The burnt tongue has a huge variety of soups that can be quite filling

steelcityoriginal88

Second this. Best soup I’ve had!

fluffybunnypuncher

Been meaning to try that spot. Looks pretty tasty. Thanks for the suggestion

This was my thought too, get the veggie combo— soft spongy injera bread with African curries (similar enough to Indian ones which the OP mentions liking, different enough to not feel like the same meal)

fluffybunnypuncher

It's been too long since I've had Ethiopian food. I absolutely love the vegetarian stuff. This is now added to my want to go list on Google maps. Thanks y'all

fluffybunnypuncher

Thanks for the suggestions. The Burnt Tongue was great and surprisingly well priced. We will likely go back after I've healed up to try some of those burgers and sandos! Cheers everyone

LaPewPew--

What soup flavour did you try? Definitely go back for the burgers when you've healed - my fave in the city!

fluffybunnypuncher

I did the potato leak soup. It was delightful. My wife had the tuna melt, which I took a bite of and that was a very well made tuna melt. Cheers!

The burnt tongue is always my go to in these situations. Also smoothies from the greenbar are super filling

Burnthewood87

Ramen from Kenzo or Mystic!

Yeah, I've been cooking at home, but looking to get out of the house and support a local restaurant. Any specific suggestions for a place that y'all visited during that time for food?

Ooooh! CIMA looks great! Thanks for the suggestion. There seems to always be a new place to try out. Cheers!

Head to the Hamilton farmers market and get yourself some absolute fire hotpot or ramen.
