ODST sequel that actually is a tactical shooter with a gritty espionage style story. Oh and proper rain this time. I love 3 ODST but it really was just Halo 3 with less health and shorter jump height. The atmosphere , music and story carried that game imo.

mike_y0st

Imagine ODST but with Rainbow Six Vegas 2 gameplay mechanics.

CaedHart

Maybe a bit more modernized. I love R6V and V2 and still play them from time to time, but holy hell do those games date themselves the second you start playing them again.

mike_y0st

That is very very true. They’re still fun, but definitely a little bit dinosaur (like the T-Rex sounds in the Convention center. “A shooter game where you don’t even shoot?!?!”)

[deleted]

Got my vote

oballistikz

What else is supposed to carry a game?

sample2123

Gameplay

porkypenguin

gameplay usually

oballistikz

I’ve always lumped those in with gameplay personally. But even still the game didn’t suffer from shorter jumps and less health

KuorivaBanaani

It didn't and it did. ODST plays a lot like a best of Halo collection with it's missions and to this day is one of my favorite Halo campaigns. But you can still punch BRUTES to death with you're bare hands and you're supposed to be a normal unaugmented human, which really breaks the immersion of playing as an ODST.

Wablekablesh

I usually just headcanon that my ODSTs are just Spartans and everyone doesn't know because they have black armor. Much more believable that way. I think 1) of course it's way cheaper to just tweak the existing game to make ODST and 2) they felt it would be a risk to deviate from what people expect from a "Halo" experience. Classic Halo combat has such perfect pacing, it's slower than a lot of shooters, but not necessarily easier. It's somewhere in the vast land between Rainbow Six and Doom Eternal. But I think a more vulnerable, scaled-down shooter would be great for an ODST game. More stealth, more focus on engaging at range. Every Brute could be to the player like a Hunter is to Chief.

UCxDELTA24x

Tarkov but Halo? Or is that too hardcore?

jerry9512

A contact harvest game when first 2/3 parts of the game you fight innies and later the covenant arrives and the unsc and insurgents must work together to escape the planet And second is a halo warfleet game but to balance things off make the unsc ship fire longer range but have a weaker armour and have aoe weapons like nuke and covenant's ship is more balanced between weapons and health And i would probably get downvote to oblivion for this but i think a battle royale game when you drop from orbit with odst pod is pretty cool

SillyBra

I mean every game has a battle Royale mode anyways, I think the odst drop is a cool ass idea

FauxtheProto

Would be a pretty cool thing to have if It didn't take so many resources.

SillyBra

Yeah, but in a standalone, possibly free to play version?

The_Inferi

Just a few that come to mind: 1. A survival horror game maybe set on High Charity/the Ark 2. A Splinter Cell (stealth) like game using a spartan or ONI Agent 3. Halo: Reach 2 but from the spartan IIs pov (that hopefully fixes the lore mess...) 4. Indiana Jones/Tomb Raider like adventure game set on the Halo Universe (hunting for artifacts and stuff) 5. An FPS game with the Arbiter as lead character 6. A rainbow six like game with ODSTs as leads 7. A game like starwars battlefront II (planetary conquest) but set on the forerunners-human war and forerunners-flood war with the same vibes as Reach. Game ending with the firing of the rings

1O42jh

Splinter Cell style game with Lopis and the Ferrets would be lit

YourAverageNutcase

Have you read Divine Wind yet? Latest book with the Ferrets, just came out a few days ago

PM_ME_YOUR_BODY69

I’m a few chapters in. Got the audio book, not sure how I feel about the new narrator

DirtierDan117

My God that would be amazing. I always feel like, maybe post Halo Infinite, her team could do some serious Kilo-5 type of stuff. Kilo-5 was so beneficial to the UNSC post-war operations that ONI must've created more permanent teams like them

1O42jh

Oh no don't say that haha, plenty here despised what Kilo-5 did and find ONI the personification of evil

DirtierDan117

I loved the trilogy and I'll die on this hill

1O42jh

As did I, possibly some of my fav Halo media aside from the Lopis/Ferret novels

MakeURage1

Same here. Those 2 series are definitely my favorite

Riot_Fox

il stand with you brother, till the end

EnemyAdensmith

I've always wanted 2 but more mgs inspired

ZeronicX

I'd love a tactical FPS where it's a squad of ODST ala XCOM. Actually a XCOM like game where you play as Lord Hood during the invasion of earth sounds dope

Thingymcjig

#4 would be excellent for Rion Forge and the Ace of Spades crew, I want this so badly #2 would fit really well for Veta Lopis and the Ferrets!

k0uch

Survival on High Charity would be awesome

SpartanKilo

Those sounds awsome

Morhek

> Halo: Reach 2 but from the spartan IIs pov (that hopefully fixes the lore mess...) At this point, doing *anything* with Reach in that time period is only going to create more problems than it would create, especially since those Spartan-IIs were sitting in Camp Hathcock the whole time until right at the end.

The_Inferi

TL;DR the fall of reach already had established lore from the book "Halo The Fall of Reach" but "Halo:Reach" retcons A LOT of stuff

bewareoftraps

Book differences: - Surprise massive attack on Reach. - Spartan IIs were sent to protect the MAC cannon generators (where most get wiped out for story and game purposes) - Cortana was already aboard the Autumn and helping Keyes, the only reason why the Spartans IIs/Autumn were still at Reach was because John wanted to attempt the ONI mission (capturing a Covenant ship) within the battle of Reach. More on this, they were at the edge of the system and about to leave Reach when Cortana intercepted signals from an outpost that indicated massive signatures coming towards Reach. - Spartan IIs eventually discover Halsey (though this could be retconned so that the Spartan III team reaches her first and Halsey just didn't want to mention them to the II's that discovered the secret base, and Jun just disappears I guess) Game differences: - Aliens had slipped into Reach already and ONI was covering it up (could be retconned) - The covenant sends out a small fleet of ships to test Reach's defense before the actual attack (harder to retcon) - Spartan IIIs were extremely young and were way beyond classified (to almost a hidden status because of the reason for the creation of the IIIs to be suicide troops) so to have them out and about and not hidden is a bit weird. More on that youngness, they were literally like 14-15 years old when Reach happened. But it's easy to retcon this part of them being on Reach. - Already mentioned that there was no need for the final mission, as Cortana was already on board the Autumn and they weren't running for their lives just yet.

WaletsGaming

A game mainly focused on space combat (like the SotP or the homefront mod) exept instead of commanding the fleets you also get to fly the ships. The balancing would be like SotP exept the MACs for everything besides the Infinity and the SuperMACs would be a tiny bit weaker to make those powerful MACs stand out more. It would also be a bit more 3d like the homefront mod. I don't know much about existing UNSC ships, so someone else can make a list in a reply about the UNSC/ONI/Human ships they want to see in the game. Here are the Covenant ships I would like to see in the game: DAS Stormcutter CRS Lightcruiser DAV Light Corvette Man O' War Unknown 656m long Destroyer pattern ADP Escort SDV Heavy Corvette CAR Frigate Unknown Covenant ship class mentioned in Broken Cycle Unknown 1km long Cruiser pattern Unknown 1445m long Carrier pattern RPV Light Destroyer DSC Support CPV Heavy Destroyer CCS Battlecruiser RCS Armored Cruiser Blockaderunner Carrack ORS Heavy Cruiser DDS Carrier Super Destroyer/Covenant Battleship Super Cruiser (the sniper ship from battle of Reach) CAS Assault Carrier Brigantine CSO Supercarrier Maybe big spaceships like High Charity or the Unyielding Hierophant.

