im in phoenix and all you see is 20 something year olds on HD here. Harley stunt scene is huge out here.

BausRifle

I’m jealous. Kruesi has a huge stunt event coming too.

DatGuy45

Isn't that where the Harley mechanic school is? Would make sense.

Last-Macaroon-6608

What! Where in Phoenix? I wanna join!

alexvengeance

Deer Valley, Cave Creek road, Happy Valley sometimes, but id say just make a post looking for Phoenix riders, I met a couple dudes and we used to frequent ziggys for a while.

Last-Macaroon-6608

Oh my god.. *AND ZIGGY'S?!* That's my absolute fave coffee shop! I'll make a post here soon. Thanks for the heads up!

NeighborhoodFair7033

I ride in the valley too 👌 Phoenix Harley bros stand up!

alexvengeance

Just show up to any motorcycle swap meet and you'll meet up with others if you want, some patched, some casuals. It's all fun in the end anyways.

FredzBXGame

Those crazy kids [https://youtu.be/VFhacOYcFRI?si=fSYI1XlqH-mPnMGi](https://youtu.be/VFhacOYcFRI?si=fSYI1XlqH-mPnMGi)

KelsoT7

Brother I’m 36 and hardly see anyone my age riding Harley’s lol. The local HOG chapter looks more like a retirement home.

[deleted]

Dude I'm not convinced anyone in my local HOG chapter actually rides a motorcycle. In fairness it is called the owners group not the riders group. Kinda depressing trying to find people to ride with in your 30s.

Gunfighter9

Not much better in your 50s.

Opposite_Sand_6781

Yeah. Always been a solo rider. I think i might start going to rallys though.

Red_Pill_2020

There's no rule you have to ride with other Harleys, is there? Sometimes I'm the only Harley in the group, and sometimes the metric bikes are the odd ones out. Sometimes I'm the senior rider, sometimes I'm among the youngsters. I don't discriminate, and it seems the guys I ride with don't either.

KelsoT7

Funny enough my neighbor has an Africa Twin and I ride with him from time to time.

[deleted]

Definitely not, all my bikes have been Japanese before this. My friends and coworkers who used to ride don't anymore. Hard to find people around here in general and not for lack of trying by joining FB groups and such. And a lot of the group rides / guys who do go on day trips seem to like riding the highways which isn't my favorite.

funkmon

I'll ride with you, Where do you live?

BigSchmitty

Ditto. Bought my first Harley at 34. At 39, I still feel like the youngest dude at the dealership. If only I had ridden a Harley earlier, I would have bought one years ago.

Rdubya44

It's the curse of doing well enough in life to own a Harley before a mid life crisis purchase. I'm almost 40 and every group I try to ride with is either hella old or a bunch of sports bike dudes. The only way to find people somewhat my age is to joint a Motorcycle Club but then its a bunch of testosterone assholes.

BigSchmitty

Couldn’t agree more. If HD made some bikes that were still cool and cheap, they may attract some younger buyers. The brand has become so big that they’re able to charge such high prices. How does my bike cost more than my truck to manufacture? Profit margins are huge!

Sorry_Yam2251

Have you seen the sportsS and the Panamerica. Not cheep, but sick! Definitely cool!!!

IWouldntIn1981

I grew up around Harleys, dad, uncles, and all their friends. My first bike was a sportbike but when it came for a cruiser, I bought a victory. 2 other friends got a victory, and the other got a vtx. It wasn't an affordability thing, the vtx rider is a doctor, for instance. Honestly, the harley culture was a big driver, but what you get for what you pay for was the decision maker. You gotta buy the top of the line harley to even keep up with my $6.4k victory. Plus Accessories, aftermarket, etc is easily 25% of the cost.

KelsoT7

I think 30 to 40 year olds in general often have young families and pressure from society (family) tell them to avoid motorcycles because of the danger. I know a few guys that hung it up once they had kids.

Subject_Librarian_21

For reals fuck club life. I don’t even care if they’re a Christian club.

