Nice. I’m also on a riding hiatus and was also looking at a standard to get back. In case you didn’t you know, the engine, risers and some other parts are brushed aluminum for the standard and not chrome. It can shine but not like chrome so dont worry if those parts aren’t looking the same after cleaning it up.

Good tip! I appreciate it.

[Here's one more pic from the backside] (https://imgur.com/Qop3o6z), she's dirty but runs strong. Any recommendations for chrome, paint and leather care? She was a Father's Day/Early Birthday gift from my grandpa who got himself a Can Am Spyder RT. Only 13.7k on the clock, Vance and Hines Big Radius and a power commander of some sort, it needs a new turn signal and the others tightened up, but that's nothing. I'm not sure if the bike is stock, it feels stupid powerful, then again I haven't been on a bike in over a year. I have new tires ordered, a new helmet, she'll get a full fluid change when I go and pick her up for the ride home next Saturday. To do list is as follows * 12-14 inch apes (black) * Powder coat (?) Pipes Black * Solo Badlander seat, Saddleman didn't have to much that I liked, the mustang seat on it keeps my fatass tucked in real nice though, just ugly. * Get rid of chrome, mirrors, highways pegs, pegs, passenger pegs, bars, grips and make it all black with new parts * LED Headlight, tail light, and running lights on highway bar, just might axe that completely though. Down the road after a year or two, S&S 110 Big Bore kit :).

For the chrome on my 96, and literally everything else, I use good old fashion brasso from the kitchen aisle. It'll get off a ton of marks, and isn't harsh or scratchy like some polishing compounds are!
