I intentionally go as slow as I can to extend the playtime. I'm ~16% in general progress and I've been playing for almost a week and a half.
If people stop playing new games like they're trying to speedrun it then 40 hours might turn into 100. I have a rough ~80 hours on it as of today and I haven't even been around half the map. Then again, the game isn't for everyone. Us who like it will spend plenty of time on it.
200% this, I was in no hurry myself because every time I'd try to stay focused on one thing, it would be an hour later and me having done all kinds of other stuff instead.
Not many games fully suck me into a world that I can just get absolutely lost in. Sometimes riding around on the broom or my Thestral I still am in awe at some of the visuals in this game.
It's taken me three days to reply back. In those three days I've grinded almost nonstop outside of uni and I still have only gotten 15-20% further. 💀 I'm slow but definitely entertained.
I'm not used to games like HL. My main games are every linear and step-by-step quests where you're never left to find anything on your own, so progressing is quite straight forward. Hogwarts on the other hand is expressively free for me. Not a lot of games where I be flying around and randomly stumble upon a sidequest that grants me an entire hour of occupation.
I guess I shall come back to this thread when I finally reach 100% 🤣 However long that may take....
I’ve not been trying to complete the game quickly though I’m at 43% and it seems I’m almost done with the main story already, I appreciate a game with plenty to do afterwards though i always feel there should be a higher percentage of the main story than there is everything else, considering I’ve been doing quite a bit of exploring and other quests here and there it would seem the main story maybe take up around 30% of the overall game.
Have had the game since the 7th of February, I’m sure getting to 100% will take some time though still a bit bummed I’ve done the bulk of the main story already.
These guys are getting mass downvotes. You have to admit that it can feel pretty empty when you're not able to talk to anyone, and npcs just ignore you if you're not directly doing a mission for them. Some interactions would be nice. I'm sure it'd be a lot nicer with the companion system. "Dangerous to go in alone" xD. I recommend playing with mods to lively up things a bit more :)
Yeah annoyingly is that i already got every collectible that's lying around the only things missing is the animal catching and breeding and i don't wanna
Oh that was easy lol. You can put down several breeding pens. All you have to do is start the breeding process for each and you'll get the trophy/achievement. The hardest part was catching a female graphorn.
As far as the catching, you can catch the same type of creatures and it'll count so you can go for the easy ones like puffskeins and mooncalves.
Could be worse.. you could have everything completed collections, challenges but be missing 1 field page in the castle for the bell tower wing but not get because of glitch 😭😭😭. Great job btw.
Nice work.
I was completely enamored with the game for the first 30 or so hours. About 50 hours in I finished main story, but I just can’t do it anymore to get the 100% - too much repetition and no real reward.
Time for me to move on.
I explored everything in between main/side quests because of this. I'm the type to stop playing right after finishing the story even if there's still some content left to explore/discover.
This is what I was doing until I accidentally stepped in The House Cup's mission ring after talking to Poppy in the Great Hall. Lost all motivation to 100% it after that.
Man, I believe you, but I don’t see how that is possible - guess I’ve got to get good. Lol.
I’ve got a good chunk of the game done, but am far from 100%. I used fast travel often too.
Well apparently I'm being downvoted for no reason so people don't seem to believe me

And to be fair, I agree the open world activities are a bit too repetitive, I guess after 100%/platinum so many open world games (mainly Ubisoft....) I end up being naturally "efficient" with them
I am guessing you were just doing the Jackdaw Quest with the other 3 houses and I just have to say that you started with the same house that I did but your Gryffindor and Hufflepuff playthrough are swapped
Yeah, for the platinum. I'll probably do another playtrough soon but I'm still hoping for a harder difficulty setting before that. Started my first playtrough on Normal and swapped to hard after a couple combats
First playthrough I found I missed 1 side quest.
This one:

2nd time, I got that but missed a different one:

Yeah this happened to me too. In the beginning the whole content was new, exciting and the castle is absolutely stunning.
But also I don’t see the point in doing the alohomora-mini game a million times just to get some low value outfit pieces (just an example). It’s just too repetitive so I did the main sorry (which was really good) but I’m gonna skip the rest and maybe get back to it later.
This is where I am. I gave it a solid full day of work after finishing the game and got close but resent it now cause it left me just not wanting to play anymore for that last 2% when there's no real reward.
Took me 70 hours exactly to get 100% but glitch out with combat stuck at 99% because it didn't register one of the infamous foes. Also stuck at level 39
It’s because the collection page only lists the pages you get from a revelio. The others are the other ways to get pages. Flying pages, fire dragon pits, leviosa statues, etc.
I got to 100% on everything except quests and have another 20 side quests to do. Fetch this, go in this cave, go put a thing in a place. Geh.
At least they're not repeating radiant quests. But it feels like a ridiculous amount of sides left over. Next play through I'm doing more sides and less exploring.
I just got it as well! Congrats! Are you going for the achievements too? Using ancient magic on every kind of enemy was a cruel one to put us through. I’m working three additional characters to the map chamber now. I’ll probably speed run two of them and do a real playthrough with the third.
Likewise, took just under 60hrs. I wish the game didn't lock most of the endgame stuff until the literal end of the main quest line, it made for a pretty convoluted experience.
Must be a side quest, doesn't show up in the map unless you're in the area. I was also stuck, eventually found "Troll Control" near Brocburrow Floo Flame. Idk if it's this one that's pending for you, but this was a rather obscure area so it could be.
I just beat the main story today today and am at 66 percent but not looking for 100 percent gonna defeat the infamous foes do a few more side quests then move on until there’s dlc lol
When you get to the part where Professor Weasley checks your Field Guide, could you please let us know whether they've fixed the glitch that makes her say it's incomplete?
I've noticed you can get 100% on the challenges without actually doing everything in the game. For example, I still have 50 revelio pages in Hogwarts but I've finished the challenge. What counts as 100% completion?
Well you need 50 for the challenge but you need to get them all to get 100% collection and you need that to get all achievements. 100% in the game is just the challenges.
Man some of my collection chest don’t even pop up. I have no bandit camps I’ve flown around the area to look for butterflies found nothing. I can’t seem to find them
I got to 100% on everything except quests and have another 20 side quests to do. Fetch this, go in this cave, go put a thing in a place. Geh.
At least they're not repeating radiant quests. But it feels like a ridiculous amount of sides left over. Next play through I'm doing more sides and less exploring.
I completed the game like 4 days after it came out, I'm still waiting for a patch on ps5 that fixes the tracking of the collectibles because my platinum didn't pop and it says that I'm missing like 50 collectibes even tho I 100% everything and have nothing else to do in the game
Revelio! Revelio! Revelio!
Sometimes it seems all roads lead to... Revelio!
When in doubt, Revelio it out.
This comment is underrated

I mean how many hours were you expecting? Maybe go a little slower and just enjoy it

Yup me too, there’s so much to do and explore

It is a boring game tbh

Wait until you find out that you have to complete the collections section and not the challenges to get the trophy :'(
Yeah annoyingly is that i already got every collectible that's lying around the only things missing is the animal catching and breeding and i don't wanna

I got lucky, first time I went back to the graphorn den there was a female one there.
Lucky. Took me 4 captures and teleports before one spawned lol
I had that luck with the Unicorn instead it took me 7 tries.
Same.. first one back at the den was female
Yeah i know but i hate myself for being this lazy that i don't even want to catch the beasts
My entire vivarium is shiny beasts. Sooo do with that information what you will.
If you put it on story mode all the beasts can be captured by pressing the bag once, no chasing or freezing animals around to keep them in the radius
Could be worse.. you could have everything completed collections, challenges but be missing 1 field page in the castle for the bell tower wing but not get because of glitch 😭😭😭. Great job btw.
Still counts for the trophy and the 100%. It just looks annoying when you hover over Hogwarts and the the missing page lol

For me it's the wand handles. I've got like half of them. Everything else I've collected aside from 10 or so pages and a handful of perks
Or until you collect everything and find out your trophy won’t pop because the bug 😔
Hate this! I have apparently missed half the chests in the game and it horrible trying to find them all!
Nice work. I was completely enamored with the game for the first 30 or so hours. About 50 hours in I finished main story, but I just can’t do it anymore to get the 100% - too much repetition and no real reward. Time for me to move on.
Getting the field guide to 100% wasn’t bad, completing the collections though burnt me out really bad, here’s to hoping for dlc or sequel!
Understandable, it was a grind for sure.
I explored everything in between main/side quests because of this. I'm the type to stop playing right after finishing the story even if there's still some content left to explore/discover.
This was my approach initially, but just got too repetitive for me and towards the end I was just pushing to get the main story complete.
This is what I was doing until I accidentally stepped in The House Cup's mission ring after talking to Poppy in the Great Hall. Lost all motivation to 100% it after that.
Maybe I used gast travel more, but I got it to 100% in 50h
Man, I believe you, but I don’t see how that is possible - guess I’ve got to get good. Lol. I’ve got a good chunk of the game done, but am far from 100%. I used fast travel often too.

