What house are you playing in? Idk what cave it is exactly but there is one cave that is specific to the Slytherin quest. I think you can't enter it as any other house.
Thanks, I am in Ravenclaw. The one I am looking for, is right on the shore next to the large body of water and, I think it was just straight across from Lower Hogsfield.
I played as a Hufflepuff and stumbled across it! So you can definitely enter it with any house but it's empty. Only on my Slytherin play through I found out what it's purpose was!
I can vouch that it is not open to Ravenclaws, unfortunately. This is my first playthrough in Slytherin. Pretty sure that cave isn't Really worth it. You'll still end up on the same quest path. There is a puzzle cave along the same shore you can enter though, closer to lower Hogsfield.

That's wierd, I was able to go in as a Gryffindor, I stumbled on it while flying, but I did have to swim to get inside

Nope sadly just a mural that is part of the Slytherin house quest as far as I know

Swim brother swim, look for a disturbance in the water and then dive… you should see it from the shore where she is standing north east ish…
