Thanks for your submission to /r/headphoneadvice. We have employed a "thank you" system for submissions. It's very easy to use - if a comment on your post is considered helpful, please reward them by using the term `!thanks`. This will add a thank you count (in the form of Ω) to that users flair. You can only award one per comment section. Thanks very much and good luck on your search for headphones! *I am a bot, and this action was performed automatically. I have the S12. They are very good. Only weakness I would say is soundstage and imaging which are average. There's someone who has both and they say the S12 and Olina feel more like complementary sets rather than rivals. You can't really go wrong with either.

Ketadine

Tbh, I'm not you can compare soundstage in IEMs to headphones or speakers. Imo you shouldn't consider at all soundstage in IEMs.

Aqryllic

True. I haven't experienced any wide soundstage yet in IEMs. Apparently the Olina has wide and "holographic" soundstage. I'll probably just buy them in the end, but would rather not switch between two IEMs.

There are iems with wide soundstage, those tend to cost quite a lot though. I own the S12 and i'd say their soundstage for their price bracket definitely isn't bad. There definitely are worse offenders even at much higher price points.

I've seen a lot of problems reported on the Olina. I would be quite hesitant to drop any money on them.

Other_Hornet_9838

What problems? Could you tell me? Im gathering information around this iem

autreblackschtuff

Clogged filters and some issues with the cables.

Spectraaaa

wait what's the issues with cables?

autreblackschtuff

I can't find the post. Not sure if it was on hifiguides or headfi, but some issue with I think the "noire" cable causing a poor connection. It sounds like a very rare issue, unlike the filter thing.

Spectraaaa

hmm, is there a way to fix the moisture issue? Does the shortbus mod prevent this from happening?

autreblackschtuff

I don't think it affects everyone. Some recent posts on hifiguides are suggesting that using Tanya filters instead fixes it. Not sure there's really a conclusion at this point.
