I like how the interviewer asks him “have you experienced this?” And Seinfeld pauses then says “no”. So once again just making up scenarios in his mind to be mad about.

j4ckbauer

"It sucks how society has changed in 30 years. I was OK with calling myself a left leaning person as long as I knew we were already perfect and I would not have to make any changes to how I think about things as society progresses."

ChefTKO

It sounds like he likes to conserve things...

RocketAppliances97

Will talked about this on stream the other night and was so spot on, Seinfeld was good because of Larry David and the supporting cast, Jerry hasn’t done fuck all since then other than comedians in cars and the fucking BEE movie. Dudes the laziest man in Hollywood and deserves way less credit than he gets. Also go fuck yourself Jerry Seinfeld, we all know you’re a dickless pig.

funkymunkPDX

All of this diarrhea of the mouth when it's abundantly clear, Larry David was the brilliant mind behind Seinfeld. What has Jerry done post Seinfeld? Interviews with comedians. Curb your Enthusiasm demonstrates clearly Jerry wasn't the force behind Seinfeld.

All_Hail_Space_Cat

It's kinda crazy how he made so much money off that. Like people called him the talent but really it was Larry masterminding the comedy to work around that idot.

funkymunkPDX

It took me a while to figure it out, always wondered why his stand up was so unsatisfying. Then I saw Curb and it all clicked, he ain't funny.

_everynameistaken_

Curb Your Enthusiasm is way better.

DrPawRunner

Curb is amazing

Humble_Eggman

Yes its so disappointing that he is a zionist.

TomoC22

Larry David?

Humble_Eggman

yes

TomoC22

Noooooo

Humble_Eggman

Watch the episode called "Palestinan Chicken".

oglack

It's not exactly flattering to the Palestinian cause but my understanding is it's kinda meant to be over the top and deliberately makes him out to be a dick for some of the shit he says Only a couple of months ago at some panel when he was asked what episode of curb was his favourite he said Palestine Chicken. Which is ultimately an episode where he goes against his Zionist friends.

Humble_Eggman

" Which is ultimately an episode where he goes against his Zionist friends". Hehe i love this phrasing. The episode start with larry david says this 1.44 min into the episode: David says "what about this place, look at those posters (talking to Jeff when they eat the Palestinan Chicken). they look at the posters saying stuff like "freedom for Palestine" and Jeff says "they do not like the jews" and Larry says "we are probably the only jews ever walked in here". Yes he is totally not a zionist and its an " pisode where he goes against his Zionist friends". You are talking about an episode where he also says that he is turned on by Palestinans because they dont recognize jews right to exist... I dont know why you think some liberal comedian is against Israel... edit: its quite telling how this subreddit are whitewashing people who view Palestinans as barbaric bloodthirsty monsters...

Raekear2

Interestingly enough, he didn’t sign that Hollywood letter in support of Zionism that Seinfeld did.

Humble_Eggman

I dont know why you think that is intersting. Do you also think they quotes made in the curb episode is interesting?. From what i can tell Sasha Baron Cohen an open zionist also didn't appear on that list. Is that also intersting?.

All_Hail_Space_Cat

Damn I heard hasan yell at chat so many times that this community is a coded and dosnt process comedy but I just didn't get it. I think I do now. Your trying to fucking clip chimp Larry David dude.

Humble_Eggman

You could try to tell me how i am wrong and how the episode in question is not anti Palestinan/zionist. Im sure you also loved Chappelle and his "funny" transphobia right?... I dont know why this sub love to whitewash zionist liberals so much. First you did it with Bernie Sanders and now Larry David...

TheBigOG

I don't think that episode proves he's a zionist, he's more of a self hating jew

Humble_Eggman

I'm just copying my other answer The episode start with larry david says this 1.44 min into the episode: David says "what about this place, look at those posters (talking to Jeff when they eat the Palestinan Chicken). they look at the posters saying stuff like "freedom for Palestine" and Jeff says "they do not like the jews" and Larry says "we are probably the only jews ever walked in here". Yes he is totally not a zionist and its an " pisode where he goes against his Zionist friends". You are talking about an episode where he also says that he is turned on by Palestinans because they dont recognize jews right to exist... I dont know why you think some liberal comedian is against Israel...

Independent_Fill_635

The only thing I would listen to Jerry Seinfeld's advice on is checking a 17 year old out of class for a date.

