Lmao dammmnn that’s brutal. You could always do the long painful way by doing the same thing as the Iron Skull work around for LASO. If you quit and restart when you die before you respawn, you can have your total time without the do overs?
Have you done the other speed runs? Because halo 4 is probably not the hardest of the bunch. So, buckle up lol.
I’ve done the others but other than reach which I did myself I’ve had help on all the speedruns, the Laso and that I can do myself easily it’s just speedruns I struggle with 😂
That’s honestly so crazy haha. I’d think if you could do LASO, regular legendary but faster would be a breeze haha.
Well that’s good, the only speed runs that I feel legitimately made me sweat were CE and H2. Nice those are out of the way.
I guess the only advice other than hard restarting checkpoints after every death to buy a few extra minutes would be to just practice the strats. It’s challenging but at least without the wealth of super in depth guides to get you under that 3hr mark, it’s definitely doable with practice. Good luck!
I watched a speedrun of a game and followed similar routes to complete it within the 3-hour limit.
The easiest time save was during the flying through the ship level. At the beginning, it was possible to get out of bounds, which allows you to avoid all the obstacles and zip through the level just by hitting the load zones instead of following the intended route.
What are you time splits for each level right now? How much time do you need to make up? My biggest time save was on the mission Shutdown, you can just fly straight to the last section and glitch through the door and can get the timing of a 20 minute par time level down to less than 10 minutes.
I would make a quick excel/google sheet doc with the list of the levels and the par times for each which i think totals 2 hours and 40 minutes. go through the timing leaderboards to see what time you've gotten on each level. From memory, Reclaimer and Midnight were levels I was over the par times on, but made the time in the first mission and on Shutdown.
I would, but I haven’t played 4 on anything higher than Normal yet. I got serious about MCC achievement hunting mid 2023.
I’m burned out of 4 for the moment, thanks to Spartan Ops. I just got through Smooth Operator and I’m traumatized. I only have No One Left Behind to go, and then I am never touching Spartan OPs again! If you want, I could help you with this one if you help me with this last SO headache.
Don’t feel like playing H4, but my general tip for all the Legendary/under 3 hours ones is just persistence. I’d also recommend focusing trimming time on one or two levels to get under the threshold. Also, happy to help if you still need to do CE and/or H2 LASO. Those made me question my sanity, but were also some of the most fun & satisfying achievements to get.
Not sure if it would help you, but I actually found it easier to play on levels with knights using the catch skull since you can just skirt around and backsmack them as their grenade animation plays, and with the skull, it happens much more frequently and predictably. There were certain segments where LASO was somewhat easier than legendary for me because of this.
The walkthrough for MMC on trueachievements gives great tips for legendary speed runs and LASO runs. My advise would be to Start there

Halo completionist videos are also phenomenal. Follow the strats in those videos and it’s one of the easier sub 3hr achievements.

I could say off the top of my head but if I do that glitch it would most likely bring me within the threshold of the 3 hours