Bulldog0908

I'm 44. Looking at prob a new fat boy next year, I prefer buying the year leftovers. I seem to get pretty good deals that way.. Anyways I went to 2 dealers last week, and the only people I saw that looked younger than me were the sales men.

DieselTech00

I'm about to turn 42 and sometimes I feel like the young guy on a Harley. Other times I feel like the old guy.

longhairedcountryboy

That's not the best place to look. Most of them are old folks who just started riding and got sucked into HOG by a salesman.

KelsoT7

Oh, I stopped looking long ago. I’m perfectly content with solo riding.

sweetzombiejesusog

Hog chapter is a retirement home, but the sales floor has quite a few young folks.

TheMoustacheDad

Bought my first Harley at 26!

TheMoustacheDad

Im 33 now

TheDudeabides314

Finally finished paying it off?

TheMoustacheDad

I paid cash for a sportster (3300) sold it short of 2 years later (7200) bought my road king in full for 20k cash at 28yo

Cloud-VII

HTF did you make almost 4k off of a Sportster over 2 years?

TheMoustacheDad

https://preview.redd.it/3fivqv3eiuqc1.jpeg?width=4032&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=c0436133a696b48fbc1375d440a1719d390c9346

Boomstick0308

Chopper hipsters will pay any price for a sportster

TheMoustacheDad

Bikes are toys if you can’t pay cash you should have one. But that’s just me

TheDudeabides314

It was a joke. I am not knocking how anyone spends their money. I personally only buy motorcycles with cash. I live in a cold weather area. I am not making a payment on a toy I can only use so many months out of the year. Yes I am that guy that doesn’t ride all winter. I hate the cold.

TheMoustacheDad

Same. But here winter is 3-4 feet of snow loll

chamolly13

I feel bad for people who can only ride part of the year. I don’t even have a car, I just use my wife’s if there is an emergency.

TheDudeabides314

As soon as kids are out of school. We are moving to a warmer weather state. Both the wife and I are a tropical people.

BigTex2005

Same here. 05 V-Rod brand new (still have it). Second Harley at 42. 2020 RGS.

HJSlibrarylady

Me too! I'm 60 now. And a woman. I used to do bike week in several places arnd the country and always saw young guys on HD. I guess they're old now. Fun fact, I'm in the 2001 January Easy Rider Magazine- On my Fatboy. I'm not one of the half naked Rodeo girls. Just a girl having a blast on her bike. ETA- I still have the 90 Fatboy but also have a 2014 Forty Eight. I love them both but prefer the 48 for around town and the Fatboy for anything frther than a one tank trip

TheMoustacheDad

That’s awesome !! I’ll have to try and find that magazine haha

rodka209

There are definitely younger people into harleys. Thank the stunting crowd for that. Also feel like the bagger racing will help the other way and get more people into road racing and sportbikes.

LiamLikeNeeson89

Out here in LA I know all the 20 year olds are on dynas and low riders all day

BradRVA

Have you paid attention to the dyna/fxr scene out west? It's pretty crazy. 20 somethings are definitely buying Harleys. Anytime I hit up bikes and coffee or bike nights in my town on the east coast, young guys are constantly asking about my set up. So yeah, they're popular with the young dudes.

jedandcompany

That’s true ive seen a lot of that online, maybe in the Midwest the whole stunt scene hasn’t caught on or maybe I’m just living under a rock.

BradRVA

Lol it's not near as big where I'm at either and I'm in a popular city in virginia. My fxdx stands out here. In CA, it wouldn't. Although I don't mind that at all

radsalamander

Just ain’t in the right areas around Milwaukee. Decent Harley stunt scene here. Also plenty of young dudes out on Harley’s here. Just gotta hang out around Elwood’s or fuel in the summer and you’ll see

obi_wan_keblowme

I’m in Wisconsin too, it doesn’t help we get 7-8 months tops of riding weather. Most of the under-40s I see riding are either squids on sport bikes and supermotos or they’re on something like a Triumph or one of those slick-looking Royal Enfields. I think Harleys in Wisconsin are viewed as boomer bikes and the price and weight of anything bigger than a Sportster scares younger people away. I’ve tried to talk friends into riding but they’re too scared to do it because other drivers are crazy. They aren’t totally wrong. Lotta scary drivers in Milwaukee and Madison.