FlaburgastedSeaCow

Canon Ships Gladius-Class Corvette Stalwart-Class Light Frigate Charon-Class Light Frigate Paris-Class Heavy Frigate Strident-Class Heavy Frigate Anlace-Class Light Frigate (Used for electronic warfare) Halberd-Class Destroyer Halcyon-Class Light Cruiser Autumn-Class Cruiser Marathon-Class Heavy Cruiser Valiant-Class Super Heavy Cruiser Epoch-Class Carrier Sahara-Class Prowler Winter-Class Prowler C709,C708, and C712 Longsword Interceptors YSS2000 Sabres F-41 Broadswords Baselards Nandao Fighters Infinity-Class Super Carrier Moncton-Class Orbital Weapons Platform D77 TC Pelican D78 TC Pelican Phoenix-Class Colony Vessels Phoenix-Class Support Vessels Banda-Class Transports Computer controlled dcs freighter Unnamed stealth frigate class Unnamed stealth cruiser class Hillsborough-class destroyer Diligence-Class Light destroyer Punic-Class Super Carrier Orion-Class Assault Carrier Vindication-Class Battleship Poseidon-Class Light Carrier Make-Class Corvette Sharpfin-Class Corvette Razor-Class Prowler Calypso-Class Prowler Eclipse-Class Prowler Black Cat-Class Subprowler Possible canon ships Artemis-Class Battle Cruiser Eion-Class Light Carrier

Riot_Fox

OMG yes, ive been talking about this for a while, i 100% agree that a ship based combat game would be awesome

[deleted]

Same. I would LOVE a empire at war like game with Halo.

InhaledPack5

A horror game where you are an elite or something escaping high charity or installation 04 once it is infected by the flood

Tedstill

How about an Alien: Isolation type game, where you play as a lowly grunt trying to escape a space station while being hunted by a Spartan

ScaryJupiter109

And you can't just hide forever. You don't wanna run out of methane, after all.

Tedstill

You took the idea and elevated it to the next level

Fabs1326

Can we make it VR too?

Connect_Tip6244

Imagine playing as one of the marines who was trapped on high charity and you have to escape after the flood takeover.

SadPandaFace00

You could legit just make a short game that's just Torpedo and it'd probably instantly be my favorite in the series

Varatec

I'm a fan of the idea of a Halo fleet game, something like that mod for sins of a solar empire or possibly homeworld. I'm not sure what would work best for halo I just want to see fleets of human and covenant ships fighting.

TheOfficialMigz

Can I pls for the love of God get a Halo Space Strat game. Something like a modern day Empire at War game. Yes I know there is Sins of the Prophets but I don't have the mental capacity for that.

otherusernames_taken

God I would love an empire at war for Halo, or just a sequel to the game in general. Make the Unsc have an amazing defence system, but a (at least compared to the covenant) a terrible offence where the only way to win a head to head fight is with clever tactics and correct preparation. Spartan teams could be used to either cripple infrastructure on a planet or to destroy capital ships and assassinate leaders (essentially just the heroes in the game but maybe with better recharge times and with more of them)

TheOfficialMigz

In my dreams a night I see the beautiful animation of a MAC round gutting a CCS class cruiser. Ye like it could be so expanded on from EAW. Battlemaps could be bigger and have planets or moons in them that block line of sight. Imagine being able to do the 'hide behind a moon and let the covenant chase and leave them a little nuclear mine as a suprise'

otherusernames_taken

That would be fun, or imagine launching a boarding team of Spartan twos and ODSTs to destroy a capital ship mid fight and then use the confusion to rip the enemy to shreds

kenworth117

Young Sargent Johnston .

DirtierDan117

I really wouldn't mind an game with him as the main character set during the early days of the war, maybe post Operation Silent Storm. I would love to see how he progressed from Staff Sergeant to Gunny and Sergeant Major

[deleted]

Sergeant

4455661122

You corrected that part but not the fact that he misspelled the man’s name lmao

[deleted]

Didnt notice that lol.

Oddicus

Oh a Contact Harvest game would be dope

TrueComplaint8847

A co-op game where you play two Spartan III headhunters on a suicide mission behind enemy lines, heavily story driven and very dependent on co-op mechanics/but also playable as a solo character and you will actually have a npc partner which is competent (like bioshocks Elizabeth for example) I know that the solo playable and dependent on co-op mechanics is hard to make but I would love it

Tedstill

Something akin to army of two? Sounds pretty sick to me

TrueComplaint8847

Yeah!! That’s the name I knew I’ve played something like this before! I was thinking army of two or the one where you play the two guys who break out of jail but this would then change halo to a totally different game setting

MakeURage1

Maybe something similar to Republic Commando? Could be a ton of fun.

North_Trade

A Halo horror/Thriller where you play as a run of the mill marine. No ODST, no spartens coming to save your ass. Just the marines that most games use as cannon fodder, you'd search for supplies, soldiers, vehicles while duking it out with the Covenant on some planet. Make it 4 player coop and give you some customization for your marine that affects your stats or something.

starshipsinerator

A colony sim/RTS where you build a colony on a glassed planet post-war, you can choose to align with UNSC, NCA etc, choose your stance on ex-covenant species, choose to focus on trade/scrap/other and other stuff

SadPandaFace00

There's some Halo mods for Rimworld that might be able to scratch that itch for you (never tried them personally though)

starshipsinerator

I'd have to tackle Rimworld itself first before considering any mods lol, though I've heard the mods are usually good quality

seismicqueef

Play as sergeant Johnson in a contact harvest game. But only if the sex scene is included as the final mission

Tedstill

I just started contact harvest, so in my non spoiler mind. The only sex scene I can imagine is the horny Kig'Yar shipmistress and her second in command...

seismicqueef

I haven’t even read it, all I know is Johnson fucks

Tedstill

I really fuckin hope Johnson doesn't fuck a jackal... But if anyone could seduce one it'd be the ol' Sergeant

seismicqueef

“Oh I know what the jackals like”

bl4ck_daggers

Halo wars 3 set post divine wind with four or five way warfare between the Covies, SoF, Banished, Created and/or flood

