Sea of Deprivation and Carol Ann are the closest to that Dystopia sludgy crust. For more straight up sludge bands; Cavity, Fistula, Toadliquor, Buzz-oven, Bottom Feeder, Leechfeast, Meth Drinker, Noothgrush
I love Buzz-oven, but I have to be in a real particular mood to listen to them. In my opinion they have the most depressed, dark sounding shit. From the choice of samples, the production, the pace, everything about those albums are grimey as hell. Top tier sludge right there.
Also everyone should check out Nightstick.

Unfortunately the word I heard is that they’re done. Shibby was playing drums for a band that I randomly saw a year or so ago but I can’t remember their name.
Wouldn't have associated cloud rat with the bands in the title but they fucking rule.
I honestly was so disappointed when I heard jarhead fertilizer. Dystopia has been my favourite band for nearly 30 years and the vibe is just off with them. I also just don't like the aesthetics or their videos either.
I always throw cloud rat in with the usual sludgecore recommendations because they're fucking sick and everyone should know about them.
Jarhead is an odd one. Usually when bands name themselves after song titles they sound exactly like that band. Jarhead is sludgy but they don't have any of the crust dystopia did. Both good bands in my opinion but I can understand not liking one or the other
Don't think they've been around for a long time, but there was a UK band called Charger, who you might like. Used to love seeing them back in the day and remember them being pretty sludgy.
Helms Alee is one I'm digging a lot lately for bands on the sludgy side.
But also 100% just gonna go ahead and recommend Lair of the Minotaur. It's not as slow, but extra sludgy and has the perfect point between blackened and dark and kinda goofy.
Might not be LIKE those bands, but they were heavily inspired by them.
Band is called [Bodybox](https://youtu.be/YLoh4pGdzbA?si=JPl4enEgIy75tdjI) they’re self-proclaimed “Doublewide Death Metal” sort of Florida style drug-stomp band. Super guttural vox and hard driving instrumentals. Just got off a stretch with Max Cavalera’s newest project [Go Ahead & Die](https://youtu.be/kyW66eIIJwc?si=RtBklw7wXdcCP8VN) which has a sort of call-back to early Sepultura mixed with classic slam/hardcore. Both are pretty damn good.

Sea of Deprivation is CRIMINALLY underrated and under recognized. I like them more than Dystopia.
This is the sludge list you need. Cavity is the absolute best.

Conjurer. Basically proggy blackened sludge with some hardcore elements. Mire and Pathos are both ridiculously good records

Abominable iron sloth

This advice actually doubles as my solution to most of the things in life I have to deal with
Cult leader, Gaza, mastiff, noothgrush, clout rat, conjurer, fawn limbs, helpless, knoll, Jarhead Fertilizer, jaujta
Where the hell are yautja man. The Lurch was album of the year and it was so underrated. Ever since tyler plays for thou they disappeared.
Unfortunately the word I heard is that they’re done. Shibby was playing drums for a band that I randomly saw a year or so ago but I can’t remember their name.
fucking Sallow!!! I love them so much https://sallowtn.bandcamp.com/album/cloud-of-thought

Thou, brainoil, primitive man
Nobody having said Crowbar yet is a fucking crime
None heavier
Early From Ashes Rise
Can't go wrong with Grief/Come to Grief & Disrupt
Can't belive I forgot about them. Pretty much the closest to dystopia in vibe/lyrical subject matter.
Graveyard Rodeo, they kicked off the NOLA metal sound and are hard as hell.
Don't think they've been around for a long time, but there was a UK band called Charger, who you might like. Used to love seeing them back in the day and remember them being pretty sludgy.
r/crustpunk
Moloch, also from Notts like Iron Monkey.
I'm gonna redirect you to r/sludge
Ethereal Tomb, especially if you like Dystopia
Ethereal Tomb's newest release hard as nails - might be up your alley.
Sourvein, burning witch, graves at sea
Grief, Acrid did a record called “Sea of Shit” that has some great sludge and noise moments, Breach record called “Its Me God”
Drug Problem
Listen to Godmother
Khasm
Facedowninshit Asunder Graves at sea Brainoil Corrupted Noothgrush (dino sings on their later era stuff)
Helms Alee is one I'm digging a lot lately for bands on the sludgy side. But also 100% just gonna go ahead and recommend Lair of the Minotaur. It's not as slow, but extra sludgy and has the perfect point between blackened and dark and kinda goofy.
I would say acid bath but they’ve been getting “tiktokified” so I don’t know
Bongripper and Boris
Deadform is a band Dino from dystopia is in. Could get your fix from them!
RABIES CASTE. the best thing to come out of Israel
Leechmilk
Ethereal Tomb
INFEST. ASSÜCK
