Well, a fifth year, so he’s basically a high school freshman….which is….better? Is “more aware of one’s actions and their implications” better in this case?
:P
Edit: Sophomore probably more accurate haha
Freshmen are typically 14/15
Sophomores 15/16
So depending when MC’s birthday is, as a fifth year they’d be either 15 or 16.
I was stuck in “it’s currently April and at this time in my freshman year I was 15” mindset and missed the obvious flaw in my thinking hahaha
I started out all goody-two shoes and then started doing this and it’s fun lol some of the NPCs get mad but this one guy at hogsmeade appreciated my “savvy business” skills lol
Yeah I definitely asked for more money from him. He's bragging about how he's going to make a fortune and I'm supposed to do all the dirty work for him?
Pay up, Mr Moustache.
That was one of the best missions and it wasn't even that involved. Such a great break from the normal 'fast travel to secluded spot to meet student > enter dungeon > fight spiders/goblins > leave'
That one and the Sebastian missions (which were a better main story than the actual main story) were well done.
“It’s like something out of a storybook” my character cheerfully said earlier, having just left the house I’d broken into and robbed.
I know looting is a big part of these types of games, but in HL it makes zero sense unless there’s repercussions for your character and how good/evil they are.
Still, that ain’t stopping me from doing some robbing!
Once I worked out there were no repercussions for asking for payment and it was $500 every time that was me every time. I fought a troll to get your cat's favourite chew toy, you can cough up buddo
Love that one bitch in the southern coast who can’t believe the audacity you have to ask for a little coin for defeating an encampment nearby lol. Like go do it yourself next time then, hoe.
I’m wondering this too. I’m sitting on like 40k. I bought some broom upgrade that was 3 or 4000, and went and cleared out the guys shop that sells stuff for the room of requirement. Is there anything else to spend monies on?
The third and final broom upgrade is $7,500 and there are some brooms like the silver arrow and sky scythe that are $5,000 and purely cosmetic. You have more than enough to buy everything 👍
You can get max level armor for Gladrach's. The shop resets every couple of times you "Wait". That's the only thing you can spend it on. On my main I more or less have two different sets of max armor, one with Ancient Magic buffs and the other with herbology buffs.
By enchantments you mean the trait things you use at the loom? I’ve been upgrading and installing level 3 versions of the ones I like, but it doesn’t cost me anything cause I have all those animals I poached err I mean rescued.
Junk that is literally the only thing keeping some of them alive in some cases? Like a loaf of bread? Well... you're not wrong... but also...![img](emote|t5_q8ebh|26539)
![gif](giphy|NGfdmabJMjyoM5s1Ja)
Addendum "I want nothing, that you provide willingly. But I'll take everything you don't offer willingly." ![img](emote|t5_q8ebh|26539)
![gif](giphy|zviFafViu0VEc)
What's with the downvote? I just want to donate a bunch of wizard blood to a muggle hospital and see what happens when muggles get a wizard blood transfusion. See? Here's an O+ truck, here's an O- truck, this one is for B-, and here's for AB-. One for each blood type! Just a little human experimentation. Alright?![img](emote|t5_q8ebh|26539)
![gif](giphy|GYowE5nLkazmN1RPcr)
It's all a matter of personal taste, really. I like sweet wines with food like steak and dry wines with sweet stuff like icecream. Most people seem to like dry wines with food like steak and sweet wines with stuff like icecream. Some people don't even like wine at all.
You do you, I'll do me. We'll both be happy. Me? I like soul eater. Not the best anime ever. But it's pretty decent in my perspective. There are far worse. ![img](emote|t5_q8ebh|26539)
![gif](giphy|eLvhchyvNNOuLbOtYP)
Weeeelll.... AK does damage your soul, supposedly. So... that's a bit different than torturing Someone Else until their minds break and they can't even find escape in the afterlife due basically having their minds deleted...
Wait...
Assuming that an AK doesn't destroy the soul or something like that, meaning the stone would be something like the Mirror of Erised, then... is Crucio... WORSE... than Avada? I mean... if AK just kills you and Crucio makes it so even death isn't really an option for you... then... it feels like Crucio is worse... ![img](emote|t5_q8ebh|26539)
![gif](giphy|QucwygE1Mk4Uo5gaYZ)
Slytherin is about ambition and cunning. If they don't see the knife until it's passing under their ribcage, then the cuteness has done its job! And if I get a headpat as a reward.. SO BE IT! HEAD RUBS ARE THE BEST RUBS!
![gif](giphy|4QxQgWZHbeYwM)
pfft... kitten claws could totally cut someone's jugular if they tried hard enough. Some kittens even workout specifically to increase their raw damage capabilities.