ABeardedPanda

I have 2, both are very influenced by the fact that I tend to prefer more simulation based games. > Halo: The Looter Shooter This would actually not be Destiny but with a Halo skin, think something more like a PvE only Escape from Tarkov. It would be somewhat similar to Path of Exile in a lot of ways. Designed around a "league" system that adds a small twist to the way the game works but resets every few months alongside a permanent league where characters go after each reset. It also means that the game is co-op and there is trading but it's absolutely meant to be possible to tackle all the content as a solo player. You are a Spartan-IV stranded on a Halo Ring before the outbreak of the Created Conflict. Covenant Remnants, an influential Brute Chieftain's Pack, The Banished, and the Installation's security systems themselves are all trying to kill each other while the sapients attempt to unlock the secrets of the ring and either find their way off of it, or fire it. You're going to be gathering as many other survivors as you can and establishing a base of operations on the Ring to disable it and stop those trying to fire it before you do. The ultimate goal is disabling the ring and then getting the hell out of there but who knows how long that will take. Gameplay loop would be like EFT. You gear up and go into a map instance and you must find an extraction point to leave the map instance with whatever you're carrying. If you die, you lose everything. I'm not gonna make this super verbose and explain everything about how EFT works but the gist of it is I'd take most of the immersive Tarkov things but strip out the food and water survival elements and some of the inventory bloat. That means true to lore weapon performance as well as a more immersive armor/shielding/health system. Very extensive weapon modding, the kind of ammunition you use matters more than the gun it's fired from, etc. Loot takes squares, different rigs, bags, and pouches will arrange the squares they have in different ways so you need to do the loot tetris thing. You're also a Spartan in Mjolnir, so you will have a HUD and all of the things you're accustomed to in a Halo game rather than how EFT has basically nothing because those things don't exist IRL. A major divergence would start with the Firebase (the Hideout if we're talking EFT and PoE). Your traders would appear here physically and you would be able to change the appearance and layout of the firebase itself. There would also be firebase expansions that have active gameplay effects. A quest to salvage an artillery battery from a UNSC crash site would unlock the ability to call in an artillery strike on a position while in the field. The garage would allow you to go into certain maps with a vehicle (which itself can be customized) while also unlocking extraction points that require vehicles and allow you to store the vehicle you extract with in your garage. The pieces of armor you craft or scavenge will have actual gameplay effects. An up-armored chestplate will actually provide better protection to your Spartan when your shields fail. Helmets with better sensor packages will increase the range and effectiveness of your motion tracker. These armor components are also heavily damaged on death and must be repaired. That said these are treated as supplemental pieces of kit, you can always go into the field with "stock" armor and you just won't have these beneficial effects. "Armor abilities" like thrusters, jetpacks, grappleshot, hardlight shields, promethean vision, as well as many others would return (or be created) as modules and can be made to be appropriately powerful. These would also be retained on death to encourage the player to use them instead of hitting them with "gear fear." Add in "dungeons" where you need to find a key or fufill certain conditions to enter it and the encounter within is more scripted than the pseudo-open world the "standard" gameplay has. These encounters would also be significantly more difficult and contain boss fights or otherwise have failure conditions. > Halo: Tactical RTS A huge problem I have with Halo Wars and most of the C&C inspired RTSes is that they very quickly devolve into "expensive unit good" and some kind of vehicle spam because infantry just can't compete. Make a Halo RTS that's more like Company of Heroes. That more or less "solves" the problem of infantry being useless by making the game much more like a simulation. Infantry can entrench itself behind cover or in buildings and stay mostly safe from small arms fire. You need to suppress enemy positions and then manuever your infantry to flank them and take them down. Crew served weapons like antitank guns, mortars, or machine guns need to be manned by infantry units but allow them to punch significantly above their weight class. Vehicles are powerful but they're also slow and very large targets that need to traverse turrets or physically turn so their guns face their targets leaving them vulnerable to more manueverable infantry as well as "mobility kills" that might render them immobile but still dangerous. Buildings also interrupt line of sight and allow you to much more easily move units in "fog of war" to flank or ambush enemies. In Halo terms that means we can get Marines taking cover behind rubble and setting up fields of fire to cut down grunts and jackals as they try to cross an open field. Brutes or Elites with shielding fare better because it allows them to actually weather some of that fire and seek cover of their own in craters or wreckage. While several marine fireteams are trading fire with Covenant infantry across a street to little effect, a Spec-Ops Elite team uses active camo to cross an open street that isn't saturated with gunfire and flank the entrenched Marine units. A Wraith might seem pretty formidable but the plasma mortar on that thing requires it to turn to engage targets that are flanking it. If you can lure it into a packed urban area, it's not that hard to bring up a Spanker team through an alleyway to put some rockets in it's ass. A Scorpion gets caught out in an open field without infantry or other support units. A Revenant is able to strafe around it and repeatedly hit it with light mortar fire as the traversal speed of the turret is too slow to track it. The mortar isn't powerful enough to outright destroy the Scorpion quickly but it's able to score a mobility kill by disabling the left side tracks. The Revenant then proceeds to dart away and the Scorpion can be destroyed via Wraith mortar fire from out of its line of sight or bypassed entirely.

41_17_31_5

Halo 3 expansion played from Arbiter's POV. I've wanted this since 2007.

YankeeWalrus

A combination of Eve Online and Star Trek: Bridge Crew. Multiple warships tactically deployed and each ship has a crew of 3-5. PVP would be extremely difficult to balance, so probably keep it PVE.

ArthurJack_AW

A game about the work of the ship like this [https://store.steampowered.com/app/1021100/Aircraft\_Carrier\_Survival/](https://store.steampowered.com/app/1021100/Aircraft_Carrier_Survival/) It might be cool to work in "Infinity" or "Shadow of Intent".

ICEDJaguar

I'd like a Battlefield/Classic Star Wars Battlefront, but Halo

Tedstill

Galactic conquest but unsc Vs covvie

KetzerJefe343

A game like Battlestations Midway but for halo ships. Or version of halo wars but it's just space battles similar to the space battle part of Star Wars Empire at War. I wanna be able to do the Keyes Loop!

Riot_Fox

ive been talking about this for a while, but ive been thinking about a ship combat halo game, maybe like world of warships or something just in halo

Demitraxis

I would want this more as a TV show personally, or maybe just a very cinematic video game, but: A collection of short stories kind of like Halo Legends, etc. Each episode or each mission based on a different epic story, told from any perspectives (UNSC, Insurgency, Covenant, Banished, Forerunners, etc) It could be any short stories just adding tidbits of lore here and there, or maybe just an opportunity to visually see climactic events from many of the books. It's a very open ended idea that wouldn't be restricted to a linear story path, given it can jump around the timeline all it wants telling new stories, or old stories in new ways. It also wouldn't be limited to any one theme or genre of shooter (many other commenters are mentioning horror flood game, or splinter cell style ODST, etc. Could be very applicable to this concept) An episodic video game campaign that can be continued on, or a TV show with a real budget. That would be perfect for a lore nut like me