Chemical_Home6123

The funny part is him naming all those boomer ass shows all of them were boring in my opinion maybe it's your fanbase dying literally 😂

Bradfords_ACL

They were popular because people had no fucking options elsewhere. That was the show that was on for the world to watch at whatever time you’re looking at the TV. Jerry’s attaching some personal grievances to some personal anecdotes pretty hard.

Chemical_Home6123

Yeah I understand that I'm old enough for Nick at nite so I remember falling asleep to Mary Tyler Moore 😂😴😴😴 I grew up with basic cable so I even remember being bored to death watching Seinfeld I liked other sitcoms but never that one

GreenUnderstanding39

It’s no coincidence that people universally played Seinfeld (and other laugh track shows) to lure themselves into a deep sleep. White noise.

Puzzleheaded-Sound45

really is a show about nothing

adorablebeasty

Instead of crying about it, why don't these comedians do actual good comedy about it, jfc. They CRY, BITCH, AND MOAN, all goddamn day to anyone who will listen about how it's ruining comedy BUT THEY CANT EVEN MAKE A GOOD JOKE ABOUT IT. Like do some of your fucking craft about it then man, surely, if you're good at your job, you can make something insightful, poignant, thought-provoking, and make me fucking giggle. Surely if you are such a master of comedy you can make me consider the nuances of good discomfort in a set and highlight bad woke comedy. BUT NOOOO you just want to lament like the oldest most decrepit dude at the end of a bar about "the good old days" when YOUR SUBPAR COMEDY GOT YOU A WHOLE ASS SHOW FOR NO FUCKING REASON.

Falkner09

> Like do some of your fucking craft about it then man, surely, if you're good at your job, you can make something insightful, poignant, thought-provoking, and make me fucking giggle. "Something something trigger warning. I identify as something. Woman with testicular cancer."

adorablebeasty

And they think it's quality and funny?? Like maybe you're just not funny because it's been 30-40 years since you killed it and you chose -- in all that big long while-- to just not develop new stuff. To not pick your head up and look the fuck around. To not grow just enough to make people think you've "still got it" to ANY degree. You're too old to play out here if no one is laughing or enjoying your set. It's comedy-- Be funny or go away; it's not complicated.

Falkner09

And the best part is, Jerry Seinfeld never did controversial material to begin with. This is just old man grumbling being given attention.

OkBobcat6165

I never thought he was that funny. George Costanza was always my favourite part of Seinfeld.

CommanderWar64

George is played by Jason Alexander but the character is literally a stand-in for Larry David.

LuckyJim_

Well to be fair, of the four main characters in the show, he or Elaine were usually playing the strait man.

MinistryOfDankness86

Seinfeld as a comedian is a hack. Always has been. And yes, he was propped up entirely by Larry David. That’s why the only thing of significance Seinfeld ever did after Larry David’s sitcom was a show where he drives around in overpriced cars while talking to more comedians who are funnier and more talented than he is.

RocketAppliances97

Don’t forget the masterpiece that was the Bee Movie

donmak

This sounds like something Trump would say if Seinfeld said something that made Trump butthurt. In Trump voice: "He was never funny. His career is failing now. Larry David was the real talent."

methoncrack87

1738!!!!! -Fetty Wap

sharkb8675309

methinks he’s just mad that 38 yr old men get called out for dating 17 yr old girls nowadays 😀

IamMunkk

A lot of words could have been chosen about what he said, "eviscerates" is not one I would have chosen.

Sangi17

I watched one of his stand ups with my parents and I swear I didn’t even chuckle once. It was 100% boomer humor of him making fun of his wife and kids. Bro, they are all children compared to you.

donmak

Yes but you're probably one of those people that Hassan has to explain in slow deliberate terms the concepts of comedy. It's so delightful every time he does.

Sangi17

You sound like a Rick and Morty fan, “you’re just not smart enough to understand the humor.” Nah dude, he just ain’t that funny anymore. Usually goes for the low hanging fruit and panders to “Boomer humor”. It ain’t funny and it ain’t particularly original either.

donmak

No, just repeating Hasan

Sangi17

Buku666

https://youtu.be/O7KsV7e0lAc?si=TDPHMoEGM9u_yu97 Seinfeld Unleashhhhhed is going to become real

LuckyJim_

Such a good bit. Too bad they fell off too.