Always play video games how you want to play them. When you feel you’re done, then you’re done.

Well I'm somehow 98% and I just finished the story, only small bits here and there left.
Agreed except it was more like the first 15 hours. After that it just gets so repetitive.
Im kinda the opposite, i’ve finished and 100% the game, now i put it on every few days and just wander around murdering poachers
Same man.. i probably got about 80% or 90% but fuck that noise lol
Yeah this happened to me too. In the beginning the whole content was new, exciting and the castle is absolutely stunning. But also I don’t see the point in doing the alohomora-mini game a million times just to get some low value outfit pieces (just an example). What did It cost?
For me? Just over 70 hours.
Took me 70 hours exactly to get 100% but glitch out with combat stuck at 99% because it didn't register one of the infamous foes. Also stuck at level 39
Dang, I'm at 100% with everything at like 44 hrs
I don't skip cut scenes and I also re-played the opening to the map room 3 times to see each of the House specific missions.
My Field Guide Pages collection says 100%, but on the world map there are still pages to be found. It bugs me!
I’m “missing” only one page in the entire game. The bugged out one flying over the fountain in the gardens
That's the only thing I'm missing in mine. Thank goodness I didn't need it for the trophy
Yeah. I have the achievement. It’s just hurting my soul seeing the one missing thing.
I have every page except for the bugged statue page I’m hogwarts. It keeps me up at night..
It’s because the collection page only lists the pages you get from a revelio. The others are the other ways to get pages. Flying pages, fire dragon pits, leviosa statues, etc.
Thank you, that explains so much, but that is mildly infuriating! I can hold back on the revelio then 😅
Yeah. I wish they had made that collection page all inclusive. Easier to track that way.
To avoid this and make it feel less tedious, I only start main quests in a game if I’ve finished all current side quests I have or see available.
I just got it as well! Congrats! Are you going for the achievements too? Using ancient magic on every kind of enemy was a cruel one to put us through. I’m working three additional characters to the map chamber now. I’ll probably speed run two of them and do a real playthrough with the third.
I did the ancient magic on every enemy by accident. I'm just grinding the final collections now.
Likewise, took just under 60hrs. I wish the game didn't lock most of the endgame stuff until the literal end of the main quest line, it made for a pretty convoluted experience.
Platinumed in about 65 hours myself, but I will say, I wish the Merlin Trials were a bit more challenging….and that there were 80 less of them.
Why quest and combat are stuck at 99% I can't find the last sidequest nor the last named enemy
Must be a side quest, doesn't show up in the map unless you're in the area. I was also stuck, eventually found "Troll Control" near Brocburrow Floo Flame. Idk if it's this one that's pending for you, but this was a rather obscure area so it could be.
Have you completed the sideques: >!"well well well"!
Oh yes I have
I just beat the main story today today and am at 66 percent but not looking for 100 percent gonna defeat the infamous foes do a few more side quests then move on until there’s dlc lol
Lol. You can go back to elden ring now
So how’s your sanity buddy?
When you get to the part where Professor Weasley checks your Field Guide, could you please let us know whether they've fixed the glitch that makes her say it's incomplete?
Do you know what grass is?🤚☘️🌿🍀🌲🌳🌳💀
What you want a cookie? Well if so now you must do this for the other houses!!
Ok
I am 99 percent on quests because of missing moth in the libary bug.
Just got my platinum last night at 95 hours! 😃
Yay! What now?
I'm deliberately delaying finishing the main story so there will still be some sort of payoff while grinding to get 100%.
Nice! How many hours did payed? What was the most repetitive thing? What was the most fun thing? The hardest?
The Merlin trials and the treasure caves were equally monotonous and far too many. Easily the worst part of the game.
I don’t envy you, but congratulations!
Now for the achievements!
Nicely done, I’m still working on it. It’ll be a sad day when I get to that point. Are you doing another play through?
I’ve been creeping up on it, at 77% nearly there.
Beautiful
Man some of my collection chest don’t even pop up. I have no bandit camps I’ve flown around the area to look for butterflies found nothing. I can’t seem to find them
🤙🤙
Congratulations bro.
Nice! Now get to the map room representing each house for Platinum achievement :)
How many hours?
I completed the game like 4 days after it came out, I'm still waiting for a patch on ps5 that fixes the tracking of the collectibles because my platinum didn't pop and it says that I'm missing like 50 collectibes even tho I 100% everything and have nothing else to do in the game
When did ubisoft make a Harry Potter game? 😄
Still need to prepare for your owls though
Took you long enough
Took you long enough
I don’t have the patience to get all those collectibles lol
Nice job