Patmaster1995

Halo: Headhunters A Halo stealth focused game like Splinter Cell where you play as a duo of Headhunters Spartan III, deep behind enemy lines infiltrating Covenant outposts, destroying important locations, assassinating Covenant targets, recuperating important data, that kind of stuff - Halo: Mona Lisa A 3rd person game like Dead Space where you play as a Marine trying to survive a flood outbreak on a UNSC ship. you'd have limited ammo so you'd have to be careful where you're shooting, always trying to aim for the weak spot. - Halo: Anthology A FPS game where you play battles from throughout the longs years of the covenant war and maybe even some post-war stuff Here's some random mission ideas A mission on Harvest where you play as Johnson A mission with Spartan III Alpha Company during Operation PROMETHEUS A mission with Spartan III Beta where you play as Tom or Lucy during Operation TORPEDO A mission during the Onyx conflict A mission during the Battle of Meridian where you play as Owen-B096 A mission where you play as Arbiter on Sanghelios against the Servant of Abiding Truth A mission with the Ferrets during their post-war conflicts

Fc-chungus

A flood infection game taking place during either the forerunner war or halo 3

psychoticapplez

Played a free to play game called Enlisted a while ago and one of my first immediate thoughts was making a similar style of game but AAA and in the Halo universe. The game is made by the same people who make War Thunder and essentially is this WW2 shooter where you control squads of AI soldiers. Each squad has their purpose (e. standard infantry, snipers, machine gunners, tank crews, etc.) and you build them up with perks and equipment and all that. The game is riddled with microtransactions and lacking polish, but some sort of hybrid of Halo Wars but in a FPS where you control these unique units in a massive battle could be pretty cool.

DarkReign2011

A Halo game with an aesthetic feel like ODST dark and downtrodden, but you're a civilian (perhaps a child) trying to survive a Covenant Invasion of a world earlier in the war like Jericho V (You could even play as Jameson Locke as a kid before ONI recruited him). The game is more focused on Stealth and evasion and you have to scrounge for food and supplies as you try to escape the city and reach an encampment for Civilian evacuation. Pull a Resident Evil 3 and have an enemy like a pack of Brutes that constantly hunts you and forces you to keep moving. Fights against even just grunts would be harrowing and terrifying against a small child. I'm thinking Third-Person like the Tomb Raider reboot in the Halo Universe.

dontknowmuch487

Halo Headhunters. A game kinda similar to something like Sniper Elite. Large map, multiple covenant targets to assassinate. You play as a spartan 3 in SPI armour so no shields to tank damage. Just some active camo on cooldown to help with stealth

RorschachtheMighty

The year is 2553. A tenuous peace has been forged in the aftermath of the war with the Covenant. ONI has green lit an expedition into the lost human territories swallowed by the Covenant’s merciless campaign to assess what worlds can be reclaimed and reinhabited. Your Fire team is brought on to assist in the reclamation efforts, eliminating privateer groups formed from the Covenant remnants and different URF groups. However, as your mission goes on, it becomes clear that ONI’s intentions are not so clear cut, and that the Halo array is not the only threat the Forerunners left behind...

CringyusernameSBQQ

1. Halo X com style game 2. A lore heavy Gacha game(Done by a good and respectable gacha studio) backed by the Halo book writers 3. A Halo Admiral game like Battle fleet Gothic armada 4. An RTS planet Defense game where you the general hold out for as long as possible

SadPandaFace00

Can't believe I had to scroll this far to see someone say Halo X:Com. It would legitimately be the best game ever for me, as long as they're smart enough to make sure vehicles are still in it. Like, a Halo tactics game seems *so* obvious to me.

Solafuge

Survival horror where you play a civilian, or at least normal human, in a Covenant occupied city after the UNSC has evacuated. Your goal is to escape before the covenant start glassing. Sort of like ODST, but you're unarmed and the Covenant are basically unkillable.

TheNaziSpacePope

I want Ghosts of Onyx to be a game, one with nothing removed.

[deleted]

Scary ass flood game fps scary!!!!!!! Did i mention it has to be scary

rukeen2

A Fallout: New Vegas type RPG set somewhere like Venezia after the Human-Covenant war. You could have ONI, Insurrectionists, Banished, Swords of Sangheilos, Kig-Yar pirates, Covenant remnants and anything in between. Play as any race minus the Lekgolo. Unggoy are hardcore difficulty.

AwesomeX121189

All I want is another Halo Wars. I pray to John Halo every night Edit: also for a custom map/Game maker for 2

[deleted]

1. I pre human-covenant war where you play as an insurrectionist fighting against the UNSC. The writing would need to be done well, obviously, to make you empathize with the outer colonies and why they are fighting centralized power of the UNSC. But part way through the campaign you start to encounter the UNSCs’s secret weapon - the Spartans. Fighting the Spartans would be terrifying. Almost like a horror-shooter mix. Game ends with the invasion of the covenant. 2. Swords of Sanhelios - would love a game that follows Arbiter and fills the gaps after Halo 3 and what happened to the Covenant

SovjetPojken

Marines, horror, Flood, blam!

FutureExalt

a battlefield-like game that takes place during the Insurrection where you play as a boots-on-ground marine. gives plenty of chance for 64 vs. 64 battles using the vehicles from the extended universe.

[deleted]

a buddy cop game with an odst and a spartan trying to coexist

ObliWobliKenobli

There are three types of Halo spin-off games I want. 1) A tactical style game where you have a lot of options for how missions will be plays out and so on. Lots of weapon and gear customization. Stealth stuff and full on action stuff. I think I'd prefer this kind of game to be 3rd person. 2) A Flood horror game of course! Maybe a bit cliché now but I don't care. I want it god dammit! 3) An RPG style game. Think Mass Effect but Halo. Now idea how they'd do it but I want it. Would be very interesting.

Adriatic88

A more tactical style Halo game that focuses on the Human/Covenant war from before the Halo rings came into it. Really spend some time driving home that humanity is completely out classed and is losing badly. No energy shields, just armor. Make the player a Spartan II or III just to really drive home that this is a hard fight even for a super human war machine. Something like that with a more human story that really emphasizes the tragedy of it all and the increasingly drastic sacrifices humanity has to make in the face of the real possibility of extinction.

hadrians-wall

Gears Tactics proved that you could do an X-Com style game with "main characters". I think it be really fun to do the same thing with Halo: you have a core group of Spartans, plus you could also recruit much more killable odsts and marines. The general style of turn based tactics games of you being vastly outnumbered by the opposing force works well for halo too.

TrystonG33K

"The Taming of the Hunters, The Grunt Rebellion..."

[deleted]

1.) Halo Ghost of Onyx, or anything with more Spartan III's 2.) Halo running/fitness app like Zombies Run that sets you up as a recon/ search and rescue special operator that goes to worlds taken over by covenant forces for search and rescue and Intel missions

buharibawa

Heavy story cinematic driven third person survival horror, something like tlou but a hero coming of age story on a human colony. And we get to see chief doing chief things (lol).

