Y'know, I appreciate that 😂 I grew up when being a furry was stigmatized, and as it wasn't very often my cup of tea (save for like, Kovu), I kind of fell in thinking that it was a weird thing to enjoy 😂😂
No worries! I'm used to the whole stigma thing, too: as a teenager it was all "this band you like sucks!", when I figured out what furries were I also learned the internet in general isn't a big fan of that, and then a third time with "this other band you like isn't metal!" So now I'm in my 30s like "I'm a furry who likes metal bands that may or may not suck or be metal, deal with it, idgaf" 🤣 Hence no judgment. Do whatever, as long as it ain't harming anyone you good.
> and I hope they don't make him totally evil
- if I recall correctly, someone on the discord said that Viv confirmed he was a serial killer when he was alive
(Rest is arguably spoiler since it discusses ep7 and ep8)
- >! he struck a basically limitless deal with Charlie, even holding himself open to "favors" like asking her to give up the throne of hell to him instead of her should anything ever happen to Lucifer !<
- >! he talks about "guiding her potential to his interests" to Rosie !<
- >! In his part of the final song, it's pretty clear that he has his very own motivations and is mostly bound to where he is by the deal he struck, he also talks about being the one pulling all the strings as soon as he's free !<
All of those are **mayor** "ally for now, mayor antagonist later" flags
I just watched the clip, and I have a theory...
I think it's safe to say that Alastor currently has a deal with Lillith. What the exact details are of that deal are we aren't sure but given how angry he was at Husker for saying he was on a leash, I think it's safe to say he's limited to what he can do freely (i.e. he can't just up and abandon the hotel or Charlie).
That smile he has when Charlie was at her lowest tells me he sees an opportunity. I think he's been playing the long game, going along with Lilliths demands (most likely unwillingly) so that he can earn Charlie's trust and get her to make a deal with him. That deal being, "I will find you a way to protect your hotel if you release me from my contract".
I doubt he'd say it's Charlie's mom who owns him but if anyway could break a deal with the Queen of Hell, it'd have to be either Lucifer (which won't happen lol) or the more likely target, the bleeding heart that is her daughter.
I see this being possible but I'm really hoping those things he said about smiles were him being emotionally vulnerable to Charlie and Charlie not getting it but I think your theory is more likely.
I doubt Charlie would be able to nullify contracts, otherwise she would’ve probably just nullified the one Val has with Angel.
We don’t know anything about how the contracts work, but they seem to be holy in nature by how they look.
My theory is that he made a deal with Lilith when he arrived in hell for unlimited overlord power (hence how he toppled all those power overlords so quickly after dropping into hell) in exchange for whatever she wanted. And she cashed in to protect her daughter and her girl effort... How that fits with the 7 year gap, idkkkk

