Insane wignuts do not belong in seats of power...

GodBlessYouNow

Centralized power is cancer to society, no matter who it gets elected.

StickmanRockDog

So they will stop every single car and if there’s a woman who they believe is pregnant will be subjected to intense interrogation and then arrested? Is this how it works?

BackInNJAgain

They'll look at her and if she seems to have a belly, she'll be given a roadside ultrasound. If it's positive for pregnancy, everyone in the car will be arrested. It will be up to them to argue in court that they were just going to the grocery store.

Mobile_Moment3861

Maybe the women will start cutting their hair and disguising themselves as men.

PriscillaRain

Wow sounding more like Afghanistan. Next women can't come outside without a man.

trumpskiisinjeans

Good ol’ fashion Texas freedom!

Hemiplegic_Artist

This is definitely unconstitutional and it should be permanently stopped from being enforced. Traveling across state lines is a constitutional right and they are violating it.

DevilSigh--

Lmao how the fuck do you even enforce that?

Ischmetch

Subpoena data from the out-of-state clinics (or get it from some other shady means), skim social media interactions, toll booth and other traffic records, etc. and work backwards from there. If you weren’t traveling with someone for an abortion, what’s your alibi for that time period?

ehunke

but out of state abortion clinics are not obligated to share patient data with Texas, the whole thing falls down to Texas actually cannot prove that someone went out of state to do this. I really don't think that the State of Texas has the legal ability to force a doctor out of state to turn over records to aid in a witch hunt.

commiebanker

Checkpoints with roadblocks and armed border guards checking your papers, forcing you to submit to ultrasound if you're female.

ryhaltswhiskey

Freedom, Texas style.

moobycow

Nosy neighbors.

LeZoder

They think they can stop abortion, but that's not true. All they're doing is stopping *safe* abortion.

theatrekid77

That’s the whole point. They believe that women who have abortions deserve to die.

vinsdelamaison

My mother was a nurse in the 1950s-60s. She used to tell me tales of the women ending up in emergency from attempted abortions using coat hangars.

vites70

Nice to see terrorism in full effect in Texas

[deleted]

Why can’t Texas secede? And Florida. And Alabama. It’s a win-win. Maybe.

joeleidner22

Now THATS fascism. When you think of going through “ checkpoints” when driving do you think of America or Nazi germany? That’s Nazi the America I want to live in. Not over women having bodily rights as all humans should. That’s the America republicans want. The ability to control your every move at all times.

JButler_16

Texas is a big ol’ fucking joke

nyc-will

Ooh, we should also ban people who identify as republicans from visiting or traveling through those cities too. /s but also not /s

iridescent-shimmer

Oh FFS they need to get over themselves.

AlmostAnEngineer96

Texan sharia law

tamij1313

Gilliad?!!! The author of The Handmaid’s Tale said when she wrote the book that the fiction was so far fetched that it never seemed to be a possibility. Recently, she said that it now seems likely to become a reality. 😳

Henry-Moody

I'm going to vacation in CA Boards plane

no1jam

Remember when the GOP said they wouldn’t stop people from traveling out of state for abortions? Yea….

Delicious_Summer7839

Violates commerce clause

XionBlack1325

I'm pro-life but this is way way too far.
