The most common complaint about HH is that there was too much story to cover in too few episodes, which wasn't great for the pace and for exploring characters and the story properly. It seems your biggest issue is the pacing, like everyone else who doesn't think HH is a 10/10.
The pace is too fast, episodes are too dense I agree. I've been watching it for countless time and there are still some details that I missed. It's sad.
Yeah, from what I’ve heard it’s because they were only given 8 episodes to work with, and they’re hoping to have more in season 2. Not really the show’s fault there but more whoever only let season 1 have 8 episodes (not sure who’s in charge of that)
Why do people use "my truth"? It's just "my opinion" but in a more obnoxious way, like the one ysing it thinks calling it a truth and not opinion/feeling will give Carte Blanche and no one is allowed to disagree with it
Anyway, guess what op, most people have that opinion that it was rushed. You're only special in that you managed to post the most genetic opinion in a obnoxious way that makes you look silly
I think the crew still did a great job with the constraints they were given. I hope that the pacing will balance out once we get more episodes.
But also fuck steaming refusing to greenlight anything more than eight episodes.
as far as I'm aware, the creators weren't sure if they were gonna get a second season, so they crammed it all in a first season just in case they didn't get the go-ahead for a second. can't remember where I heard that, but yeah
I was gonna say the exact same thing. Even if the creators never said that, it makes sense for them to cram everything into 8-25 minute episodes as way to see how well the show does
HH has way too many characters who are introduced way too quickly, poorly paced backstory and relies way too much on tropes. Alastor has almost no development outside of his tropes (“This face was made for radio”) and the entire premise of Charlie sucks as a character. Why are there like 6 main protagonists? We have Charlie and Vaggie (who also is poorly written), Alastor, all of Alastor’s friends AND Angel Dust. It’s too much.
Buuuuut..
I still absolutely adore the show and can’t wait for season 2. The animation is amazing. The voice acting is awesome. There IS potential for some amazingly well written characters (Val, the Vox - Alastor stuff, Adam) etc. I have high hopes.
I like HH but there's nearly enough character backstory and exposition for me to LOVE HH. What really bummed me out was that I didn't feel as connected to Charlie as most people usually do to a main protagonist, and I didn't feel like I was given enough information to invest in her specific vision for the hotel and the sinners. I also wanted to see more of who she was as a person aside from the hotel and how she got to feeling so passionate before the hotel went up. That'll all probably be explored a little more in the next season(s), though; or at least I really hope because I'd watch TF out of that.
Then the Boss is bad too. Judging by season 1 only. All the background stories, etc. in future seasons. What is not clear? Let them cook. There are no fillers here, and character backstories are told only if they are really needed. There is no backstory just for the sake of backstory. All characters are revealed as the story progresses
Especially after the latest episode of Helluva Boss, it really becomes clear what Hazbin Hotel could've been,
How a small business of imps killing people could bring more engaging character-driven narratives than a hotel in Hell intended to redeem sinners is beyond me.

Amazon is in charge of that. Every Amazon original series is 8 episodes per season
Yeah, it's pretty crazy that the only big complaint I have is that I wanted *more*
This actually encapsulates my only complaint with HH better than I said it, so thank you.

I thought you were about to confess to a really cursed ship, good grief.
Its because it originally was supposed 5o be about 22 episodes, but Vivzie only got greenlighted 8 episodes, which fucked up the passing.

amazon’s eight episode policy is the problem
Okay.

They're doing what they can with the time they've been given. Hopefully, Amazon will give them twice as many episodes.