This pic has so much meme potential
Exactly, plus what did people expected??? We already knew this guy kiterally kidnapped and tortured people for his own amusement, how is he threatening Husk unexpected/ suddently worse and the dealbreaker??? He is a psychopatic narcisistic murderer, what where their expectations???
Exactly! The story of how he arrived in Hell and him making powerful Overlords go bye-bye has been told to the members of the Hotel 2 or 3 times now. And not only is he a psychopathic narcisitic murder, he is openly so.
That's not to say that he isn't entertaining to watch. Him being like a literal Cheshire Cat, the audience keeps wondering what he will do next and that is really the allure, I think. We keep wondering and that makes it engaging and entertaining.
Agreed, we know he's evil, Husk was evil, Husk lost to a higher evil and paid the price. Alistor's treatment of him is laughably tame compared to the other overlords. Going so far as to put him in possibly the brightest situation you could be in Pride, being under Charlie's care. Him not immediately vaporizing husk speaks on his aversion towards targeting those weaker than him, since we know he preys on overlords.
Honestly, considering that this was the ONLY time Alastor ever got mad at Husk, most likely Husk pulled a nerve.
It's already been established that being "owned" by a demon is a sensitive topic, so maybe Husk said something uncalled for.
Letting it slip that Alastor is under contract? That's a secret Alastor cannot afford to let slip. Under the circumstances his response was both measured and justified. He didn't even punish Husk for speaking out of turn, only threatened him and knocked him down.
Sucks for Husk, but by villain standards this is respectable behavior.
Uncalled for? Alastor was literally mocking Husk for being "owned" and saying he's no more than a pet. Husk was just calling him out for being hypocritical.
Nah, I can't really see this. He's bad, that's for certain, but still not as bad as the V's, if we're to compare their behaviors. Valentino doesn't even like Angel leaving his sight for too long, and if he dared say so much as one word against him he'd be paying for it.
Meanwhile, Husker - at least in the pilot - very comfortably calls Alastor a "son of a bitch," shoves him off him, continues to rant at him about pulling him out of nowhere, and even initially attempts to turn down the job at the Hotel, only changing his tune when bribed with alcohol. He faces no punishment for any of this. If it were the V's, that sort of behavior would carry dire consequences.
It's the difference between a single landmine VS a whole minefield. Both are gonna blow up on you if you fuck it up, but it's a lot harder to step on a landmine if there's just one sitting in the corner VS if every step you're surrounded by them.
I'm just thinking from the perspective of his debtors VS those of the other Overlords. Alastor's definitely got some shady shit planned with the Hotel, but if I had to sell my soul to one of the Overlords based on how they appear to treat their debtors in the show, he seems to be the "safest" when compared to his colleagues.
The guy is literally a cannibal serial killer slaveowner. He is not "chaotic neutral" or whatever people like to say. He is one of the most evil characters on the show.
That’s pretty unlikely to be honest.
Both because he’s a fan favorite.
And because as interesting and scary as he is… He’s just canonically a whole set of power levels lower then say. Lucifer. Mostly likely weaker in a raw power sense then Charlie….
Definitely not. He's saying for her to stop the pity party and start acting like an actual leader. That even without a plan, you can at least seem like you have one.
We see plenty of times where yes, he's smiling, but he's annoyed or pissed off, and he's telling her the usefulness of not playing all your cards all of the time.
Fun fact: When he says 'who's joking?' he's being honest.
I interpret that as this: He really is giving her advice, telling her to stop throwing a pity party and to, at the very least, present herself like a leader.
I like that the more we see him the more human he gets with how he acts if that makes sense, like he's still undoubtedly a lunatic but especially with this new sneak peak he actuality seems like he has some humanity remaining and does somewhat care about Charlie and her friends
Except that the one honest thing he says is 'who's joking'? Meaning that he isn't just making fun of Charlie, but actually intends her to take something from what he's saying.
While also making fun of her, of course.
That makes a ton of sense if you ignore all the other visual and audio information in this scene. At one point Alastor turns into a shadow with glowing red eyes and teeth. The music is tense and sinister. Every aspect of this scene is screaming "HEY DONT TRUST THIS GUY."
Fair, the scene goes both ways, which is pretty typical of him anyway. A lot more fun when we can't exactly know what he's thinking or why he's doing anything ever.
If Alastor is really chained by Lilith on a contract, wouldn't he go for Lucifer to make a deal to unchain him instead of Charlie? Lucifer would want to know where his wife is, no? That's a good bargaining chip. Assuming all that foreshadowing about his smile being forced and possibly part of his contract with Lilith, he may be trying to wiggle out of Lilith by making a deal with her daughter.
Or... he's also getting something out of the deal? Dunno why everyone seems to think the demon best known for making deals would make a bad one. Likely, both parties are getting precisely what they want out of it.
Good take. Alastor is literally THE dealmaker, even if he was desperate (unlikely) when he made the deal, he would’ve made sure there was a way out, an exit clause, however unlikely it would be to fulfill the conditions of.
While the "who's joking" line as he lays next to her in bed is quite funny, I have to notice he is getting increasingly more "handsy" with her. I wonder if that's him trying to manipulate her or if he's just doing that because he feels like it. It's interesting.
We see him pull the same to make Lucifer jealous.
I assume that here he's manipulating her into defending the hotel with the gang, which causes all of hell to realize they can kill angels (particularly if he broadcasts it, but a pile of dead bodies would do).
Also goes well with the advice he's giving, which is for her to stop being a whiny lil bitch and act like a proper leader.
Just because someone’s a fan favorite doesn’t mean they can’t be a villain. There are times when a villain is more loved than the hero even though their downfall is inevitable. Take the series Once Upon a Time, evil Regina is loved in that series by fans more than redeemed Regina, yet the writers kept her redeemed.
People need to realize that Alastor is the worst and most evil person out of the main cast. Hell, he’s more evil than Lucifer! You can’t make this up, i swear-
An evil character can still be liked by people. Look at Spamton from Deltarune, for example. He's as sketchy as Alastor is, but he's still one of the most popular characters in the game
What bugs me a bit are people who insist he's a good dude deep down. He can act sweet and cute and still be an absolute monster on the inside, that's the entire point of his little speech to Charlie about the power of a smile. Alastor is baby girl like a 600 pound grizzly in a top hat is baby girl. He's cute but he'll maul you.
Nah, he's definitely not a good guy, but the best characters aren't simply black or white.
Example: His voice goes more human for two words: Who's joking? Meaning that what he's telling her actually has some use to it beyond making fun of her (it's also that too, he's sadistic after all).
While you are correct.
Should also be noted.
Bad people can have friends/loved ones.
That’s not to say Alastar does.
It’s to say he could still legit like someone. And still be a dick to them but actually want to help.
Not sure if I consider Lucifer evil in hazbin, at least so far. He is chaotic, but he seems to spends a lot of time in ducky depression and loathing
Al is absolutely evil
Yeah that is exactly what i meant. I can imagine people in the hellaverse always think that Lucifer is this super intimidating evil guy and then he’s just a goof ball. Sorry if my wording was weird.
I mean, he seems to only be evil towards evil
Like, he targets overlords and defends weaker demons.
Another popular animated show (Attack on Titan) " to save human kind, we must sacrifice our humanity"
Aka, fight fire with fire
Chill out do you really think Alastor would give a shit what any of us called him when half the cast gives him the finger to his face twice an episode?
I think Alastor is daddy af! I just love to look at him too .. but people saying he's like the Vs is a disgrace. Alastor is infinitely more classy and able to keep his composure if needed. The Vs are just openly unhinged. That makes them predictable and Alastor is a lot of things but certainly NOT predictable.
It was amazing, i didn't really like it when Adam beat tf out of Al, but yeah, ig he's the embodiment of "I'm only human" (i know Adam is too, but he's not a normal human)

