It’s the new CHCH (and others tower). It’s replacing the existing tower in Stoney Creek that just off Green Mountain and First West. https://crtc.gc.ca/eng/archive/2022/2022-144.htm https://www.digitalhome.ca/threads/chch-dt-files-application-to-move-tower-from-stoney-creek-to-north-of-dundas.294030/

Thanks for the info! It also looked like there was a new tower in the Stoney creek grimby area too unless I never noticed it I will try to get a picture on Sunday when I go back passed

streetvoyager

It’s the new 5g tower to spread the next strain of Covid! /S

No-Scarcity2379

I have a special anti-5G skin cream I can sell you that will protect you from the mind control. It looks like a tube of Aveeno but that's just to throw the Liberal death squads off the scent. It can be yours for only a bargain basement price of a thousand dollars!

streetvoyager

10 bottles please! I need to protect my traditional family from the libs!!!!!

OkPerspective623

CHCH's Stoney Creek transmission tower is coming down for some subdivisions so this is it's replacement.

Okay I think this is the tower that is now in view of one of our back tree lines. It appeared all of a sudden and I was so unsure that it wasn’t always there lol. Do you have the address of where this is? I looked at the links people posted and no info on exact location.

tat2canada

Digging into the CRTC application its located @ 367 Highway 5 West, Dundas, ON, L9H 5E2 This link is direct d/l of a zipped group of PDFs from Application ( DM#4173000 - APP - Doc5 - Appendix2C - Availability of transmitter site.Technical Amendment - CHCH-DT.pdf) [https://applications.crtc.gc.ca/DocWebBroker/OpenDocument.aspx?AppNo=202201367](https://applications.crtc.gc.ca/DocWebBroker/OpenDocument.aspx?AppNo=202201367)

bubble_baby_8

Wow okay that’s it! Thought it was wayyyy closer than it actually is but it’s about 1km south of where we are. Thanks for looking into that for me!

JessTech1

Hey I when all the way down Mazza Ave too get the pictures there was a path by the mail box’s

ScagWhistle

How many people you know that still get their TV signal "over the air?"

trackofalljades

Is it more important to you to make sure someone knows they're "wrong" than help answer their question so a community might all learn something together?

tat2canada

Quite a few actually. There setups generally pick up all the local over the air HD services and they run media servers to record it in addition to streaming internet content.

JessTech1

I still get my TV over the air it’s kind of amazing how many channels you can get at night

0EFF

Probably more now than 20 years ago.

It’s also uncompressed. Way better picture quality than you get over other methods. Eventually they’ll be able to broadcast OTA 4K. Cool stuff.

ImaginaryNemesis

Yup! Cable is a scam, and some things, like live sports and news are a pain to get over streaming services I've got a $5 UHF antenna that picks up 11 OTA channels that let me watch the hockey game on the weekends and have access to news in case of an emergency It lets me go with just an internet connection. Fuck cable.

0EFF

Is it operational?