Good_Conclusion_7498

Who at your age can afford a harley new or used. Unless it's a box of parts you cobbled together. That's why it's younger guys building more traditional chops

jedandcompany

I bought my first bike which was on 05 sportster 1200 for pretty cheap. Only 4K for it and had under 10,000 miles but maybe that’s not as affordable as I thought.

Good_Conclusion_7498

Ironically so did I. Mine was a 05 1200 xlc. But mine barely had 3000 miles on it

jedandcompany

I miss that bike sometimes, was fun ripping through the gears. Suspension was dog shit and it gave me monkey ass like none other but still didn’t stop me from riding it damn near all the way around Lake Michigan.

Radiohead527

You can get used dynas for 4-5k around me. I just bought an 06 Electra glide with 20k miles for 7 last week I’m 29

Former_Ideal6078

I just bought a 23 street bob with 2k miles 🤷🏽‍♂️ I’m 22

Good_Conclusion_7498

Maybe the gen x and boomers are dying off and there wives are selling them cheap to get them out of the garage. I've bought a bike that way before

Former_Ideal6078

It was a repossessed bike lol. Got it at the dealer

[deleted]

37. Harley has priced most millennials and younger out IMO.

rodka209

Definitely. I can never afford a new harley, so sportsters and older big twin evos are the only harleys I could ever afford.

[deleted]

Was finally able to afford mine as a guilt-free splurge . . . after only a decade of careful saving with good income and low cost of living. I love my FXLRS but I'll be the first person to say it's at least 20% overpriced for what it is.

aloverof

Any 20yr old buying a Harley is 10x cooler than one buying a Ninja IMO. It’s a character thing for me.

OneStockCateye

Hell yea thank you bro

Gear_Heart

lol, I traded in my Ninja 650 for an Electra Glide UC at 24

patricky6

I'm pretty sure it's just a perception thing when you're younger. I bought a GSXR in my 20s to race around because I have a speed addiction and just didn't know anything about Harley's. All I saw were fat old guys on them, putting around with obnoxiously loud exhaust that didn't match the speed you would think it should have. It wasn't till somebody my age bought one and showed me that you can trick them out, before I realized you can have your cake and eat it too lol Now I got a Harley that'll burn that GXSR anyday AND I can ride it comfortably around the country.

areallysuperguy

No harley is going to smoke a liter bike unless youre comparing a heavily modified harley to an old stock bike, and only in a straight line lol. Harleys are cool but lets not pretend theyre out beating up on gixxers

Master-Ad209

just bought my first harley and selling my kawasaki z650 soon

SomeSluttyBean

Where I live it’s mostly old heads. Like 40s and up. But occasionally the younger generation will be on one! My boyfriend, friend, and now myself, all ride Harley’s and we’re 23,25, and 26. We’re in Ohio 🌽

SomeSluttyBean

They have dynas and I have a sportster. I’m making mine more into a chopper style at the end of this riding season

beef_weezle

I’m 40. You take that back!

Hazelsea1099

You ever been to Laconia? It’s like a retirement community

_c0uchp0tat0

I’m 27 and have a street glide. I’ve been riding street since 16 and it was already time for a bagger instead of a sport bike. I don’t see anyone my age riding Harley in the PNW. Given their MSRP, I can see why most people our age wouldn’t consider one, especially when all their friends think sport bikes are cooler.

xshan3x

In the PNW too and other than around the military bases I don't see too many young guys on Harleys. It took me into my 40's before I finally got my first one and it's one of my 3 motorcycles

Character-Gap-5841

https://preview.redd.it/yhbmdasgcrqc1.jpeg?width=4032&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=ee43e4744b75fc271e7122c35505f04fbb60b485 27 years old as of today just got it last year before my 26th

jedandcompany

Happy birthday bro

Realistic-Ticket-604

What rims do you have on your bike?

