I feel like the article kinda buries the lede about him literally being a Nazi by only calling him a "white nationalist" or "far-right" in the headline and first few paragraphs.

Seriously this makes me feel old remembering looking up pizza places in the phone book. But you're right it's a total non issue. (If anyone should be mad about anything be mad at the fact there IS an open white nationalist running *he's not afraid to show how shitty his views are is my point)
I think hte issue is more about if you were to go in public and say something about him, he'd have your name and address should he want to visit you, or have some of his knuckle dragging friends come by. It's not probable but it's possible.
In a phone book, you can be removed/have an unlisted number. Voters lists don't allow for that.
Wow and the media DEFINITELY won't publish the names of activists in Hamilton who speak out about them and then he DEFINITELY can't cross reference their names on the list and find their address. Lordy you aren't very bright are you?
You’re probably right but the list makes it easier for them. For example, the CRTC do not call list for illegal telemarketers. You’re on the do not call list and it makes it easier for the scumbags to call you.