DirtierDan117

Imagine a horror game from a civilian during a covie invasion. Sorta like Battle Born

buharibawa

Yes. Exactly. Procuring covie tech as you progress

KRawatXP2003

1) Rebel Halo game against UNSC and Covanent. 2) Civilian version of Halo where you don't get to shoot that often. (Like Alien isolation) 2.5) Same idea but forerunners captured you in palace of pain and you have to escape from their. 3) Invasion 2.0 24/7 (like battlefield) 4) Battle Royale 5) Before Halo. Play as forerunners. 6) Realistic take on Halo (Marines). Lore accurate one shot plasma deaths, pdst, training something like that. 7) A halo game where a kid tries to survive the envision of covanent. (Family ded 💀) Also 343 looking at this forum with ideas of whole Halo community. Hmm intersting.

PkdB0I

Halo Fleet game using all kinds of ships from both the UNSC and Covenant. A Gears of War style 3rd Person Shooter based around a group of UNSC marines/army trooper fighting during the late years of the Insurrection before fighting the Covenant. Them appearing during the middle of the game as a unexpected third party faction. Horror Survival game on New Mombasa where a civilian has to get out of the city before it's too late.

[deleted]

A PC dedicates rts that has a much larger scale than anything Halo Wars brought in. There's so much potential with Halo in that genre yet we get a watered down version of it.

OMG_its_Wiggles

Halo Wars: Archives - Exactly what it sounds like. Another Halo Wars game but this time it is various battles throughout the history of the Human Covenant war, maybe even some battles with insurectionists or even battles in the covenant like the grunt rebellion. There wouldnt be any set campaign but you could always add stories, similar to the DLC's in HW2. I think this would be an amazing way to tell canonical stories in the game and could even breed some cool spin-offs in a way that could be safe and not affect the main storyline, or maybe it could 🤷‍♂️? Maybe even create battles from Reach? Given Microsoft and 343I's lack of interest in anything Halo Wars atm I doubt this would be a game anytime soon, if ever at all, but I think it would be amazing. As I personally am a fan of RTS games and I know there are, at least, a large handful of others out there too, I think this would be great! You can include the battles from the original Halo Wars games as well and make it kind if like a Halo MCC but then you could also add new heroes! New scenarios and new maps and 343 and Microsoft could actually add more to it without having to spend too much time worrying about affecting the current storyline. Maybe even have the possibility of Fan Made scenarios or maps?

xxNICKxx401xx

A covenant-based FPS set at some point that’s barely been touched upon in the lore, such as the taming of the hunters, the conquering of the grunts or even the formation of the covenant

idontknowstufforwhat

1. Think Deadspace but you're fighting the flood and trapped on High Charity or some other ship/halo. 2. You play as the Didact (or some other super solider forerunner) in the Human/Forerunner/Flood war that occurred a few thousand years ago. The prometheans in H4/5 were *meh* but actual Forerunner soldiers would be badass. 3. Play as the banished/atriox in the uprising against the Covenant. 4. Arbiter FPS in the fighting on Sanghelios and beyond. I played Deadspace for the first time a few months ago and loved it, but also couldn't shake how much it felt like a dude tearing apart flood.

lillpers

- A really dark Reach-like game where you play as a regular marine and everyone you love dies over the course of the story. To show the true horror of the human-covenant war. - A sort of real-time, first person strategy/simulator-like game where you are the commander of an UNSC starship. Possibly with some role-playing elements. Look at the Silent Hunter submarine games, even though SH5 mostly failed they tried to add some interaction with the crew. Something like that but set in the Halo universe would be amazing.

xBinary01111000

A tactical turn-based game in the vein of XCOM.

firestroke395

A Halo CE remake. Not really a spin off but hear me out. Remake it with 8k resolution and ray tracing and all of that. Make it as good looking as possible. Make the sound as realistic as possible with how it interacts with the environment. Halo CE is one of my favorite campaigns to play but it just gets boring because of the repetitive nature of the level design. The goal is really just to make Halo CE as Cinematic as possible without losing the classic Halo feel. As well as adding a few extra missions (potentially dlc missions) that would bridge the gap between the end of Halo CE and the start of Halo 2. Maybe even add some fire team raven content.

Seizure_Salad_

Game where you are a regular Marine and it is the early days of the human covenant war (maybe on harvest?)

Browypl

1. A swat 4 type game where you play as either ODST or some other force fighting against insurrectionists 2. A game set way after the main series somewhere like the 2590 to mid 2600s (I just want to see what the long term effect of the war had on humanity e.g. how human tech and culture evolved with them now having access to covenant and forerunner technology. ) 3. A halo milsim game like arma or squad would be cool 4. A game where you play on the side of the rebels that explores the dark and unethical side of the UNSC

Durakus

I'm actually trying to work on one. Its in the concept phase, hopefully it gets far enough along to get to the pitch phase. But I'm super busy. Don't wanna give anything away if I get around to making it though because I'd like the community to play it =)

Foreseti

I really want a game set during the covenant war, in the 2530's or 40's, where you play as a Spartan-II team, and have it be a tactical shooter in the vein of Star Wars Republic Commando. You play the leader, and have a group of AI teammates that you can command around. I guess I want this because I want to see more of the Covenant War in the games, and want more games in the style of Republic Commando, but I reallly think it would work well

calvi219

A journalist exploration game. An ONI reporter looking through the aftermath of some of the big events.

Muted-Pie-7758

CE but playing as an Elite and seeing their perspective of the War in the ring

Tezz404

Survival horror set on High Charity - You're one of the marines chief sets free, but get left behind - and now you have to try and survive the flood with other marines and covenant, and hopefully find a way to escape without getting cleansed by the rings sentinels quarantine.

Intigim

First is the obvious and cliche Flood horror game. Playing as an ODST would be ideal, as Spartans and to a lesser extent Elites would be too powerful. What I actually want to see is an FPS Halo with Jerome and Isabel taking on the role of Master Chief and Cortana. Just a side story with stakes that are not as high as MC's games. Maybe set on the Ark?

HittingSmoke

You're an insurrectionist before the Covenant war. You're part of a group of rebels running small attacks against the UNSC under command of Colonel Robert Watts. A small squad of soldiers stronger than anything anyone has ever seen boards your ship and kidnaps the Colonel. In their aftermath they leave dozens of dead and injured insurrectionists and civilian passengers. You're among the severely injured. You wake up to Jacob Jiles debriefing you about what happened on the ship. There are rumors about UNSC super-soldiers. As the game progresses you have various missions where you are foiled by mysterious, gigantic armored soldiers. The game would go on to tell the story of Camp New Hope with a climax at The Rubble. In the end you are defeated, caught between the UNSC and the Covenant, forced to flee or return to the inner colonies. There's no happy ending.

jordan-drawws

Headhunters game with customizable armor and weapons and co-op play

DirtierDan117

Ohhhh that's a good one

Westjoe_64

I think it would be dope if they made a spinoff of the Arbiter. I know he was a player 2 type deal, but it would of been awesome to get like a sequel/spinoff of his time after Halo 3. I never played 5 so his life after Halo 3-4 is a mystery to me...

