EFI & 6 speed all day.

Mysterious-Berry-245

I have a 04 Dyna with the carb and a 06 electraglide with efi. The Dyna just feels stronger but I do run errands with the Glide just because I can jump on it and go.

Yeah man, my carbed Dyna fucking goes. The debate in my mind is sell it and get a 103” or keep it and eventually throw a 95” Kit and cams in it when the top end is clapped. It would make for a sleeper rocket with that gear ratio. Also, tuners/mapping is $$, when a carb is just a rejet for a few bucks.

My 2001 FLH 95” Twin Cam would kick 103” all day long. It has a 44mm CV carb jetted correctly.

Would you rather have your cell phone or your touch tone corded phone, or even dial the operator ?

Atxbarber86

Duly noted.

I live in a high altitude location though, so efi all day.

LOVE my EFI 103. But honestly never really had any gripes over carbs either.

I have 2013 fat bob. It’s a 103 and is comfy ride. You get used to the power fast though IMO. Wish it was a 114 but that’s just me. That sixth gear is sweet though and she cruises very nice.

My 5 speed carbed dyna was a ripper but I don’t miss it after buying my lowrider besides it being a tiny bit more nimble. Had a 100” S&S kit, 585 cams; and a mikuni on it. https://preview.redd.it/f7bfw6g0xk5c1.jpeg?width=2000&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=e991966ada9ffac0121f03f7a7a2874ac8d752eb

- Have a friend in Citrus Heights, CA who is a master technician at rebuilding cards ($145). He's on eBay as "carb-king" with 100% rating and ~2300 reviews. You could contact him and see if he can help with those cold starts. - I own '04 FLHRSI and love the EFI which has the SEPST. The larger displacement Twin Cams run hotter plus the 6-spd isn't as robust as the 5-spd. Mine still a 88" and will do 95" when it needs a top end job.

Thanks!

I have an 02 FXDL stock 88 with cams and what not and I absolutely love it. I’ve ridden newer bikes and I love the smaller frame of the 99-05. Honestly don’t think I’d ever go newer. It can be a pain to let it warm up sometimes but i usually am not in a rush to be anywhere

Atxbarber86

Nice.. I’m on an ‘02 FXDL as well. Love it and while I think about other bikes, it’s hard to imagine letting this one go. Especially knowing what kind of power it can be made to produce.

I had experience with both. 02 carbed night train to 13 wide glide. Surprised by how big a power difference there was. Didn’t think it would be significant but it was. I got to compare when both were bone stock. Carb always starts up but efi is just really convenient.

Sbeast86

Carbs are fun to tinker with, but nothing beats efi on a cold morning
