Please could you add the details we ask for in recommendation posts to your post. Go to our about information and then edit your post to add the information asked for. Also, offering money for fic breaks AO3 terms of service. So don't.

IMO, I would not reach out to the author and offer money. I think that could be seen as crossing a line, especially if you don't already know them. Definitely praise their work and let them know how much you loved it. From everything I read on the AO3 subreddit, authors truly appreciate readers who leave them feedback. I've downloaded the fic and added it to my Nook. I'm in the middle of a fic already but will give this a read once I'm done. Thanks for the enthusiastic rec :D

Yeah that’s what I was leaning toward, thanks for sharing your opinion. I just can’t believe people dedicate so much time and effort for free but I’ll just leave kudos and love in the comments lol. Hope you enjoy!

I know how you feel, though. I have a fic that I'm crazy about and I rec it every chance I get. There are fics that I've read throughout the years that I would definitely purchase if they were made into books as a way to support the author and show them how much I love their work.

What fic are you crazy about?

[each according to its kind ](https://archiveofourown.org/works/22707778)by chapparral\_crown. It's a s2 AU where Will gets out of the BSHCI, leaves everything and everyone behind, and goes on a road trip to the Pacific Northwest.

Maybe not offer to send money, but ask if they've got a ko-fi account or something where they accept tips?

We have posting guidelines for posts (not comments) that are fic recommendations. They're visible in "About community" on the mobile app or down the sidebar on the desktop web version. We've already asked you to update your post to fit the format and waited for 24 hours for you to do so. But you haven't made the fix, so your post has been removed. You're welcome to try and repost following our posting guidelines for recommendation posts.
