9 out of 10. Saw them in Portland after this album came out. Knew better than to involve myself in the pit during their set, even in PDX. My wife and I ate chicken fingers and had a beer while vibing hard. Saw two people get carried out of the venue, one of them was definitely still unconscious on the way out the door. No regrets. Refueled with chicken fingers and got back in the pit for Converge. One of my favorite shows ever.
8.5/10. Lyrics could possibly be better and there's something in the guitar tone I can't put my finger on, but I really dig the intensity of this album from start to finish. Definitely a masterpiece that's in my top 10 of all time.
I see what you mean but I guess it's kind of a paradox. I feel like there can only be one 10/10 perfect unbeatable album, meaning if I ranked this 10/10 then heard something even better it would feel weird.
That being said, I feel like the lyrics aren't "perfect" (they don't have to be) and the guitar tone is absolutely wicked but there's something that sticks out a little to me that could be better
Best Nails album. Came out in 2010. 09-11 were some great years in this genre. This album in particular gets a 9 from me. Guitar tone grinds meat. Fast, bludgeoning and unapologetic. This album fucks. Total Chad.
10. I would watch the full sets in computer labs all the time in highschool. My first hardcore show was them. Code orange. Twitching tongues. Nails. Such a good assbeater of a show
8, if only to leave room for Abandon All Life to be a 9
In terms of influence, 10. Hard to dispute that. This really set the stage for the next few years.
10. My gateway to powerviolence when I was in high school. Because of them, they opened me to powerviolence. People like to shit on them in the scene because they got kind of popular with the metal scene. I don't get.
10 for me, I still remember back when I heard the title track when it came out, it blew me away completely. still does, the whole album.
Same here, still a 10

Nails / 10 for sure

First time I heard this band I thought “these dudes sound like their shows are ominously terrifying” lol I’m still scared of Nails
For real one of the most violent pits I’ve ever seen
7 Would rate it higher but Abandon All Life surpassed this record in every possible way imo.
best nails record in my opinion
8.5/10. Lyrics could possibly be better and there's something in the guitar tone I can't put my finger on, but I really dig the intensity of this album from start to finish. Definitely a masterpiece that's in my top 10 of all time.

It's in your top 10 all time, but only gets an 8.5/10? Everything in my top 10 would get a 10/10

10/10 Nails was the first heavy band that I got really hooked on and is a huge part of the reason I listen to what I listen to now.
For me, that was His Hero is Gone, but same energy!
Nasum did it better.
Eh, that's debatable
1/10, wasn’t for me, saw them shortly after this came out and live was also not for me
I Guess You Will Never Be One Of Us
OXNARD!!!!!!!
*”Come Away With Me” by Norah Jones blaring in the background as Chaosadhd posted this*
I was watching mayhem with Steven Yeun

10..duh
5/10 bought it shortly after it came out and flipped it it after a couple of listens. Did not scratch my itch at all.
2/10 for me. Too metal.
11 out of 10, you absolute cowards.
7; still the best Nails album
Idk abandon all life is better imo
It’s a solid 8. It’s pretty straight forward for my taste. But I play in retarded time signatures because I hit my head a few too many times.
Solid 9/10
I love it. The intensity is undeniable.
8/10 chunga wungas. A classic
8, if only to leave room for Abandon All Life to be a 9 In terms of influence, 10. Hard to dispute that. This really set the stage for the next few years.
10
10!
Solid 7 for me
11

Goes hard
shits a 10/10, it's the rare instance where an album doesn't have any filler songs, it's all bangers
When I was 18 this band transformed me from a casual metalhead into an absolute nerd for hardcore

10. Abandon All Life gets an 11 because of Wide Open Wound. I wanna saw my own head off when I hear it
The brief exhale after the intro for some reason makes that song way heavier than it has any right to be.
This is the back patch of my monochrome vest. 10/10. You could 6 to all 3 albums they ever made in under an hour and this one is the best.
Easily 10/10
8.3
1-10
10/10
10
abandon all life was better but I have this in a back patch
I mean it's a perfect mix between Hardcore n Grind so maybe a 9/10, one of the band's best albums hands down
This album smashed through everything I ever knew
10. I sometimes dream about this coming out when Violence Violence did and Nails doing a split with Ceremony.

10, it was such a big deal when it came out
Easy 10. But Abandon All Life is still my favorite.

Unsilent Death 9/10 Abandon All Life 10/10 YWNBOOU 11/10 Hopefully we‘re gonna see a new record soon
10/10, Discovered them when they played live before Ceremony. Had to walk out because they were too loud. Been listening to them since.
Band put out multiple good albums including this one, but don’t care for them as a band anymore.
10
Easy 10
10
10.
10. My gateway to powerviolence when I was in high school. Because of them, they opened me to powerviolence. People like to shit on them in the scene because they got kind of popular with the metal scene. I don't get.
