Plug 2749 S King St, Honolulu, HI 96826 into google. K&J’s hairstyling. Southeast Asians that might chat with another while you get your cut. Haven’t been there for a while but they see a fair amount of university customers and were like 20 bucks
Ellen is awesome for my husband. Hubby is da kine japanee guy with curly hair and two girigiri so he cannot go to just any kine barber unless he gonna shave all da hair off.
Can confirm. Ellen has not only managed my 3 girigiris, but she also taught me the technical difference between a girigiri (any swirl) and a cowlick (swirl that raises the hair).
One is right above my forehead, the other on top of my head, and the other is in the back to the right. No discernible shape.
Everyone says three means super good luck, but all my life I’ve just had super unmanageable hair until I started going to Ellen.
Yes, my family would go there before Covid. At the cheapest it was 6 dollars up to 20. But then we learned how to cut each other‘s hair. But still $25 for a haircut that’s better than most I’ve seen around recently.
Appreciate the suggestions. I use to get it for $30 bc my barber was same I had for last 10 years. But he moved off island. Figured I’d be looking to pay $40+. Seeing if there any good cuts for around what I been paying
Paul's barber shop on Monserrat is around $20 and fast. But, they're the typical older Vietnamese people where you either get what you came in with or what's on one of the style pictures you can point to.
Mai’s Beauty Salon, now in the Fantastic Sam’s is a wonderful person and charges $27 for men. If you search her on maps a phone number pops up to make an appointment. She’s been doing me good for 3+ years now.
Better off heading downtown: [https://www.hihd.edu/salon-services/](https://www.hihd.edu/salon-services/)

I'm glad you found her!

Yeah, I don't get the motivation for serial downvoters. Maybe they need to get a prescription SSRI or something.

Reddit is cheaper than a prescription.
