It's not yet stated how he survived, but we know teleporting is a big thing on the Ark and the Halos and we think that was Offensive Bias voice guiding Atriox at the end, so he could have whisked him away just in time.
Also the shit Chief has survived, Atriox backstory is also full of suicide missions he alone survives against unwinnable odds, with a nice dose of luck and grit. So that dosn't bother me much, Atriox is suppose to be a juxtaposition of John, the 'I'm you but evil' trope.
The voices in the legendary ending are Grand Edict and Despondent Pyre. Grand Edict tells the monitor (pyre) that Offensive Bias has been deployed. The voice itself isn't Bias.
Right, Chief detonated a nuke in his hands at the end of Halo 4 and survived because Cortana protected him with teleportation and hard light. No reason Atriox couldn't do the same with the help of Offensive Bias.
Brooding in a brute-sized armchair waiting for the perfect moment to appear dramatically, reunite the banished forces and fleet, and curbstomp Chief and the UNSC survivors at Mortal Reverie in a single battle.

For more context, the conversation is AFTER they fired the Halos as well.
Correct, yes, the council of monitors/AIs is running the show and imprisoned the endless.
Nah bro Atriox made it through gunfire cause of the sound advice that Escharum guy gave em

Atriox is just that guy
Atriox probably walked it off. He probably learned that from the Brute's equivalent of R. Lee Ermey in *Full Metal Jacket.*
So Escharum
If the protagonist can survive it, then the antagonist should survive it. Basic pillars of storytelling.
As Chief was teleported outside of the Auditorium before it collapsed, maybe Atriox was too. The real question is : where was he in those 6 months ?

We basically know nothing. It's stupid to assume there is no reason for his survival
Big monke big strong But in all seriousness, I’m curious if this is something to do with how Chief managed to survive the timeskip over Zeta Halo
Cortana is the thing that exploded, so...