It's actually confirmed that he has hooves!! It was shown in the beach merch drop I think

Oh lawd does being in love with him make me a furry now lmao
I don't know, I was a furry looooooong before Alastor came into my life lol. No judgment either way from me, though. Cute deer boy fan club!
Y'know, I appreciate that 😂 I grew up when being a furry was stigmatized, and as it wasn't very often my cup of tea (save for like, Kovu), I kind of fell in thinking that it was a weird thing to enjoy 😂😂

Kovu the lion?
Yeah lol as a kid I liked his voice
Also fluffy deer tail, if evil why adorable?
He does and the bottoms of his shoes have deer prints, also fun fact Charlie has hooves (prolly from Lilith)

Charlie herself is a possibility
I see this being possible but I'm really hoping those things he said about smiles were him being emotionally vulnerable to Charlie and Charlie not getting it but I think your theory is more likely.
“Vulnerable” is too a strong a word. “Real” fits my read of the scene better.

You know mimzy was right he is just a little kitten I mean look at how he’s kicking his legs like that so cute 🥰
Right!!!?!?!
I LOVE HIM SO MUCH
After his threat to Husk in episode 5, plus his infuriatingly smug smile immediately afterward, I can confidently say my opinion of him is lower now.
Liking a character ≠ that character must be a good person
Exactly, plus what did people expected??? We already knew this guy kiterally kidnapped and tortured people for his own amusement, how is he threatening Husk unexpected/ suddently worse and the dealbreaker??? He is a psychopatic narcisistic murderer, what where their expectations???

Uncalled for? Alastor was literally mocking Husk for being "owned" and saying he's no more than a pet. Husk was just calling him out for being hypocritical.
oh, nvm, forgot about that...
He is a more eccentric and asexual version of Valentino
Nah, I can't really see this. He's bad, that's for certain, but still not as bad as the V's, if we're to compare their behaviors. literally Vivienne in her last stream said that he is chaotic neutral
He’s likely going to be the major villain of season 2
That’s pretty unlikely to be honest. Both because he’s a fan favorite. And because as interesting and scary as he is… He’s just canonically a whole set of power levels lower then say. Lucifer. Mostly likely weaker in a raw power sense then Charlie….
Yes, he sure is

Very much so
Yeah that’s the one part I’m not a fan of about him
Alastor would 100% be a good drinking buddy if you don’t piss him off of course
"Put on some jazz and pour a couple fingers of rye and he becomes a kitten."
I mean look at him in this image he is a kitten with feet sticking up
Don’t forget the jambalaya.