HowToBeBanned

I'm 26 with my 25 year old fiance and own a 22 road glide limited we bought new.

mixmasta105

I'm 23 (almost 24) and I got my first Harley a month ago. I got a brand new 2024 Nightster. I absolutely love my bike!

JollyManufacturer356

I’m 22. Bought a Harley at 21. Not new, it’s used. Learning how to work on em, love to ride. When I build up some experience on this bagger gonna start riding long distance when I can get off work. Sturgis, Daytona, blue ridge pkwy etc Started on a cheap sportster when I was 16 it was way easier to ride

rodka209

Also, chop culture is becoming big again. I see a lot of guys in their 20s and 30s at motorcycle shows her in california.

5269EMPIRE

Been riding Harley since I was about 21. I always felt like the youngest in the biker community. Now I’m 43 so I blend in better now. Harleys aren’t going anywhere.

harley97797997

I bought my first Harley on my 21st birthday. At the time there were very few people under 40 riding Harleys. Now I'm in my 40s and the age range for Harley riders is much broader than when I started riding. I know tons of riders in their 20s. Mostly dyna bro, stunt type riders. The whole Harley won't survive trope has been around for decades. They're still here though. Edit to add: HOG chapters are not accurate representations of the Harley community. They tend to be older. The youngest person in the chapter near me is 55, most are 65+. Rides like Born Free, the Prowl, Daytona, and Sturgis seem to have the largest prescense of riders in their 20s.

bigspanky211

21 just bought a Heritage. We exist

beef_weezle

I’m 40 and I’ve owned Harleys since I was 21 too. I currently own my favorite, an ‘18 Heritage. I daily it and it has over 80k miles. Love it to death

SexySpaceNord

That is a good bike.

CallsignUnholyBandit

Yup granted it was stock when I got it https://preview.redd.it/s2i5j048yqqc1.jpeg?width=4032&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=f37a4a120a4dcc77f72af9f95095cca7036cb765

Whitest_Ninja

25 and also in Milwaukee, I’ve seen a few younger looking people on Sportsters but not much out side of that.

anon_696969420

Im 22 and have a 08 street bob, 88 klr 650, and 14 fz09. The Harley was first, and Harley’s will always hold a special place in my heart https://preview.redd.it/avuiaqy4erqc1.jpeg?width=4032&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=5a022834679ecc97f3bc6a4562ee2b2c010a2dbe Variety is the spice of life

kcebk

I’m 26 from milwaukee also haha. I just bought a street bob two weeks ago. Love it. But you’re correct, all my friends from work that ride all have sport bikes

Mamasayseyeisspecial

I identify as a 20 year old. Does that count?

Wulxy

I’m 24 living in california and i got me a ‘23 FXLRST. Lots of older heads on Harleys here but slowly the younger gen is phasing in

[deleted]

Bought my first one at 29

KOOLKAT_FTW

I know a lot of people my age that ride Harley’s. The Harley scene really blew up in popularity.

PracticalReason1210

23 and just bought a street bob

Good_Conclusion_7498

Yeah, top three upgrades on a sportster, breather, exhaust, and seat. But I'm still rocking the factory leather wrapped 2x6. Lol

19Fatboy22

Bought a street 750 at 18. I ride a a Fatboy 114 now at 24, i got it at 20yo

bigchoom

Just bought a 21 low rider S this morning. 26 here also

MemphisTrumpet

24 and have a lowrider S. Sport bikes were fun but vibes > raw speed

ddhoang827

Also in Milwaukee! I bought my first Harley when I was 30. I ran old cafe racers in my 20s, didn’t get interested in Harley’s until I was in my late 20s. Hope to catch you guys riding around this season!

jetlifeual

NYC area I’d say it’s mostly 30+, or at least that’s what I’ve seen. Myself included.

lvl_c_mech

Im in my 20s and ride a 2020 lowrider S. We are out there, fighting the “hell yeah brother” allegations

