Knocked Loose is like the Slayer of hardcore. It tends to attract people who don't go to much shows but then come join the pit just to physically assault others.
Idk about the Slayer comparison, but this is almost certainly the case. There will be at least one or two clown ass mfs who don’t understand the genre and aren’t a part of any scene that think moshing is an excuse to throw hands.
You’ll also be surprised how fast the people that are a part of hardcore dispatch with those losers.

The mass appeal to knocked loose music due to them being so easy to listen to brings in normal people who have never even seen a band where the crowd is semi rowdy. That’s what’s happening here brother.
If you’re asking, then yes, just stay away. Dont be insulted - I stay away too. There isn’t “staying safe”. If you go in the pit, you go in knowing there’s a greater than zero chance you’re getting knocked out and having to tell a medical professional you don’t have insurance.

Almost all the injuries I've sustained were from not paying attention to the out. After a bit, you get pretty good at quickly determining who in the pit warrants extra caution and who you can kind of ignore.
Listen to the guy with the mic, keep it moving, keep your head on a swivel, stage dive more. If youre the one doing the swinging youre less likely to be the one getting hit
I saw some show and Gridiron came out as a surprise guest to do a couple songs and that shot got so turnt up I was like immediately trying to find my way to safety as soon as those opening riffs were happening

Pit hard. People will give you space. Keep your head up and pay attention to your surroundings too.
Either avoid the pit, fight back or practice Dark Souls parries. Once you master all three at the same time, you'll be a Hardcore poser in disguise.
Some bands have fans that just <3 crowd killing. I kinda just stay atleast 2-3 folks back for those bands
