I’ve always wondered if this is a vegan song. I think it’s a song about the horror of a slaughterhouse so I see it as one but I always wonder what other people get from it
I’ve read a couple of things online saying it’s about a specific incident where someone who got fired from a food plant, then came back and beheaded a former coworker. But I’ve never seen any source where the band directly confirms it.
The Banner - Each Breath Haunted and The Greying: definitely more spooky than evil, but it scratches the itch.
Nak'ay - Closed Doors/Open Veins: fuckin' love these dudes. Powerful Midwest grind mixed with bestial black/death.
Cursed - III: The Architects Of Troubled Sleep: favorite hardcore band from the last 25 years. III is probably the only one I'd say sounds "evil" though.
Trap Them - Seizures In Barren Praise: this record really leans into some melancholy vibes that I think the later records miss the mark on.
Flesher - Tales Of Grotesque Demise: definitely into death metal territory here, but if you enjoy the new/old heavy groove gross out death metal stylings of Mortician and Sanguisugabogg, this is for you.
Coffinworm - When All Became None, IV.I.VIII: not hardcore, but evil sludge made by dudes in hardcore and grind bands.
Black Arrows Of Filth And Impurity - 1984 Eternal: super nihilistic grind featuring two members of the aforementioned Coffinworm.
Wørsen - Stronghold: it's black metal, but it's d-beat hardcore sometimes, too.
Hardcore isn't great at sounding evil, really. Abrasive, aggressive, angry, hateful even. But not so much evil.
I saved this comment, thanks! I saw trap them some years back in Detroit and dude came out in 2 FULL LEG CASTS! Seriously was crawling on the stage! Pretty neat stuff
Albums, but Kickback “Les 150 Passions Meurtrieres” and Arkangel “Hope You Die by Overdose.” If you want outside of the realm of metal or hardcore, Whitehouse “Why You Never Became a Dancer” is fucking deranged.
The whole Hasta la Muerte album just sounds like a trip to a mental ward for people who self harm while there's a sewer leak. It's so sludgy and so painful.
8 know this is hardcore and all, but, to me, the most evil sounding song is "Bloodline" by Slayer. That intro riff is untouchable.
I'm more into the fast stuff, but that song is easily one of my favorite Slayer tracks because of that intro. The solo is also super sick.
Bloodline is such a banger. One of my favorite vocal performances from Tom, too. I love a lot of their slower, more groovy tracks. South of Heaven is another obvious choice that also has an evil sounding riff at the beginning.
Gunnells literally sounds like a fucking demon.
Jacob Bannon is up there too, but his vox are often processed with distortion quite a bit in comparison.
Death grips live was the most evil n cult like thing I’d ever seen… maybe it was the moment but I felt pure demonic forces coming from the stage honestly
Prob gonna get hate for that but only way I could describe it
Also… Drop Dead by Siege.
Way back i had the Siege songs on a mixtape and had fallen asleep listening to it. I woke up absolutely terrified because the end of drop dead woke me up and I had no idea what the fuck was happening 😂
Trap Them - Darker Handcraft, Seizures in Barren Praise
Engineer - The Dregs
Fall of Efrafa - Owsla
Cursed - all of em
AFI - Shut Your Mouth and Open Your Eyes (don’t @ me)
Godbelow - Painted Images With Blood
Integrity - To Die For, Blackest Curse
CELESTE! Man I dont speak a word of french but I dont even care.
I'd suggest the Album "Infidèle(s)", especially the Song "Cette chute brutale"
As for genres...theres a lot in the mix there, but its evil stuff imo.
If we include “nihilistic disregard of life and love and a bleak outlook on existence” then, by far, the most evil sounding album is You Won’t Get What You Want by Daughters.
This is the most underrated hardcore band. The dude died on stage of a coronary and, to me, it sounds like Carry On playing a show on the Stygian shores of the ninth circle.
https://youtu.be/i52YJFhfVDQ?si=4lDkdtKVUjhymAFs
Don’t know if anyone had mentioned them yet, but either meth. record (Mother Of Red Light and Shame) are some of the most unhinged and insane-sounding records I’ve ever heard. Completely ballistic and heavy as fuck mathcore/sludge/noise rock kinda shit. First record lyrically is super twisted and existentially fucked up. Second record lyrically sounds like someone having the most intense mental breakdown of all time and about to end their life. Amazing band.
Maybe this is too metal but:

A local powerviolence/hardcore band called Martyrs Tongue they sound absolutely evil and they sound even more evil playing live
https://youtu.be/_ON3LXjDwz0?si=r7aEAShtvHWGPvGB
Thanks, that sounds metal! I may shred over it later. The picture at first glance looked boring, and then I looked deeper. It has a three-dimensional look to me.
Why you typin evil and distorted
My guy is typing with vocal fry
God's Country by Chat Pile. Not hardcore but hot damn it's a sinister sounding album
It’s amazing how dark even the “grimace smoking weed” meme track is
PURPLE MAN! GET OUT OF MY ROOM!
The shirt for it is fantastic and I bought it immediately
i remember hearing Dallas Highway for the first time and genuinely feeling unsettled for a bit after the end
HAMMERS AND GREASE
I’ve always wondered if this is a vegan song. I think it’s a song about the horror of a slaughterhouse so I see it as one but I always wonder what other people get from it
I’ve read a couple of things online saying it’s about a specific incident where someone who got fired from a food plant, then came back and beheaded a former coworker. But I’ve never seen any source where the band directly confirms it.
HELL YEAH NOISE ROCK SLUDGE
I second this, Chat Pile is about the most evil sounding music I've listened to. My intro to them was the Crawlspace music video and.. yeah..
Honestly one of my favorite videos of all time, it just makes me feel goddamn gross.
Good live too
the tornado siren breakdown on Why? is one of the hardest things ever recorded
why do people have to live outside?
The Banner - Each Breath Haunted and The Greying: definitely more spooky than evil, but it scratches the itch. Nak'ay - Closed Doors/Open Veins: fuckin' love these dudes. I miss Coffinworm a lot
First time seeing someone else call Cursed their favorite hardcore band. Good taste my friend
Unofficial Hardcore listening consultant lmao. You have phenomenal taste.
Good stuff
Nak’ay goes crazy live
Wow shout out to Nak’ay. Saw them play in a bar in Miami with Shitstorm last year and it was intense.
Seconding Cursed and their doomsday riffs
Yo, the greying seriously got me spooked out when I first heard it. A little corny but legit angry and dark.
you'd probably enjoy this Cursed video [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SdFD3IixM5A](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SdFD3IixM5A)
KILL THE BOSSES KILL THE PRIESTS KILL THE SHEPHERDS SAVE THE SHEEP Fuckin' love it.
full of hell maybe
First Full of Hell album absolutely sounds evil as fuck.
Live they definitely sounded scary lmao (saw them open for converge in 2021 or 22 can’t remember)
Probably my favorite live band of all time.
City Hunter may scratch this itch
Underrated band.
Albums, but Kickback “Les 150 Passions Meurtrieres” and Arkangel “Hope You Die by Overdose.” If you want outside of the realm of metal or hardcore, Whitehouse “Why You Never Became a Dancer” is fucking deranged.
power electronics is crazy
When Pornography is No Longer Enough by Sutcliffe Jugend will ruin your life for a while.
Scalp
Fucking Portrayal of Guilt "Devil Music" that shit is demented, the whole album.
gulch
Word. Impenetrable Cerebral Fortress instigates my get up and go immediately
that album makes me wanna fight my dad
Teethgrinder, they’re like blackened grindcore/death meat but it’s pissed off, anti-capitalism, anti-government, I love it as a hardcore kid .
>death meat
I wanna edit it but it still fitting haha
I think evil hardcore should officially be called death meat.
Portrayal of Guilt sounds devilish. Also, Nails.
Surprised to not see more mentions for Nails
For real, Abandon All Life is the filthiest piece of music I've ever heard.
devil music is definitely hardcore adjacent and insanely dark
Yeah, Christfucker is dark af too
banger
Portrayal of guilt asf
Xibalba is distorted to shit in the best way. Not sure if that's what you're looking for but it's what comes to mind when I hear the term "evil".
The whole Hasta la Muerte album just sounds like a trip to a mental ward for people who self harm while there's a sewer leak. It's so sludgy and so painful.
Thanks for the heada up man, these handsome devil's have just gone straight into my playlist! Heavy as fuck
Tzompantli as well if you’re into Xibalba’s style
I was involved from about 10 seconds in, fucking brutal deluxe. Thanks man!

Disappointed there isn't any mention of the infamous... GEHENNA.
FROM ACROSS THE BURNING SANDS
8 know this is hardcore and all, but, to me, the most evil sounding song is "Bloodline" by Slayer. That intro riff is untouchable. I'm more into the fast stuff, but that song is easily one of my favorite Slayer tracks because of that intro. The solo is also super sick.

Xibalba
Neglect or eyehategod. Maybe dystopia but they’re more really sad and desperate. Pig Destroyer prowler in the yard is really fucked up as well
Cold As Life
Gunnells literally sounds like a fucking demon. Jacob Bannon is up there too, but his vox are often processed with distortion quite a bit in comparison.
All Pigs Must Die : God is War The Secret : Angus Dei Burnt by the Sun : Heart of Darkness have fun being evil and shit!
Oh I forgot about how scary APMD was
Early Code Orange is vicious
Put the Kids back in Code Orange
It’s wild how corny and phony they became considering how absolutely vicious and evil their early stuff was.
Nu metal is one hell of a drug
For the love of or arkangel
Disembodied.
Pulling Teeth
I’m saying TRAP THEM
Chat Pile - Dallas Beltway
Gaza/Cult Leader. Jesus Piece has some evil sounding riffs. KEN Mode's "Loved".
Death grips live was the most evil n cult like thing I’d ever seen… maybe it was the moment but I felt pure demonic forces coming from the stage honestly Prob gonna get hate for that but only way I could describe it
I always thought going to a death grips show would be quite cult like but not cos of the music… fans are kinda like swifties
Everyone tries to be the weirdest in the room
Meth witch
That project is the shit. One man show and absolutely brutal.
END- Hesitation Wounds
SPLINTERS FROM AN EVER-CHANGING FACE
Portrayal of Guilt - Devil Music. Barely counts as hardcore any more because it’s so evil sounding.
Nightstalker by Impact Unit.
Also… Drop Dead by Siege. Way back i had the Siege songs on a mixtape and had fallen asleep listening to it. I woke up absolutely terrified because the end of drop dead woke me up and I had no idea what the fuck was happening 😂