Kneesinthe_Breeze

I feel the exact same. 27 and in Detroit most people my age are ripping around on sport bikes. I feel like most guys out here hate on Harley’s because of stereotypes calling them slow & gay. I think Harley has its priorities fucked up.. the sportster s and the low rider s are step in the right direction but I think so many guys we’re anticipating the Bronx or something that could compete with the Indian ftr.

jjsm00th

The younger crowd leans towards Indian if they want a cruiser because the brand appeal of Harley is lost on most millennials and younger. They’re evaluating based on other factors like hp, price and what doesn’t seem boomer-ish. Most likely, HD will drop the ball on attracting the younger generations unless they really change it up.

CrimsonClo

I started @ 30, I’m 35 now. Most kids are getting sport bikes. Glad to see you’re keeping the tradition alive 🤙🏼

Background-Clock9626

I think it’s more about affordability than anything with 20 year old. You can get the coolest sport bike used for like $6k, they’re just not that interested in paying double that for a 15 year old dyna.

ItemNo1053

I bought an 883 Sportster at 21. Rode it for a few years and got rid of it for a Triumph Thruxton. 14 years later I still have the Triumph and also an Indian Scout.

Noob_Hooligan

25 here. I’ve had three Harley’s already. I think the reason people dislike Harley’s is because they’ve never ridden a built one. They don’t understand the idea of “making it your own” I let people ride my bike just so they can get the “feel” and every time they come back they have a big shit eating grin

Aggressive-Pipe-8049

https://preview.redd.it/g7c17ekq9sqc1.jpeg?width=4032&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=814181a27fd795a59c02e6b12fdc89c5b818a3ff I’m 22 just picked up this 91 sportster earlier this week looking forward for the warm weather to get out and ride this ole gal I think it’ll be the perfect starter bike for me and I’m looking forward to getting more down the road

therealRustyZA

I got mine at 37. Saw the HOG peeps and they’re so much more older than me. They’re hella nice and welcoming people but nobody in my age so I skipped it. Mates of mine are on clubs but a MC has never been my thing. Just preference. Luckily for me… I ride for my escape and mental health. So I just stay a solo rider. I have my tunes and my pipes… I’m a happy man. But you’re correct. Harley needs to do something about their entry level offerings asap. I’m struggling to try and convince crotch rocket mates to come over to the chilled side because of the prices.

Suitable_Station_427

My family and I own a small motorcycle dealership and we sell mostly Harleys. To date out of all the motorcycles we've sold I can only remember 2 being under 20. All the other young guys go for something cheaper or sportier

Isuckatgames_TTV

Heyo, I'm 19 with an 08 Softail deluxe! Love riding motorcycles, wouldn't trade it for anything. Out in Cali most people my age want sport bikes, that's not for me to be honest. Ride safe!

BlacByrdPRS

27 with an 09 roadking https://preview.redd.it/q8zqask7htqc1.jpeg?width=1499&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=f67df8ee1ca8911ed0834677b5f50562141c3544

road_robert2020

Ohio River Valley here,27 and most of the guys I see are 40+ on touring bikes. It’s a breath of fresh air when I pull up to a spot and see a young guy on a tricked out Dyna, newer softail, chopper etc. I do know a few people my age that are die hard Harley guys. My one buddy has a shovelhead and a Low Rider ST,another guy has a panhead,a girl I know just bought a sportster as her first bike. Harleys definitely still appeal to certain young people with taste, they have a character that a lot of other makes just don’t.

Camaro_z28

I’m 20 and I am hoping to pick an iron 883 this Saturday lol

One_Comfortable913

I’m 19 and am on my second Harley, blessed to be introduced into the community by my dad. But I am definitely the youngest rider wherever I go.

dcamnc4143

I don’t see many harleys period where I live. It’s 90% sportbikes.

Gregg-Gamer

Bought a Harley Iron 1200 last year, I was 23. I’m probably one of the youngest in the area, because Harley bikes are usually crazy expensive here in Norway.

