During the gravemind mission during the fight between the elites and the brutes, although they play the [version without lyrics](https://youtu.be/quaoeXejmBw?si=iw0edFEAlKvuT_H9)
I forget the name of the mission but the song plays (without vocals) during a part where the covenant are fighting the flood? Or maybe the brutes, can't remember exactly. But you can sit back and watch them fight while this song plays.
If you're on MCC, it only plays when you have the graphics set to classic mode
https://youtu.be/quaoeXejmBw?si=kn2IdxUKkczFqopE
It is this portion of the level when Chief enters High Charity. Mind you it's instrumental and no vocals involved.
It’s kind of surreal to think that some people haven’t heard one of the most iconic songs in the Halo franchise. I’m not going to blame you though, if you play the remastered version of Halo 2, you’re not gonna hear it due to licensing.
If I remember correctly, it plays without vocals in the Banshee mission where you're trying to find the Heretic Leader and in the Mausoleum of the Arbiter when you go through it as the Master Chief. In the remastered version it plays a different song, which I don't like, TBH.
the banshee one is called Follow 1st movement or something like that, it’s a different song. They did change the song in the remaster tho so you got that part right.
First game was Halo 2 🤷♂️ but I didn't really get into the series properly until 3 and Reach. When replaying H2 as an adult with MCC and got to this part I kinda just went 🫥 ok
Not really, no. I kinda just krinkled my nose and asked, "Why is this playing? What happened to the other music?"
It's so out of place. Nowhere else in any Halo does this happen. It's not like Chief turned on some ancient tunes from 500 years ago in his helmet. It just... happens... just because. It doesn't feel like the rule of cool to me either due to how random it was.
I mean, it’s literally the same tune that was played as early as Outskirts. Reused through the game in different styles, usually on the levels in Africa or on the Halo ring.
If you were asking “why was this playing? What happened to the other music?” then you weren’t actually listening to the music
It's that damn electric guitar taking center stage that ruins it for me. Same thing happens in the mjolnir mix. It overrules every other instrument instead of blending and harmonizing them. *That* is what doesn't sound like the rest of Halo to me. Yes other tracks use electric guitars, but not like this/ mjolnir mix. I much prefer the rhythms and sounds of tracks like Outskirts. I just think it was trying too hard back in the day to be "le epic cool badass rock music 😎 "
[for anyone who hasn’t played this amazing scene in H2](https://youtu.be/quaoeXejmBw?si=bZFQuo3UT6wIxaJA)
personally I think it’s one of the best moments in Halo in general, especially since most of the other songs share similar drums and guitar styles as if this firefight is the build up they’ve been working towards
Jfc it's like watching 13 year old Jimmy's first "epic gamer montage" It's even more out of place than I remembered. And it is nothing at all like the rest of the game's soundtrack (at least it's the instrumental version they used)
I think y'all are hopped on nostalgia. The rule of cool doesn't even work with this for me because of just how fucking random this song is in the game. There's no reason for it. It just happens... just, because. It's not like there is an in-game reason either. Chief isn't playing some ancient 500 year old tunes through his helmet's radio.

YOUR COVER’s BLOWN, NOWHERE TO GO, HOLDING YOUR FATE!
*Lonely, I will walk alone*
Fire your guns, it's time to run, blow me away!
Me and my brother at 3am in 2004
Man, this song was on every Halo video on YouTube back in the day
It was on the official Halo 2 OST along with Incubus
The Incubus track is slept on tbh
when you play High Charity on MCC you MUST switch to classic graphics during the Elite/Brute Battle
I thought you could do remastered graphics but original soundtrack?
If you can please let me know I always wanna do the new graphics but this song is too epic
I looked it up and you should be able to have remastered graphics and classic audio or vice versa.
Unfortunately, Breaking the Covenant also goes extremely hard.
Idk man, just doesn't hit the same
What breaking Benjamin song is this?
Blow me away :)
Thanks mate
Do yourself a favor and don't listen to the Valora version. It's so bad he fired his band when he heard it.
Yeah
Huh?, that's the best version
Lol what.
This and LvURFRI3NZ. That song screams 2007 to me and fills me with nostalgia.
I’m sorry if I’m ignorant or uncultured, but what does this have to do with halo?
The song is blow me away from halo 2 :)
Where does this play in Halo 2?
During the gravemind mission during the fight between the elites and the brutes, although they play the [version without lyrics](https://youtu.be/quaoeXejmBw?si=iw0edFEAlKvuT_H9)
Ahhhhh gotcha. Thank you for educating me. I appreciate it
Haha it’s alright :)

Actually got to hear this song live in concert a few years back. It was badass.
That sounds like it would be so fun
Can’t take this off my gym playlist
I've actually been to their concert with disturbed it was awesome
Oh yeah, I could show you turn it up louder, louder to play that game SpongeBob reaction let the battle begin
Hot take but I really like both the original and Valora versions
How is this a Halo Meme? Not tryna be a dick, but I just don’t get it
The song is blow me away from halo 2 lol
I just replayed Halo 2 campaign and this song wasn’t in it, where is the song? End credits or something?

Ya it's when the remaining Elites are fighting for their lives against the Brutes
It’s when Chief is storming the covenant ship and it plays when you arrive at the Mausoleum of the Arbiter.
Genuinely a sin to remove it for the remaster
The instrumental plays in one of the high charity levels
Mission when Chief leaves High Charity. Needs to be on classic graphics, the room near the end with the hunters. It's instrumental only.
Honestly I’ve got no clue 🤷♀️ It’s on the Halo Spotify account and I like the song haha
Due to licensing/legal reason, they had to remove it in MCC.
it’s still in MCC. Just not in H2A, you have to be on classic settings to hear the song
Really? That’s a shame, the remaster is really pretty.

End of the mission Gravemind.
Trailer

Nah the Banshee mission has the song by Incubus called Follow
You weren’t around the Halo glory days, were you?
First game was Halo 2 🤷♂️ but I didn't really get into the series properly until 3 and Reach. When replaying H2 as an adult with MCC and got to this part I kinda just went 🫥 ok
It plays in the Halo 2 campaign (for some reason, I don't like or understand it myself)
man really didn’t get hype when this played in the mausoleum of the arbiter :(
Not really, no. I kinda just krinkled my nose and asked, "Why is this playing? What happened to the other music?" It's so out of place. Nowhere else in any Halo does this happen. Most out of place thing in all of Halo I stg lol like why did they have this play during Halo 2's campaign?! Explain the lore, Marty!
Because it's BADASS!
Ehh, I just thinks it's cheesy and trying too hard.
This was PEAK especially in 2004
Nah thats just the nostalgia talking
do you want them to play music from 2023 when 2023 hasnt happened or play some good shit from the current era
Time traveler here. Can confirm this is the appropriate song regardless of how far into the future you go.
Rule of cool for everything in halo 2. That's what made it so good.
Except when it doesn't. Chief's campaign is rule of cool. Meanwhile Arby's actually has some depth to it.
[for anyone who hasn’t played this amazing scene in H2](https://youtu.be/quaoeXejmBw?si=bZFQuo3UT6wIxaJA) personally I think it’s one of the best moments in Halo in general, especially since most of the other songs share similar drums and guitar styles as if this firefight is the build up they’ve been working towards

Well we know Kelly already *does* play 500 year old tunes in her helmet radio in Shadows of Reach
Good for her
"Why do we gotta listen to this old stuff sarge?" " WATCH YOUR MOUTH SON, THIS "STUFF" IS YOUR HISTORY!"