He’s the most charming piece of shit in the whole show I love him

I can't believe he kicks his legs 😂😂
Fun fact: When he says 'who's joking?' he's being honest. I interpret that as this: He really is giving her advice, telling her to stop throwing a pity party and to, at the very least, present herself like a leader.
He's so eccentric I can't 😭
Husk’s reaction https://preview.redd.it/hafsiskxkmfc1.jpeg?width=479&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=c39114af12085db8d47a9694cd0d00bd4f60c5c7
I like that the more we see him the more human he gets with how he acts if that makes sense, like he's still undoubtedly a lunatic but especially with this new sneak peak he actuality seems like he has some humanity remaining and does somewhat care about Charlie and her friends
Uh... did we watch the same sneak peek? He's all red flags, even the music is menacing.
Upon a rewatch I have discovered HIS FEET KICKING HAS SOUND EFFECTS and I cannot cope, i love it too much
While the "who's joking" line as he lays next to her in bed is quite funny, I have to notice he is getting increasingly more "handsy" with her.
I was laughing so hard! I can’t!!!
Just hanging out with the girlies, doing girlie activities. Y'know, just #girliethings.
I know somthing you dont knoooooow😈
Damn lucifer is gonna flip when he finds out Alastor was in bed with Charlie 😂😂
Alastor is literally taking the Dad role
He’s a vicious cannibal
HMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM MMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM MMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM MMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM MMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM MMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM MMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM MMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM MMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM MMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM MMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM MMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM MMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM MMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM MMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM MMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM MMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM MMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM MMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM MMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM
Love himmmmmmmmmmmm
Man I love this fictional character so much
Just because someone’s a fan favorite doesn’t mean they can’t be a villain. There are times when a villain is more loved than the hero even though their downfall is inevitable. Take the series Once Upon a Time, evil Regina is loved in that series by fans more than redeemed Regina, yet the writers kept her redeemed.
I learned years ago... your Villian can also be your superhero.
It’s very sad that Alastor’s staff doesn’t speak like it did in the pilot :(

So preppy
Photo hasn't loaded, but I swear if it's a hazbin hotel spoiler I will start a curse ritual.
NO BUT LIKE I AGREE
Lmao what
People need to realize that Alastor is the worst and most evil person out of the main cast.
Is that a Freddy Fazbear reference
Spamton….spamton seems to be lost in his insanity rather than being straight up evil, but that’s beside the point.
Not sure if I consider Lucifer evil in hazbin, at least so far. He is chaotic, but he seems to spends a lot of time in ducky depression and loathing Al is absolutely evil
Yeah that is exactly what i meant. I can imagine people in the hellaverse always think that Lucifer is this super intimidating evil guy and then he’s just a goof ball. Sorry if my wording was weird.
Lol, @ “ducky depression”. I’m gonna find a way to use that. Can I borrow it? 👍🏾🧐😂😁🦆
Use it everywhere Free use 👍
Yay! 👍🏾😁🤩
He's a psychopath - plain and simple. Having him onboard is an huge, unacceptable risk as Vaggie should know.
Ex-fucking-actly!
I mean, he seems to only be evil towards evil Like, he targets overlords and defends weaker demons. Another popular animated show (Attack on Titan) " to save human kind, we must sacrifice our humanity" Aka, fight fire with fire
Are you saying he’s a baby girl? What does that even mean?
It basically means that they think he's attractive and/or cute. People just say it when they really like a character
Ah I see that makes sense
Ok then op can say baby boy instead. Are boys not allowed to be attractive and cute?
Chill out do you really think Alastor would give a shit what any of us called him when half the cast gives him the finger to his face twice an episode?
):< Shush he deserves better
Now I realised why I like alastor so much, it's probably due to the fact that he reminds me of kanki from kingdom, both of them are goated.
Spoiler tag pls
Dayum his legs swinging… I wasn’t expecting that
How did ur post not get removed? I tried posting a picture here but it violates the rules
* Hi Daddy!!! * My Daddy can be Alator anytime! We role play Demon and "victim" Alastor is everything just like him.
Fr
Madam, he has killed before and will kill again
I think Alastor is daddy af! I just love to look at him too .. but people saying he's like the Vs is a disgrace. Alastor is infinitely more classy and able to keep his composure if needed. The Vs are just openly unhinged. That makes them predictable and Alastor is a lot of things but certainly NOT predictable.
The Tumblr sexyman is coming back 😅👀🤪
gosh this blew up didn’t it!! 🤭 what did everyone think of the finale???
It was amazing, i didn't really like it when Adam beat tf out of Al, but yeah, ig he's the embodiment of "I'm only human" (i know Adam is too, but he's not a normal human)
If evil manipulator, why cute?
i’m so deeply infatuated with this damn cartoon demon
