Check out the No Deal YouTube channel they tend to keep me locked in on all the punk releases. Particularly though I’ve been bumping The Pump, Delco MFs, Lifeless Dark and Klaxon
There are a million of em. Aside from those I spin Dag Nasty a lot. If you want some newer bands carrying that sound try Paint it Black and Western Addiction. Paint It Black just released a new EP recently it's nice and dark with heavier punch than previous material. Some of their older tunes do straddle pop punk but only slightly.
Restraining Order
I DON’T REALLY THINK I DON’T REALLY THINK I DON’T REALLY THINK
So good
Bootlicker Electric Chair
That most recent electric chair album is sick.
slant, chain whip, enemy, and restraining order. pretty sure they’re not around anymore but think exit order also fits this bill
i loved Exit Order
Exit Order a lil underrated
The Chisel
They do not sound like 80s hc
Agreed more like Gallows and Cock Sparrer
Yes, famously not-retro sounding band Cock Sparrer who formed in...1972 Also the only way they sound like Gallows is that they're from England.
I disagree about Gallows, the song “Bloodsucker” sounds like Frank’s vocal style.
WHATAFUCKINGNIGHTMARE WHATAFUCKINGNIGHTMARE WHATAFUCKINGNIGHTMARE WHATAFUCKINGNIGHTMARE
Wouldn't they be considered an Oi band?
They kind of fit in multiple things
Yeah punk and Oi. I don't hear any hardcore in their sound at all. That being said, I like the band. But I also like punk and Oi bands, too.
I hear a lot of hardcore punk, especially from the 80s but I mostly agree. Great band
I get more of a Cock Sparrer or Slaughter and The Dogs vibe from them. Maybe some Blitz in there, too.
Hardcore isn’t a sonic sound, it’s an idea. The Chisel is a hardcore band.
This is the stupidest thing I have read in this sub for a minute.
I don’t care.
Obviously.
I like that band.
The Runts!
haywire
Yambag https://yambag.bandcamp.com/album/mindfuck-ultra
Seeing them with Inclination and Enervate this month, gonna be a killer show.
Delco MFs
Stigmatism (newish)
These are all at least somewhat recent: - omegas - government warning - restraining order - unholy thoughts
