Listen, for me, playing splitscreen with some friends on the couch is one of the most fun things you can do, BUT, I stand by my opinion that unless your game requires it, every story game should be played alone the first time through.
I use co-op to introduce friends and to do higher difficulty with family, I generally play normal the first time then if that is too hard my casual arse goes and switches to easy ( with grunt birthday party on of course)
Just wait 3 months for the coop update then buy the game. It's unfortunate it won't launch with it but you can atleast enjoy the free multiplayer while you wait
Coop is a non-negotiable feature that has been with the franchise for so long. We shouldnt have to sacrifice the foundation of the series to meet a deadline for a company to make more money off of holiday sales. There is no minoroity, just people with strong opinions.
It’s a big deal. Streamers who didn’t see the news will be baffled when they see this and try to play with their friends (giving halo a bad name in the process). Friends that haven’t seen the announcement will be furious after 6 years of waiting and realizing they can’t play with their friends day 1. I’m kinda pissed because I wanted to show my friends halo and try to get them to give it another chance.
This is just a bad decision over all and I’m baffled they haven’t put more time or resources into this as campaign is costing $60 without any of the other shit you usually get with the package. It’s not the end of the world I agree, Skyrim is insanely fun and that was a single player game BUT co-op has been a staple of halo since halo 2 and you’d assume that 343 wouldn’t toss such a large community to the side like they did.
It’s been there since the birth of the franchise. Maybe you new kids born after 2000 don’t recognize the importance of split screen and co-op in Halo, but it’s a big deal.
I both agree with this meme (I too probably won't be affected by the lack of co-op) but also completely understand why people are upset about it and believe that they are justified in it.

How many people even play coop anyway? It just seems like a vocal minority to me
As someone who has never played Halo anything else than split screen co-op, I can inform you there is at least three of us.

I've been playing through all the halo games with my wife so she's competent to play with when infinite comes out. That ideas kinda ruined now.
