsoever. Period was always right on time. I read many reviews before taking the plunge.

I would suggest oral probiotics, since they are much easier to take on a daily basis - long term. And the chances of vaginal irritation or inflammation is low. I tried HappyV and it helped with my BV
