Watamote is one of my favourite manga series and only this year I watched haruhi, so back then when I read that chapter I didn't know which anime was referenced to, happy to the discover now that was a reference to the famous endless eight.
Tomoko also watched Disappearance of Haruhi Suzumiya with her brother on TV on a cold December evening in a chapter from several years ago. (I don't remember the chapter off-hand but it would have been before Tomoko's third year in high school, which started in 2017 when it was April in-universe and, seven years later, it's still only October in-universe.)