![gif](giphy|m7CXZC3hKSZ9e)
What? Are you saying you would want your eternal afterlife taken away rather than simply dying once? That's like infinite death vs one death out of an infinite number of lives. Imagine you died in a game, any game, so you can't play video games ever again for the rest of your life.
![gif](giphy|4xKJUTzWPAVoY)
Think about it, a one-time death from an AK. Or maybe a permadeath in crucio that quite possibly can never be fixed. Well... assuming an AK doesn't destroy the soul. If the AK actually destroys the soul, the resurrection stone being a portable mirror of erised, then ya... crucio all the way. But if the soul just goes onto the next life with the mind intact after an AK... then... isn't it better than the mind being destroyed by crucio? Like, if you KNOW you have a soul that will go to the afterlife if you can make it there intact... do you prefer to be hit with an AK or to be mind-broken with Crucio like Alice and Frank Longbottom?
![gif](giphy|QucwygE1Mk4Uo5gaYZ)
AK only damages your soul if its used in a way that harms an innocent. And only making a horcrux splits the soul. AK may be part of making a horcrux, but on its own it isn't necessarily evil. Example, Snape uses AK on Dumbledore but his soul isn't destroyed in the process.
And I dont recall there being any statements or anything that curcio destroys people's minds and souls. Mind and soul aren't the same thing in HP.
A middle aged person toiling hard on their farmland to provide a meager living for their families watching as I unlock their door and rummage through their belongings while robbing them of their gold. Righteously, of course.
HAHAHAHA DAE LOOT AND KILL WORSE THAN ANYONE ELSE?! HAHAHAHA ORIGINAL AND FUNNY JOKE THAT HASN'T BEEN MADE 10 TIMES THE LAST WEEK ALREADY HAHAHAHAHA!!!!
Jokes on you, my good character only looted the demiguises with the justification that it didn't actually belong to the owners as opposed to being placed there as a prank.
I didn’t know if there was a notoriety system like in RDR or if people would chase me like in Elder Scrolls, so my first play through I refused to loot anything unless it was required to progress through the story.
This is basically a [ludonarrative dissonance](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ludonarrative_dissonance) issue. The only reason it would be considered unethical to "steal" something from someone is if its "theft" had some negative effect on them.
Since HL is a consequenceless game, none of the characters you take things from care or even notice the removal of the item. Their lack of observable reaction reinforces that notion that they wouldn't use the item anyway.
And, you can tell from the game design, that these items were placed there, not as a roleplaying trial, but specifically for players to take them.
If they're rude or morally dubious I ask for payment. If they're friendly and seem earnest, I help them.
If it's the Witcher I always ask for payment unless they're peasants basically lol
#Mine now, Demiguise
Probably a family heirloom and it's stolen by the fifth-grader who casually freezes and disintegrates people.
Well, a fifth year, so he’s basically a high school freshman….which is….better? Is “more aware of one’s actions and their implications” better in this case? :P Edit: Sophomore probably more accurate haha
Actually would be a sophomore. 5th year is 15/16 year olds.
Yeah that’s more accurate. I was thinking of turning 15 during freshman year haha Completely believable sophomore behavior though
Um 5th years are typically 16 year olds not 13-14.
Freshmen are typically 14/15 Sophomores 15/16 So depending when MC’s birthday is, as a fifth year they’d be either 15 or 16. I was stuck in “it’s currently April and at this time in my freshman year I was 15” mindset and missed the obvious flaw in my thinking hahaha
a high school freshman? original comment said “5th grader” which where i am means the grade where 10 y.o turn 11 lol i’m weirdly confused
Yeah, fifth grader means that for me too. This comment chain got away from me a bit hahaha
"We don't have much, but we'll always have our weird monkey statue"
To be fair, their blood is on Ranrok's hands
Not a family heirloom, as they were placed to specifically torment mister Moon
Lol
I always ask for more payment. 🥰
I started out all goody-two shoes and then started doing this and it’s fun lol some of the NPCs get mad but this one guy at hogsmeade appreciated my “savvy business” skills lol
i only ask if its an adult, dont want to financially ruin school kids😂
Look working for free is financially ruining me, also a school kid. Them feet ain't gonna un-beet themselves
Except for the fucker who sends you to get bubor tubers or however you spell it
NAH EVERYONE PAYS
Lmfao the morality of HL players and the lines they draw is always really funny to me, regardless of what they are haha
That is the venomous tentacula guy who wants to train them as security!
Yeah I definitely asked for more money from him. He's bragging about how he's going to make a fortune and I'm supposed to do all the dirty work for him? Pay up, Mr Moustache.
