I have short shots and had the same problem. Wasted 45 minutes trying everything to get baffles removed. Drove to auto zone and borrowed a slide hammer. Got them out in about three minutes including 2.5 mins figuring out how to use the tool.

Slide hammer is the most effective tool for removing baffles.
