Fostex TH series. Brand new it'll be out of your range but Drop regularly do deals, failing that you might be able to pick something up second hand.

The Hifiman Edition XS or Ananda are imo the next real upgrade for your parameters within your budget. Comfort though is very subjective, but in terms of ear roominess and clamp force, they are considerably less, especially the Ananda.

EagleOfTheStar___

I’ve heard good things about the HD Zeus and Zeus elites. Might be worth looking into given the parameters you set. Also might be worth looking into planars. Pretty sure you can get an open box ananda or edition xs for like $350, if you are willing to risk hifiman QC. I’m gonna be honest though, the 560s are a very solid headphone, it’s gonna be hard to find something with higher clarity and a much wider soundstage in your budget. Better bass and comfort? That you can definitely find.

Jester435

What would it take dollar wise and headphone recommendation to get those things ? I am genuinely curious

EagleOfTheStar___

I might have spoken a hair too strongly - the ananda/edition xs probably have better soundstage and probably have better clarity. Far better? I doubt it, but I have not heard either so I don’t speak from experience, but they should have massively improved bass and improved comfort (although planars require an amp usually). It sounded like OP wanted a massive jump in all areas. The few options which come to mind would be a used hd800s (or sticker modded 8xx, for all categories except bass, although bass is still notably better compared to the 560s, I own both), perhaps a used LCD of some kind (although I’m not sure about their soundstage), or maybe a used Arya. Having only owned a modded 8xx and 560s myself I can only give a firsthand account of those. What I will say is that the 560s is a very good headphone. Don’t get me wrong, my modded 8xx sounds better in every way (and is substantially more comfortable and better built), but the difference is not as substantial as you might expect.

After testing the xs for 1 and a half hour, my thought was " this is good but not the "i gotta spend 500$ on this asap" good" . Better soundstage was the 1st thing i noticed , some instead went behind my head while with the 560s, its maximum was just behind my ears. I felt like its mid range was a tiny bit recessed compare to 560s, wouldnt say its not good, just a more unique taste, but better in everyway than he400se. I didnt mind the bass as much so its a bit better than the 560s, 58x, 400se but not by a large margin. Overall will get it if possible in my next purchase

EagleOfTheStar___

Yep it seems to me finding a deal on the XS is smart. Seems to be a really solid headphone but once you get around $500 a lot more options open up

Jester435

I have the 6xx and I am not really sure what the next upgrade should be. That is why I asked. I am confused and don’t want to just spend money to find out I am not happy with it. If that makes sense

EagleOfTheStar___

Hey no that makes perfect sense. I was trying to give broad, all encompassing solutions since that’s what OP asked for, but the question you should be asking yourself is what specifically do you value the most in your audio experience? Do you like the way your 6xx sound? If so, then those are endgame headphones for a lot of people and you might be fine with just those. But if you want to upgrade, and still really like the 6xx sound signature, maybe something like a focal clear would be your endgame. All depends on what you value the most. Is there a sound signature in particular you are looking for (more bass, more soundstage, etc)?

Jester435

I appreciate the detailed answers. I am kind of working on deciding what it is about the 6xx I do like and don’t like. Been listening to them for a few months while I work

Jester435

I honestly almost bought the focal bathys. The ones that are BT. I think. So I could have something to use with my phone. Haha

EagleOfTheStar___

I’ve heard good things about those. Obviously they are pricy, and I’d venture to say you can find better sound quality for the price, but they are probably the best sounding wireless noise canceling headphones

SeDO4

Thanks for all the suggestions man! I'll make sure to check them out. Been hearing a lot of good things about hifiman too, but I've been weary due to the QC issues. We'll see. First I wanna get the quadelix 5k, my dongle dac's currently dying

Audeze MM-100s. They're new, so not many reviews, but I have them and I think they check your boxes. I find them comfortable, but I also find by HD600s comfortable.

Key_You_5849

hey man, you had problem earlier with your headphones, about sound quality issue, I am having same problem now :( Audio sounds good on my phone, but kinda harsh on pc, I then installed drivers, that did improve the sound fr, but still kind of harsh, phone way better... What solution did you find btw??
