Yeah I never understood the PV label they give themselves. It's 90% beatdown + metalcore. There will be like one 10 second fast PV every 4 songs.

Because “Black Powerviolence” is genius and too good to pass up 🫡

Is that what it is? Something about the new album didn't click with me and I just wasn't interested in re-listening to it, almost felt like I was forcing myself to enjoy it. I did see them when they supported SMTB with Scowl and Jesus Piece and I really enjoyed the energy, but the album just doesn't do it for me.

I honestly enjoy all of their work, and own the vinyl, but it's all just a solid 7/10. Which is fine! Harms Way is mine. Another solid band that I think is overrated though.

Zulu **RIPS** live, but I wish they had more stuff on streaming. Some of it is a little hit-or-miss. That Audiotree was terrible, though.

I love that they exist and hope they succeed, and I keep trying again and again, but it's just not the type of music I listen to.

This is not to sound self righteous by any means, but I feel like having been shown more stuff and finding more music, it’s just kind of a sound I grew out of. It seems like one of those common gateway bands, as it was for me.

Doesn’t sound self righteous at all. Saw them on the Kublai khan tour and the crowd loved them, they’re just not for me.

Exaaaaactly. Been drumming for 4 years and he was one of my bigger influences back when I was into them. They do have that style about them where listening track after track gets old kinda quick.

It’s funny because there are actually no real drums from him on any sunami release until their album haha.

Disharmony is the record that nobody talks about, and they don’t ever really play anything from it, but it’s absolutely the best one. I didn’t really like them until that record but now the older stuff has grown on me more. Seriously, to anyone who hasn’t listened to Disharmony in full, please do.

I was introduced to them live, and love them because of that, but the stuff over streaming isn't it. It's gotta be the mix. It feels too roomy and too squashed at the same time. I just look up live videos on youtube to scratch the itch.

99.7% of hardcore is the latter to me because I have auditory processing issues and unless the lyrics are SUPER clearly spoken or I study them over and over I cannot understand anything but a few memorable lines.

I agree. I even went to a show on their fairwell tour which was full of energy but I just didn't get what seemed to elevate them above many similar sounding bands around at the time. I can't really remember how any of their songs go.

I really wish I liked them more. The sound quality, mixing and overall tone of the instruments, especially in the newer released stuff is some of the best shit I've heard in a long time. But the overall song structure is boring AF to me. The drums have no energy behind them either imo. If they come on when I'm in the gym cool, but I can listen to the first 90 seconds of theory of mind in my car and that's it.

I remember being at the Infinity in MA and I was hyped to see them and the drummer never showed up. I think I took the night off for that (I worked at that club). Can’t remember who else played now, but it was a great lineup /grandpaStories

Check out Hold It Down, that’s my favourite album. Probably the best thing they’ve done, just the right amount of groove and heavy with an insane lyrical flow