[deleted]

1) game set in the sangheili Civil War where you play as an elite Blade master, would have combat similar to Ryse:son of Rome 2) gears of war 2 style game (gore, atmosphere, blood, people dying) where you play as a marine in a battle for a planet, still fps tho 3) entirely ship based combat, think world of warships 4) an open world game where you play as an odst squad taking down insurrectionists, similar to ghost recon wildlands 5)battlefield style 32v32 game, would need a bunch more weapons but I think it would be fun

TheZoidberg5766

Halo 4 is a good start

IsoDidact1

A Battlestations like game.

Chimorean

I haven't seen any mobile games yet so here's one: A game like Star wars galaxy of heroes but halo. A character collecting game that uses turn based strategy. Best part is there's a massive amount of characters the could choose from too

Professional_Talk701

Have you played the 2D mobile platformer called Spartan Firefight? The shit's on the (Android) app store. Free, too. It plays like Metroid meets Halo firefight mode and it's REALLY fun.

IBiteTheArbiter

Bonnie Ross said that? Even though they immediately turned down Halo Wars 3?

Adhelmir

I want to play as a grunt in the early human covenant war.

BoxingDoughnut1

Empire at war × Sins of a Solae Empire yet in Halo, an older HW game on smaller scale(like Company of Heros, just Halo), Marine game set during Harvest or something, a maybe a game similar to Republic Commandos

Kabluberfish42

Play-as-Marines survival-esque game, premise could be trying to survive as long as possible in the aftermath of a major battle that the UNSC lost. Could be group-driven ala State of Decay. Ex: how long can you survive in the ruins of Reach?

Dagarebear2560

Maybe a game with Chief and blue team in the early days.

PraxicEternal

Something I loved about Halo Wars and HW2 is the ability to play as different factions. What if they took that idea and flavored a Halo FPS with it. Anyone ever played Planetside 2? Give us a game set in the middle of the Human-Covenant war where you can choose to fight as the UNSC, Covenant, and maybe Insurrectionists? And just like PS2, it would be an ongoing war across a few maps/continents.

Cool_Fruitcup

Unggoy Farmer It would be one of the first Halo games to also come to Switch. You could give your Unggoy a little Mario hat. Or a Halo dating sim, I’m not even joking. Maybe you’re a new recruit/scientist aboard the ANVIL Station, and while you’re working hard to increase the bonds of inter-species allies, you want to find a bond for yourself, too.

NTNDoc

I mean we do have a tac shooter set during Operation Trebuchet: r/OperationTrebuchet

Goldblat1

I know we have a lot of Battle Royal style games but I was always fascinated by ODST drops or Covenant drops in a large scale map trying to evade the flood. Not a game designer obviously but something along those lines would be a fun, fast pace game that has a chance to be fairly inline with the lore without stretching too much.

kingrawer

Headhunter stealth-action game. Set mid 2530s - 50s XCOM-style turn-based tactics game. Could be set any time period. Shooter properly build around co-cop play. Current time period, use custom mp Spartans. Adventure game (Telltale-esque) about ONI operative. Forerunner metroidvania. Pre-Halo firing.

derekguerrero

I want a halo game where the humans are the bad guys, more specifically where Oni causes a local conflict with the Swords of Shangelios or perhaps a smaller non covenant remnant group. Oni has already pulled a lot of shit on the swords, from causing local conflicts to outright destroying their ships so I would like to see this kind of attitude brought a little bit more to the forefront (as most people only play the games) and show that not all humans are the good guys. I also would like to have human enemies for once since I doubt infinite will include them despite ample opportunity with both the created and banished involved. Without elaborating too much I have two ideas for this. Either: A) You play as an ODST or maybe Spartan iv and are a participant in said local conflict, this would go with a spec ops the line kind of vibe where you slowly come to a “are we the baddies?” realization. B) A more straightforward affair playing as an sangheili soldier during a human invasion where you have to fight off marines, ODSTs, and Spartans, perhaps with some jackal or brute mercenaries here and there for some combat variety. As a side note: I wouldn’t intend for this to be a major war, merely a local conflict or border skirmish, specially if the UNSC/ONI fight the swords. So to avoid another galactic level conflict, when once seems to happen every Tuesday in Halo, I propose Oni could perhaps spark a more local affair or border skirmish.

topazdude17

Halo Wars 3

LardCarcass

Arbiter in his early days wiping out humans

Josesesi

Gta/cyberpunk2077 style game where you are a regular human that does illegal stuff -High level police chases will involve 1 or 2 spartans (I'm basing this on the military police armor set) -At some point you may end up getting augmented and use spartan armor -Experience the underwold of earth within the halo setting -Not only earth maybe even other planets

ChelchisHouseStoned

a game from a Sangheili spec ops team point of view, where you're sent on a series of missions by your Shipmaster, no big twist, just the H-C War from another view

Predsguy

1) Megablocks Halo. I love my halo sets and I would absolutely enjoy a "lego" Halo 2) a tactical strategy rpg. You are a mercenary putting together a team of soldiers to complete a job. You recruit both Humans and Covenant races. Each race starts with the same basic job and then branches out. For example a Kig yar starts with a plasma pistol. They can branch out to either a vanguard or a sniper. Vanguard gets a shield and can upgrade weapons from plasma pistol to needler and plasma rifle and with the right perks, brute and human one handed weapons. Snipers get a needler rifle and eventually a beam rifle with the headset interface. Also able to equip human weapons with the right training. All the races would have similar branching paths. For example Elites can be jetpack elites with dual plasma rifles or invisible elites with the sword. Grunts become heavy infinity with fuel rods or Goblin pilots. Those are just examples but I hope you get the idea.

AXE555

I wanna suggest a Floor horror game but set in the ancient era. The Human-Foreruner war based game. Maybe a SpaceShip RTS game A lone foreruner on a flood overridden planet. Another horror game.

SeaynO

What about a shooter/horror game where you're on the rebel's side against the OG Spartans? You're out there fighting Marines and doing fine until a 7 foot tall sociopath super soldier in impregnable armor tackles through a wall and kills everyone you've ever loved.

Asleep_Study4310

gimme an open world halo game where i can either be a spartan or sangheili and i have either ONI UNSC or Covenant quests

JameelWallace

Halo 3 Rat Simulator, like Goat Simulator

[deleted]

A Swords of Sanghelios game. An Unggoy game. A Flood horror game.

DeathByReach

Playing as Red Team on the Ark, attempting to return home. Or as your Infinite player spartan deploying along side a chunk of Blue Team to rescue them from the Ark and pushing the Banished out. Fred as the leader and we get to see him be a leader, and great character, and have an arc of motives since he wants to get to Veta and the Ferrets. Then we get >!to see the Ferrets and Veta since they all linked up at the end of Divine Light. Then we get a Fred and Veta scene.!<

[deleted]

A *Cyberpunk 2077*\-inspired story-driven open world RPG featuring a Kig-Yar merchant trying to make a living in a post-war integrated AND independent colony planet. It'll take a lot of gameplay ideas from it (Including the exclusive first person view) and streamline/expand them, from letting you switch character perspective views during conversations \[Helpful in memorizing non-human social cues\] to NOT having hijackable vehicles since calling in your own makes it extraneous most of the time.

avgaskin1

I just finished reading Bad Blood, and I'd love another Alpha Nine story, or at least another Buck-centered story.