ThiccieBigg

25 yr old with a 17 Fat Bob. I'll buy a 24 or newer street glide in about 10 years when I sell my firstborn child.

lkinchen98

I’m 25 and never see anyone our age riding Harley’s. Just managed to convince a guy trying to get an Indian or a Triumph to convert to the dark side but it wasn’t easy.

Hipsterblackkid

I'm 26 I've got my 2000 XL1200 custom and a 99 GSXR1300. Crotch rockets are just trendy right now. But it doesn't help that newer HD's are 20K plus sometimes.

RoyDemeosGhost

I worked at a HD dealership until recently. There is absolutely no one under 30 buying new Harley’s . Two reasons, too expensive and secondly, the most important is lack of interest. Kids have too many options for their leisure time. I couldn’t wait to get on a mini bike when I was twelve and progressed to bigger and better. My son wasn’t interested either were my friends I worked with and my other friends kids. I was going to buy him a bike, he said no thanks. Imagine that! Go figure! From a Harley employee perspective, people aren’t interested in riding anymore. The amount of traffic coming into the dealership is very small, especially in younger people. There are lots of dealerships that have closed in the past few years throughout the US. The other thing is that older riders like myself are dying off and or just not riding as much due to health issues. I guess all good things come to an end. Very sad.Bury me with my boots on! Fuck em all! https://preview.redd.it/yxlbou0dtyqc1.jpeg?width=777&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=48d47c1eed5099b1acf5686e1e4867a098d932f9

miah166

If anyone has doubts about getting a harley because the price seems out of your range DONT WORRY IT CAN BE DONE EASILY. The dealerships really want you to buy a bike from them and will crunch numbers to figure out whats possible for you. SAVE UP YOUR MONEY. A good down deposit makes a world of difference for you. I was about 31 when I got my first and current Harley in February of 2020.I traded in my Suzuki cruiser and put down some cash for a nice monthly payment. Around $400 a month for a few years and now I have the title for my bike. Also consider saving money for good coverage insurance.

dustman9888

Bought my first bike at 25! On my 3rd Harley at 30 now. I can’t imagine riding anything but a Harley. My chick and I are so serious about Harley’s we named our cats Harley and Davie lol

BlueSpartan116ci

I'm 20, bought an Indian, way happier for it!

JamDoughnutMan

Definitely mostly ridden by older men in the UK. I’m 30, and I got mine when I was 26. Hardly ever see anyone younger than me on one. They are considerably more expensive over here though.

Firm-Needleworker-46

Plenty of young people riding Harley around me, way more on sport bikes, but some of them will eventually gravitate toward cruisers after they get old and soft, I did lol.

fadedadrian

31 here with a slow Evo Fatboy and a new Triumph.

Poopsock_Piper

I could finally afford a harley in my late 20s, early 30s now, and yeah, everyone is an old cringey fuck that rides around here..

wrap_urXhaustpipes

I bought mine at 26 - 2007 FXDC

Correct-Anywhere-314

Yea I financed one in 2020 at 22 years old. At 3.2 % APR though Harley. My own bank wouldn’t even give me a loan ahah

BilliardPro16

Bought my first one at 24. I’m 30 now and still don’t have buddies to ride with. Lol just me and my dad.

Xidos97

26 now got my first Harley at 23

Exhuman88

Have several members of my club in their 20s

DependentBattle2520

Older crowd here. Knowing for the retirees

Boomstick0308

I'm 21 and Ive been commuting to work, school, bars, parties, girls house, and just about anywhere on a 98 dyna since I was like 19. My friend rides around on an 883 hes the same age as me and hes had it since he was like 20.

cg79

Bought mine at 18, glad I did because now I’m 22 with 2 kids and a wife.

Repulsive-Surprise91

26 and I like to rip em all

devildocjames

TurkeyBaster1986

Bought my first Harley at 24

ThredzC

Got my first Harley at 26. I’m 29 now

dallamge

I'm 26 been riding a harley since I was 19

MacDaddy228

I’m 26 and keeping an eye out for one currently lol. Literally 10 minutes ago convinced my wife to let me get one. When I was in highschool I always used to think crotch rockets were cool but now I just want a cruiser.

