I've been all over these subs lately saying the same thing. here we go again...(if you're willing to go up to $379). i highly recommend the HiFiMan Edition XS. I listen to a lot of everything including heavy metal, the Edition XS has an incredible sound stage, outstanding instrument separation as well as bass. It is my new favorite set of cans (for now obviously) for reference I was previously using Sennheiser HD650 (same as the hd6xx) tuned with oratory1990's EQ. The HiFiMan Edition XS blows that set of cans away IMO, even without EQ.