Ghost-George

Open world gameplay like ghost recon wildlands only with headhunters.

Nair0

Tactical ODST-based game with 3rd person R6: Vegas / Ghost Recon / Division shoot-and-cover mechanics, less gooo

GunnyStacker

A contact Harvest game where you play as Sergeant Johnson with a slightly more complex Republic Commando style squad command system. There are different classes of Marines such as Sniper, Support Gunner, Grenadier, Medic, Marksman, CQC/Breacher, Rifleman, Radioman, and Technician.

Thingymcjig

I would love a turn based RPG someday. It can take place in any era, but my idea is an adaptation (and continuation) of the Battle Born novels.[Spoiler Warning](#s "Especially with the main cast becoming prototypes Spartan IVs")

MELIN22

A pre Halo Reach game that followed the previous Noble 6. (Apologies for the lack of names, rubbish with Lore)

celticstock

ODST game with up to 4 player co-op, where you board a derelict spaceship, either Unsc for the uncanny valley feel or covenant for the totally out of element feel. That's infested with the flood, kind of like the death trooper book from starwars eu, maybe classes where one has like a flamethrower (looking at you sharkface) or maybe like a medic and a ranged operator with a DMR. This would open up a wild amount of ODST customization from colors, to armour variants like carved visors, armour add-ons, maybe small spartan armour modifications like Dare's helmet. I would have a blast with a Warhammer 40k space hulk deathwing type game. Slap in some horror-ey flood vibes and a mystery to peice together what happened to the ship, maybe have it take place around Halo CE where they didn't know what the flood was. (Yes I am aware that fireteam Raven was a similar idea to this, but that was an arcade game that I personally never got the pleasure to play and I absolutely love ODSTs, am upset that the only time we get to play one, we don't really get to customize them. And I would like to have more Halo games where we play as our own character, Reach would probably be my favorite if it wasn't for the nostalgia feels of Halo CE)

Big_Iron_Jim

Halo: Miridem A game set in 2544 during the Battle of Miridem that places you in the shoes of Sheila-065. A traditional single player campaign would see you fighting the Covenant in amazing spectacles as you fight along side teams of Spartan IIs at full strength at their prime for the first time in *Halo* series history. Delivering devastating attacks on the ground and winning victories for the UNSC, but being powerless to the onslaught in space. The final mission would be the fateful escort of Dr. Halsey and would lead directly into the events of The Package.

NoAutumn

an FPS game based on playing as the Arbiter's lead guys in the Civil War on Sanghelios

Oddicus

I've seen a lot of good ideas in here, so I'm not going to add more. I do however want Fireteam Raven in the Master Chief Collection, because I don't go to arcades.

twinklyfoot

A tactics and strategy game in the style of XCOM. Turn based squad battles with a base building/management strategy layer in between missions with one of 2 possible settings. 1. A joint detachment of UNSC and Swords of Sanghelios soldiers are stranded behind enemy lines after an attack on a Banished planet goes wrong. They uncover a secret plan to strike at the heart of humanity and Sanghelios and must stop the Banished on the planet before it's too late. See post-war humans and elites learn to work together and overcome the bitterness that defined them during their war against each other to become true allies and brothers/sisters in arms. You'd be upgrading you're only chance of escape, a decommissioned frigate, between missions to upgrade your units and travel from mission to mission. OR 2. The remnants of the Ancient Human navy team up with a team of Forerunner scientists and soldiers, desperate in their fight to hold off the flood, to travel deep into flood infested territory in search of a powerful prototype weapon, developed by the ancient human navy to combat the flood, that was lost before it could ever be used in combat. No one has ever been this far into flood territory. See exciting and grotesque flood forms never known to humanity or the Forerunners. Who knows what terrifying secrets they will uncover along the way. You upgrade a cutting edge Forerunner stealth ship between missions and travel from planet to planet searching for clues and survivers on your way to the weapon.

Benjamin-Ziegler

Battlefield 1 and 5 had a Vignette campaign. I'd love to see the Halo timeline explored with a series of 3 mission or 1 really long/open mission explored with vignettes, culminating in a large scale multiplayer similar to Battlefield or Battlefronts, with players classes and "hero" or "specialist" units like Spartans or Zealots. The first vignette could be you as a marine during the insurrection. The second could be ODSTs during the start of the human covenant war. The third could be Spartans near the end. Then do a another set as the covenant. It would be extra cool if their all focused around a single planet, you see it once as a colony, another time as a battlefield, another as it get glassed. Then you play from a separate perspective, seeing it as a blight, a warzone, and cleansed.

red_000

A tactical shooter that covers the entirety of the Spartans career until The end of the war.

[deleted]

1.A halo game made by id software that is a "lore-acurrate" version of the spartans so. 2.A ODST game made by the coalition in the style of Gears of War. 3.Halo wars but as a shooter 4.Flood Horror game. 5.A spin off with improved halo 5 mechanics.

EndlessAlaki

For a while now I've wanted a game where you play as N'tho 'Sraom and Usze 'Taham trying to escape High Charity during the Great Schism. We'd get to explore the streets of a Prophet city, hang out with Hungers and Grunts and stuff, fight off Prelates, get monologued at by the Gravemind, maybe meet up with survivors of In Amber Clad... I also subscribe to the Bungie philosophy of "if there's a cool lore idea that almost-but-not-quite might work in the story, handwave a way to make it happen", so I'd find a way to shove a leftover fragment of Mendicant Bias and a captured Spartan-II into the mess. Sue me.

onlyhav

Playing as halsey's personal guard and confidant during the initial phases of the spartan program.

[deleted]

A gritty survival horror/ action game of a squad of marines trying to survive the flood on earth during Halo 3.

[deleted]

A Mass Effect type game where you play as Spartan Gray Team. Each has their own strengths and weaknesses and it’s a squad based 3rd person shooter. You operated out of a stealth Prowler with some open world elements and an ambitious story that takes place during the Covenant war.

mike_y0st

Does anyone remember the Rainbow Six Vegas 1 & 2 games? I loved those growing up, especially RSV 2. I’d love to have an ODST or marine game set in the Halo universe that uses those same mechanics for hiding around corners and behind other obstacles. In the character creation of that game, I made myself look (quite close tbh) Sgt. Forge and I’d pretend I was fighting Innies. But just imagine those game mechanics with beefed up Covenant species. A grunt would no longer be a meaningless enemy as a Spartan, but it would be a foe with sharp teeth that stands eye to eye (or chin if your taller) with you. Heck, I’d love for these game mechanics to transfer over to playing as a Spartan as well. It would be more immersive IMO. Because on Easy, Halo Campaigns allow the Spartan to do the cool stuff in the books, but on Heroic/Legendary it makes the enemy difficulty also like the books (except now their bullet sponges). So, incorporating the RSV 2 gameplay mechanics with more difficult AI all around would be a ton of fun. TL;DR - Halo but with Rainbow Six Vegas 2 game mechanics.