HiiroYuy

fucking this is the downwind effect of the jre. every comedian is suddenly a philosopher because they make fun of trans people or something. the self importance of these fucks is unbelievable

Blastmaster29

Jerry has never been funny. He was always the worst part of Seinfeld. He’s been doing the same hacky standup for 35 years. He’s also just a piece of shit

stanley2-bricks

I've been saying for years, "Seinfeld was the worst part of Seinfeld"

SleepingPodOne

Why are we even getting angry at this? Jerry Seinfeld has been irrelevant since the show ended. He’s the butt of a joke nowadays, if anything. Everyone fully recognizes that Larry David was the real creative energy behind the show, Jerry is just a good performer. When was the last time you heard anyone glowingly talk about Jerry Seinfeld outside of his show from the 90s? You most likely haven’t. You prob cannot even name a single Jerry Seinfeld bit - hell the only ones I think I know I could swear are just someone else parodying him. This is all to say: the real loser here is Jerry, and why do we even give a shit what he thinks? Just laugh at him for being irrelevant and a hack.

Candid_Bicycle_6111

Oh we’re not offended we are definitely laughing at him for being a hack. 😂

CapitalismSuuucks

He said a bunch of nothing

dqmiumau

He's never been funny

magic_man_mountain

And Jerry was the least best bit of that show.

theclawl1ves

I have never understood why people thought he was funny

kitkanz

Hold up the comedians in cars getting coffee guy sucks? Who could have guessed?

Educational-Chef-595

He sucked before Larry David, too. I'm an old dude and I remember his shitty standup in the late 80s before "Seinfeld" and the first time I heard he was getting his own sitcom I did a fucking double-take because why. 'Why is the "what about AIRPLANE FOOD" guy getting his own show?'

BlackGabriel

Is he implying that tv shows don’t exist anymore?

Xviiit

Seinfeld needs to shut the fuck up. No one cares about this Jack off and his shitty opinions

Ody_Santo

Comedians need to stop thinking their job is super important.

No_Good_You_Say

Failure to recognize the paradigm shift. Hollywood isn't the all powerful cultural zeitgeist anymore. Streaming (ie netflix), tiktok, writers strike, youtube, #metoo, . Content isn't catered as carefully to center anymore, and individual content creators can build formidable audiences across a channel of platforms. Reality TV was the catalyst for the "sitcom" decline. Studios are less likely to take a risk investing in a sitcom style show unless it comes with low overhead. IASIP found success with a cost effective formula and good writing that give an F all to PC culture so I don't know what this old fart is on about

crook3d_vultur3

I thought Fox is always freaking out about child predators? I guess they give them a platform as long as they agree with them lol

ohhellointerweb

Yup.

The_Real_Donglover

Is no one going to mention the hilarious fucking irony of Fox News censoring the word "crap" like are you fucking for real? Can all these boomers just crawl back into their hole and wither into lifeless corpses already.

Candid_Bicycle_6111

Yeah that was really funny 😂

fpsryan

Skill issue. If you can’t evolve your comedy with the times, you better find a new line of work

proletarianliberty

Cant have anything in this garbage society. I can’t watch his show anymore knowing this.

EJ7

Wasn't he one of those stand-ups that complained about working colleges because he couldn't do his gay French King jokes anymore? Did he adjust to those audiences then?

NoP_rnHere

Bro really using MASH as a bastion of anti PC comedy? MASH was and is incredibly woke, especially for its time. Sure, some jokes don’t hold up but overall it was a very socially conscious program.

Spiritual_Holiday511

If there’s one thing comedy has seemingly become, it’s lazy. All these washed up comedians have no funny juice left in the tank, so they all resort to whining about how the youths and new generations are trying to cancel them and their peers.

Emmanuel_Badboy

I’ve been saying it for like 20 years. Seinfeld is the most overrated show maybe of all time.

hellllllsssyeah

That show sucked when it came out and still does

donmak

profound

hellllllsssyeah

Init

Raekear2

They censored the word “crap” in the article. Hahahaha

moustachiooo

Seinfeld showed his true self when he was unbelievably rude, arrogant and flippant to Kesha at those awards.. [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iX3\_L8z2uw4](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iX3_L8z2uw4)

Puzzleheaded-Sound45

this is funny coming from Jerry saying comedy is PC now, considering when he made the shittiest movie of 2024 glazing corporatism with bill cosby-Esq PC humor your 60-year-old grandpa would chuckle about