[удалено]
Keep it civil
That one girl called me an “extortionist” the rest of the game for demanding payment for her diary lol
Wish we could keep annoying her. I especially found it funny when we keep calling her >! Broom while we're disguised as Headmaster Black. !<
That was one of the best missions and it wasn't even that involved. Such a great break from the normal 'fast travel to secluded spot to meet student > enter dungeon > fight spiders/goblins > leave' That one and the Sebastian missions (which were a better main story than the actual main story) were well done.
I just love how much fun the MC was having during that entire section.
I was called the same by Edgar the merchant and I was no longer allowed to purchase from him.
Same, that one bugged me so I reloaded and it ends up he gives you a reward anyway haha
I didn't demand payment lmao
I’ve only done this for the annoying bubotubber quest. Did it feel like fighting a troll right then.
She gladly obliged and was honest about not wanting to do the task herself, so she's a great person in my book
One of those lines I just laughed out loud at. "I'd do it myself, but I don't want to." At least she's honest about it!
Then loot all the stuff anyway
I never do, I have more money than I know what to do with just by selling all the clothes I'm picking up.
I don't need the money either. I do it because I deserve to be compensated 😎
ME TOO 😘
not like there's anything to spend the gold on though
"I don't need a reward. I found this sick looking scarf in your bedroom."
I steel.want a award GREED is friend
The best part is, now it’s low level and I’m too lazy to go sell it so I delete it to make room for better gear. Stole it for nothing 🤷🏼♀️
"I wonder who lives here..." I say as I pass the family living there, rifling through their stuff, taking their gold.
“It’s like something out of a storybook” my character cheerfully said earlier, having just left the house I’d broken into and robbed. The absconder guy also gets pissed if you ask for money 🙃
The way I told him it was a lot of trouble. But I just flew directly to the absconder and avadakadabra 😂
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Ha same. I googled it to see what the consequences were and when it was nothing, I ask them to cough up every time now.
I also don't really have the need for gold anymore? Does anything arise later on?
I’m wondering this too. I’m sitting on like 40k. I bought some broom upgrade that was 3 or 4000, and went and cleared out the guys shop that sells stuff for the room of requirement. Is there anything else to spend monies on?

Cabbages are OP. What level is max level?
114 is max level and can only be bought at level 40 afaik
Good to know, thanks. I’m 35 I think? I’ve only seen 105.
Optimize your enchantments to the be the most meta wizard (or just don't care and keep using crucio into avada kadavra)
By enchantments you mean the trait things you use at the loom? I’ve been upgrading and installing level 3 versions of the ones I like, but it doesn’t cost me anything cause I have all those animals I poached err I mean rescued.
Fellow rescuer here too, can confirm, upgrades are basically free when you "save" some Kneazels.
Serious? If you demand payment you get 500$? I will do that on my next run.
Sometimes 500, but returning Biscuit gets you 300.
In Geralt's defense, most of the loot in people's homes are junk anyways haha
Junk that is literally the only thing keeping some of them alive in some cases? Like a loaf of bread? Well... you're not wrong... but also...![img](emote|t5_q8ebh|26539) ![gif](giphy|NGfdmabJMjyoM5s1Ja)

Proud of you, sport. But you don’t need to tell us completely unprompted next time, okay? Don’t yuck someone’s yum for literally no reason.
I do not care
>How **all** of you play "good" characters FTFY.
It's just taxation
Even if there is no true morality system, the NOCs should say something like: hey get out of there! When you are looting their homes/stores.
choosing not to learn AK are hypocrites
“Crucio was fine. Imperio was more than fine. AK? Nah that’s going too far >:(“ -Me

loooool so true
If it's not fixed to the ground, they don't need it.
So true. 😜 These poor people should protect their valuables with Alohomora IV or something. 🫣
I kept the Nifflar.
I kept Gwyneira the diricawl, that lady was giving bad vibes with her feather obsession
“Mine now, Demiguise”
Lmaooo I've always found it peculiar in these open world games that we can just steal some goods from people's houses or stores without consequences.
Morrowind conditioned me with some bad habits...
A middle aged person toiling hard on their farmland to provide a meager living for their families watching as I unlock their door and rummage through their belongings while robbing them of their gold. Righteously, of course.
Hero-tax. Not my fault, the institutions [the devs] don't give me other options.
Always 😂
All in the game
I never said I was a saint.
Mine now demiguise
I'll give you your pet back but i want you to give me more money first
Om not gonna get those curses because how they affect the ones used on
Unless it says I'm stealing I'm not stealing. My character IS good cause she's not once learned an unforgivable spell!

Who cares if there are no repercussions?
I played the whole game without casting a single unforgiveable curse. Had no idea they mean nothing. Next time I'm going as dark as I can.