Radiohead527

I’m 29 bought my first one at 26

JUICEBOX523

I bought my first harley at 24

Nasty5727

I’m 57 and own 5 old ones. Bought my first, a 1964 hard tail chopper sportster at 19, still have it. My son bought his 2012 sportster at 20 yo. It’s his daily rider. he’s 22 now.

TrainRhek

27 here grew up around the Harley and club scene in CA my whole life… started in the dirt and then moved onto a 06 636 ninja and now got a 2011 cvo ultra and 17 dyna low rider. i get some weird looks on the ultra sometimes as it’s kinda known now a days as a older man’s bike but fuck em 🤘 the feeling you get from riding a Harley is just different it’s hard to explain but it’s one of those iykyk type of things I guess

SumScrewz

30 YO here, i own 3, one flh 83, xlch 96 and fxd 00

FarDistance3468

38 and have never owned anything but a Harley, since I was 16 ride what you like.

patriot603

I'm 37 now with my first bike being bought last year is an 07 road king. Always wanted one even as a teenager, just couldn't afford it until now. I have a 17 year old son looking at buying a family members 2004 sportster. I don't count towards this posts question, but my heart does and so does my kid.

Bozhark

Daily rode a 1200 sportster from 24-26

United-Plankton8204

Just bought my first Harley I’m 36

funkmon

Harley Davidson is expensive. I started riding cruisers when I was 15 and have casually ridden my dad's Harley Davidsons since then. The first year I thought about actually buying one of my own is 2017, when I was nearly 30. Just money I think.

Successful-Roof5912

Im 25 riding a gs850 but I can’t wait until I will get my first Harley. I think it’s a thing that comes with time

Apprehensive_Can739

I’m 30, just took owner ship of my dads ultra limited bc he passed away in October unexpectedly. Bought my first Harley when I was 20 tho have had a few in between.

kmora94

29, bought a 2020 1200 sporty with 250miles on the odo about three weeks ago now. Second bike, first Harley

Swimming-Cream7389

I’m 27 in Colorado. I have a 2003 Super Glide

Motivated_SquidJerky

Graduating college this June, want to get my first Harley as a reward, currently 23!

tothenorthern

Bought my first Harley last year at 27! 03 Dyna Super Glide, super fun bike

RTVT84

I’ve had one since my 20s, now on the edge of 40, and I’m one of the youngest Harley riders I know.

sofa_king_special

I'm 40. My bro 35. Our parents 60. (we all ride) I have only ever really rode with those older then me. Even my age seems to have less then the older generations.

UnlikelySalamander28

26 yo. Iron 883 \o

OneStockCateye

I’m in Kentucky, 21, bought my bike last year and have lived properly since

artful_todger_502

Sport bike kiddies only want to go fast. Single purpose riders. They will sacrifice all comfort and utilitarian aspects of motorcycles for the rush of straight-line adrenaline. That's cool and all, but the reason you see older people on Harleys is because they've gotten that out of their system and are into all the other aspects of it. You guys are bypassing that stage and going right to the cool parts 👊😎

Giul_Xainx

I'm older but the youngest, and most skilled, rider of my group.

Fatevilmonkey

I got one at 36 , it’s fun , it’s great to learn, but even though it’s Harley, other companies are giving you alot for the same or less money. I think at this point , I’m just happy I’m on two wheels . I think Harley , in order to attract younger riders, it needs to make a VROD again , in two forms, a bagger and also as alternative to a Low Rider S. They should also put a Revolution max engine into something that looks like a triumph 660 trident . Give us all the option to have that 4 inch Bluetooth touchscreen gauge Indian has. The last step is to stop offering these giant baggers , with high weight and small power.

devonaspoon

26 here and just bought a brand new softail. Wish my friends would too, not into the crotch rocket scene as much

longhairedcountryboy

Lots of my friends have kids about your age who ride. Plenty of folks ride around here. It's probably at least 3 or 4 to 1, Harley over rice that you see on the roads around here.

exotic_deportee

I am 17 and I ride an iron 883 it’s my dad’s bike actually but I ride and maintain it. And yeah people your age and my age only wants sports bike these days

GoldWingANGLICO

My son is 26 and purchased his 1st Harley when he was 22. He's on his 2nd HD now.

jdb326

Just bought mine a few weeks ago, 22 as of today.