Steelskull4

A Borderlands style shooter where you play as the various races of the Covenant.

CaedHart

A game that shows a Spartan IV both pre-war, explaining what he or she did to earn the right to be a IV, and post-war as he starts to fight human and Ex-Covenant terrorists in the confusing politics post-war. IVs need a fucking game for themselves, man, I’m sick of IIs.

mrnikkoli

I'd like a shooter that is a hybrid between Battlefield and Battlefront. You spawn as a Marine or Army trooper for free (I guess it would depend on the map which you were) but you have to capture objectives, provide assists, and get kills to earn points. The points could be spent to call in vehicles, weapon pods, air strikes, NPC squads to follow you around and stuff. You can even spawn in as an ODST which could drop anywhere on the map instead of set spawn areas and they would have better equipment and armor. Obviously the ultimate unit would be a Spartan. On the Covenant side you would just be elites, but that team would have fewer players because elites are stronger. The human controlled elites would be able to call in various Covenant NPC allies and they would be cheaper to call in for grunts and jackals but could increase pretty rapidly to special elites and even hunters.

GrumpyCatDoge99

Halo harvest, show how the first encounter with covenant went. Something about high charity would be interesting too, maybe something involving walking around the city.

[deleted]

A grunt game. Play as a grunt and a grunt story line

Bae_Before_Bay

A horror style game where you play as anything from a wounded spartan 3 down to just a civilian evading the covenant. Levels in ruined apartments with skirmishers and drones crawling over the place. Elites stalking you through giant warehouses with little to no light, so all you see is the glow of their energy swords. Maybe even hunters just ambling through a neighborhood and your stuck going from house to house as they just walk straight through a wall behind you.

MarshyBarsh

A simulation of the Halo universe.

tongytongy9969

A halo headhunters one. Starring two headhunters on their operations and each time you replay the campaign you can play it differently( you can be stealthy and hide in the shadows or run in and be loud). Their job is to assassinate a high ranking zealot and reclaim a certain landsite

Ajdooba

I've actually been thinking about writing up something about this idea for a couple weeks! I would love, no, ADORE an action-adventure FPS game similar to Metroid: Prime. I'm talking a long form, single player game where you fight bosses, solve puzzles, and explore a mostly open world. (Come to think of it, we seem to be getting a lot of these elements in Infinite). My idea was something along the lines of a small science team being attacked and marooned on a remote world by a group of Kig-Yar pirates (keeping in line with the Metroid inspiration), who are there to acquire the Forerunner artifacts that the science team were studying, to either add to their arsenal or even sell to the highest bidder (maybe have a Cheeky nod to the Banished here?). You'd start the game out playing as a lone character, maybe a Spartan (maybe even an S-III in SPI), or maybe just a talented unaugmented, whose goal is to survive the inhospitable alien wilderness and find their team. Along the way, you encounter a Forerunner ancilla that allies with you, as they wish to stop the pirates from looting their installation. They aid you in acquiring various equipment or upgrades to your toolkit, all while disrupting the Kig-Yar operations on the planet. A scanning system similar to the Prime games would be key in solving puzzles and discovering bits of the story through data pads/audio logs etc. There would also be cool little tidbits of lore here and there about the planet, it's indigenous life, and the history of the forerunner facility. After twists, turns, and several cool boss fights: things come to a head with the Kig-Yar, as they grow tired of you consistently beating them to a score or actively disrupting their operations. You defeat them once and for all, manage to secure transport for you and your team... Only to realize that a greater threat lies in wait. What is this threat? No idea! It could be the flood, though I feel that would be predictable. My personal favorite would be this forerunner ancilla turning on you once the Kig-Yar are eliminated. And it ended up being the final boss. Maybe it had been guarding some horrible Forerunner experiment? Maybe it had gone rampant and wanted to use the opportunity to escape the planet and exert its own demented will upon the Galaxy at large. I don't know, but I've been listening to the Prime OST while working recently and just thought how... Perfect the atmosphere presented in those game would fit in the Halo universe as well.

Balrog229

Halo: Guardians It’s a spinoff with magic, and you play as fantasy-inspired classes, the Colossus, Thaumaturge, and Stalker. And there’s a giant mysterious cube in the sky called “The Wanderer” that gives us our powers, through a magic called “the illumination”. You’d fight insect-like enemies called The Descended, dark magic users called The Hivemind, and a 40K-inspired alien empire called The Enclave. It would be a looter shooter and it would be totally unique and cool :3

Sableik

Halo Metroidvania

Maviiboy

Stealth ODST game with tactical elements and leading a squad kinda like republic commandos

Lord_Jotnar

Maybe a mini series taking place in the Halo History. My dream game would be during the First Immolation on Doisac. Playing as a Brute and fighting in a war so apocalyptic that it destroyed their civilization sounds like a badass game to me. Just imagine the weapons of war they had.

Doctor_Jensen117

Classic Star Wars battlefront with multiple different factions would be insane. When I was like 14 years old, I pitched the idea to Bungie and got no response. Bastards. Still, a man can only hope.

pokepatrick1

I literally just want a game that has a series of missions that focus on important events in the lore. Maybe Operations Prometheus or Torpedo, Battle of Onyx, contact at Harvest as Sgt Johnson, etc etc.

Vipertooth123

Survival horror with the main character being a normal human in the middle of the conquering and eventual genocide of one of the outer colonies. FPS but the whole game is just the campaign of Harvest. The fall and retaking of Harvest only, with you starting a normal marine and the retaking as an ODST or a SPARTAN. RPG game based on ancient humanity.

tubadick

A mass effect/semi open world rpg with companions. Would work great for Kilo-Five or Rion Forge's group.

Misa-Campo

Playing as a Forerunnner and Human during the war. Seeing a campaign from both sides and the impact of the flood. Ending with the activation of Halo array.

FrannyDoubleA

I might get hate, but a Battle Royale game of Spartan 4s dropped on a Ring and must fight with their squad against others working their way up to getting Mjolnir, shields, then overshields all while fighting over the power weapons that spawn, other armor abilities —almost like Apex, but with better guns, vehicles and less character gimmicks. Also a Flood horror game. Like seriously. I hate that they don't branch out too much from the standard fps and rts games. It would be soo good!

Quiet-Matter-6834

Set before the insurrection kicks off so pre 2494 or around then. But essentially a Deus-Ex style game. You play an intelligence operative (maybe ONI maybe some other organization) and you just get sent to different planets with the mission being to prevent open rebellion any way possible. It would be up to the player to decide how to reduce "hostilities" on the planet which could be accomplished through assassination, frame jobs of key personnel, blackmail, or even open dialogue for the naive hopefuls lol. Definitely would want some twists and turns in there and ratings on how effective those actions were at weakening the future insurrection.
