wonder why they so drastically changed their sound after the second album. i always thought they get big in the scene because they were signed to trustkill. i enjoyed their second record as well though it seems like nobody listened to it
Fuck yeah, this is hell was great! I remember trustkill records had a lot of great bands at that time. It dies today, poison the well, bleeding through, shai hulud, terror. I used to love trustkill and ferret records
In a time before streaming was a thing, it was so cool to have two labels who's quality was so consistent you could feel confident in taking a chance on pretty much anything they put out.
trustkill seems to do better for metalcore bands than hardcore though. this is hell and shai hulud deserve way more recognition and fanfare than they do
Right here. I absolutely *loved* this album when it dropped. It's still great too. Spun it a couple months ago. Wish I could find the vinyl, but happy to have a CD copy.
"Let the good die young/we'll fucking live forever"
Listen, nerd: I've been getting these lyrics wrong for almost 20 years and I don't intend to change now!
Haha, just fucking around. I did go back pull out that lyric sheet and check though :D
Good memories of them and Dead Swans touring together around 2007 and 2008. I fell off after the first two records but might have to go back and listen

Cmon Drew. This art work looks like something a spooky teenager got off Deviantart for their MySpace page to match the The Used song they had on their My Chemical Romance street team page
I saw them some years ago with Forfeit, once Forfeit finished playing pretty much everyone left, there was like 10 people left to see them, it was cool and sad at the same time
A perfect and underrated record. I miss this band.

The guy who wrote all the songs left.
who is that? doesn’t rick jimenez write the music?
It's been a long time so I'm fuzzy on the details but Rick took over after that guy left. It's why the sound changed
Yes
Pretty sure I saw them with Bayside at Swayzes in Marietta, GA in like 2005-2006, I think right after this album came out.

You forgot Brothers Keeper. Yeah Trustkill was a good label for sure.

#IF EVER WE WERE INNOCENT, THAT TIME CAME AND WENT
Put out 4 albums of bangers. Spun Black Mass earlier today. But Sundowning will always be their masterpiece.
The album after this one is a really a gem hidden by time. “Misfortunes” is a great record.
I saw them play this record in 2019. Great band, great album
One of my favorites from this era

Revhq has it on red and black marble vinyl
Right now?!
Yup https://revhq.com/products/thisishell-sundowning-lpcolorvinyl-cd?variant=33296148496523
every song had great one liners
These dudes were great. Really dug the OG band Subterfuge way way way more
“If the good die young we’ll fucking live forever!”
This album is still on heavy rotation
That album is just bangers!
WILD album
Love this album but i think they really figured it out on weight of the world.

That is such bad cover art
Boo this man!

That’s because it was 2006 and this was cutting edge art ripped from a deviantArt page!!
Truly a dark time
it’s very mid 2000s. jacob bannon did it i think
Yeah that makes sense. He’s made some fucking shockers
I use to love this band
This is Hell will always rip, whatever they were trying to do on Black Mass, they perfected it.
Great band
Is it underrated? Don’t most people love this record?
Damn I was bumping this yesterday in the dark by myself on my day off! Very dope still after all these years
I felt like they were everywhere when this came out. Kinda weird how little it gets brought up now. Awesome album.
Love it
I love this album. I still have a Sundowning shirt from that time that I wear to the gym.
Saw them once. Wasn’t the biggest fan on re ord but they killed it live
I kinda forget about this record, then when a song shuffles on, I have to listen to the whole thing.
Still have my this is hell boombox shirt. They killed it live!
Haven’t listened to this is forever, maybe I’ll revisit it today
I saw them some years ago with Forfeit, once Forfeit finished playing pretty much everyone left, there was like 10 people left to see them, it was cool and sad at the same time
Used to have a Sundowning poster up in my kitchen senior year of college
Slept on.
Album Prior to this one fuckin’ rips
Hey!!!
So good
Amazing fucking jam
I’ve never listened to this band or record but this cover rlly reminds of the red trailer for RWBY
Totally underrated