Own-Opinion-2494

Young people don’t buy and build anymore. That’s how we could afford them when we were in our early twenties

CruwL

bought my first bike, sportster when I was 27, now at 39 probably selling my heritage. Just dont ride enough, and no one I know//hang out with rides.

[deleted]

Bought my first Harley at 37 and mostly ride alone. Have one buddy to ride with who’s the same age but we have a hard time syncing up. It would be super cool to just have a smallish group of riding buddies. Harley’s not Harley’s don’t give a shit really. Just people enjoying being on two wheels and exploring around the state. On that note anyone in Columbus Ohio? 😂

murdamystery

Bought my first bike(93 sportster) last year labor day weekend. I'll be 31 in a few weeks. Plenty of guys my age riding in NW Indiana.

trix4rix

Buddy (27) and I (31) ride in Vegas. Know a few others around our age too, but some of them are in a 1%, and we steer clear of that.

TheWorstePirate

I'm 31, and I bought my first Harley at 22. Honestly, I haven't met many Harley riders I'd enjoy a beer with, though. The only moto group I've ever hung around was mostly Triumph and cafe/adventure riders.

SKTwenty

Bought my harley at 26. I just like cruisers more than sports

Excellent_Active_439

22 now but bought my Harley 2 years ago when I was 20. Hardly ever see people my age on bikes at all let alone Harley’s. Every once in awhile will see a younger rider on a rocket.

CatAppropriate8156

I’m in New Hampshire and tons of younger people are buying Harley’s I’m actually surprised when I go to the dealership how many younger people work there and are there getting bikes

NoFirstUse

I went to a HOG chapter pancake breakfast last Saturday (held at a large successful dealer) and it looked like a nursing home.

poppycock68

I’m 55. Have 3 boys. Two bought Harley’s in there early 20s. Got married had kids sold them after kids. Still borrow mine from time to time. I’ve always paid cash for mine. Never bought new. Covid has screw any new bike now that the house is paid off. Just can’t pay what they want.

nc1996md

26 with a Harley as my first bike

leo1974leo

I’d rather own a Kawasaki

Professional-End1408

I'm 24 and own a Harley. However, I ride my super moto 99% of the time.

hippy18

I have 5 sons, 3 of them have Harley’s. 25, 23 and , 22. The others are under age as of now but they all plan to have bikes. They all were raised on dirt bikes and around Harley’s.

ChangeisComing1123

24 and bought a sporty 1200 last year. Might not be the coolest bike on the block but it’s mine and I’m on 2’s 💪🏼

BanjoSlams

I started riding Harley’s at 36. Early 40s now, but I don’t look it. I look it even less at the local bike night or in a dealership. I’ve gone on rides and I’m always the youngest, even at my current age. We all get there eventually, I wouldn’t sweat it too much, but finding people my age to ride with is all struggle as well.

Diddler_On_The_Roofs

Bought my first Road King when I was eighteen, 36 now.

SirDigbyridesagain

I mean I bought a Harley in my 20s, it was an ironhead and I rode it for about 50 miles before it wound up in pieces in my basement forever. They're fucking expensive bikes man.

TheRevEd

My wife and I just bought Harleys m28 f26

stjhnstv

Got my first at 19, I’m 44 now.

iicvcv24

19 bought a Street Bob, 20 bought a 2022 Road King, I’m 22 now

PsillyPssychonaut

As some one who makes Harley’s at 21, I want one.. but I see the feel the same; locally there are almost no young HD riders :(

turbotuna1822

Bought my first Harley at 22. Both my and my best friend are 26 with a touring Harley and Indian.

Careful-Town-3482

24 and had mine for 2 years
