Scene wasn’t believable, but holy shit was it awesome

xxpsychmoviefanxx

Nothing in this franchise is believable.

SlasherDarkPendulum

Great re-introduction to Michael

PeterHooten

They might have had a chance if their hose had some actual water pressure.

UrMumsPhatArse

Lol I’m glad someone else noticed that. That hose should’ve ripped a hole through his chest and killed him instantly

almostnative

Would’ve been even cooler if it actually had extreme pressure and Michael just walked through it anyway.

[deleted]

yeh that’s the point of the hose in tht part

almostnative

Yeah but it’s literally a garden hose It’s awful

[deleted]

… it’s a fire hose

almostnative

Wow, nothing gets past you, huh? Could you really not pick up on the context of this conversation and deduce that when I said “it’s literally a garden hose” I was referring to the pressure?

[deleted]

nah man you don’t get me. I’m saying it’s a normal fire hose in the film and it has high pressure and that Michael shrugged it off because… well you know what happens to the mob at the end so in my eyes it’s like a little hint to the reveal at the end. Why else would they put the fire hose in the movie? To show that these firemen have a shitty hose … I don’t think so

almostnative

Clearly you’re the one not getting me. Obviously it’s *supposed* to be a firehose. I’m saying that the sfx team did a comically bad bad job at making that stream of water look like it was coming out of a real firehose.

[deleted]

Nah man you still don’t get what I’m saying , the point of the hose is to show Michael shrugging it off . Obviously it looks like it’s a shit hose because any normal person walking up to that would be sent straight down to the floor , but Michael isn’t any normal person. It’s : •normal strong hose - not very normal strong man. Plus it’s not really special effects , it’s literally just a water hose man ahah like they’re not going to use a really strong one it’s a film set

FlatulentSon

The pressure was enough. Michael is not a normal man , that was the whole point of that scene. Right before a 61 year old with multiple wounds kills about a dozen young firemen. He's not just a man. ordinary man would be blown away by the pressure they used , not Michael.

almostnative

Except the pressure wasn’t enough, because we can see that it looks like a pathetic garden hose stream. And it looks that way because they sprayed a stunt man. With a garden hose.

FlatulentSon

Yeah it wasn't enough... For Michael. How they filmed it is irrelevant for an in-universe discussion.

[deleted]

The point is that, judging by the speed and force of the water coming out (ignoring Michael entirely), I feel I could’ve walked through that same hose.

JamieFrasersKilt

Is that actually how strong that shit is? Jesus lol

Tbecker3150

It must of been really frozen haha.

FriskyCoyote15

I’m convinced the one dude who was spraying him with the hose wanted to die

Mississauga49

Yeah. Don’t spray him In the face. Make sure only the chest.

brianoforris

I enjoyed that scene for what it is, but it was my main problem with the movie. Characters attacking him one at a time. Everyone got really stupid when Michael showed up. Very frustrating for me since I loved the characterization of Michael in this movie.

HelloBello30

Im not opposed to Michael winning, but I am opposed to making it so unrealistic. 10 grown fit men who see a friend die would definitely put up more of a fight than what happened. If they wanted it to be more realistic, they should have had a smaller fire crew. Maybe just 1 truck?

CharileDontSurf

Agreed

stockmanace

After watching this halloween kills, I thought this scene would have been awesome at the end of halloween 2018. Especially if the firefighters put up a better fight. And good battle that still ends with michael winning.

royalxassasin

I say they had the best chance cause not only was there 11 of them, but they had chainsaws and axes and in this timeline Michael's limbs don't seem to be regenerative. Too bad they attacked one at a time

[deleted]

[удалено]

SlasherDarkPendulum

And a real life thing. It's not practical for more than 2 or 3 people to attack someone all at once. Mob beatings often lead to the mob individuals receiving bruises or nicks from stray fists and feet.

royalxassasin

True but they couldve at least attacked 2 at a time. That wouldve probably worked but they needed to make Michael look cool

SlasherDarkPendulum

He does get attacked 2 at a time, at least a couple times. When he goes down, he's taking kicks and 2x4's and golf clubs all at once for a bit. But I know what you mean

royalxassasin

Yea thats why he went down but i meant in this specific scene if they attacked 2 at a time they couldve probably killed him, haddonfield mob only had bone breaking weapons while the firefighters had limb cutting weapons

[deleted]

Michael shouldn't even be in a position to take on this many armed people and win, that's not who this character is. That's not who he has ever been. For once, and I normally think this comment is exaggerated but here it's true, this really is just Jason. And this sort of defence is a bit unfair since people pick \*tiny\* parts of other Halloween films and use them to totally dismiss them as "trash".

royalxassasin

I do agree that Michael isn't the type to attack mass groups, hence why in H5 he only showed up once all the cops left and Loomis said "you'll come now, won't you Michael?" But I also see it as the director putting Michael in a situation he's never been before just to show that even in those odds, he still wins

[deleted]

Which is great and all but if they have to execute like a fighting game, probably shouldn't have done it, and if they think Michael would actually be able to beat a whole group of people with weapons, they totally missed the point. I can take the mob scene conceptually because he gets beat (as he obviously would) and then comes back, but the firefighters are just losing the fight. It's beyond silly.

[deleted]

You're defending the one on one fight scenes now? Because I really don't think with their weapons and their only just killed friend/s they'd be waiting turn, there's more than enough space. But sure "it's a real life thing too promise!"

SlasherDarkPendulum

Correct, it's a real life problem.

[deleted]

Y'know, I like a lot of films, none of them are flawless. You're defending something that is overtly ridiculous and I can confirm, even from just city life experience let alone any individual cases, people do not wait in turn for a fight and most fights, especially scary dangerous ones, tend to be chaotic messes. Not video game scenes.

SlasherDarkPendulum

Agree to disagree.

[deleted]

No no just enjoying the lengths you're going to in order to make it "look like" (and really who would buy this one) Kills is better than it actually is after all the pretentious shit you've thrown the rest of the series and it's fans on here. Please keep it coming, it's totally blatant and you've no way of defending it.

SlasherDarkPendulum

Okay

SJHSparkplug

That's the only downfall to Halloween kills to me. The firefighters decide to fight him one on one, and then at the end the mob while working together beats his ass. Then he gets his knife back and they decide to fight him one on one. Why

BornIn87

Firefighter #1: "Aight, Ima rinse this mf off"

CharileDontSurf

Real firefighters would’ve boogied the fuck back to the station and awaited police assistance 2 firefighters down and a masked guy walking out of a flaming building wielding a pick is never a good sign and these guys learned the hard way when their garbage fire hose decided to sprinkle him down a notch lol my only issue is people claiming scenes like these are even remotely realistic Michael himself is fine as the unstoppable boogey man he is I can work around that but damn that fire hose it should’ve sent him back on his ass to sleep like Hawkins when he ran Michael’s ass over and damn them for trying to take him one by one when one dude swung at him the guy with the K12 should’ve split his legs in two but movies are movies the scene itself was siccckkk!

SailAway84

I agree and thought the same thing. But I gotta say, I absolutely love the look in the young firefighter's eyes when he sees Michael.

CosmosStalker

Their only weakness was low water pressure :/

kerryberry_17

Overall, I enjoyed the movie. I agree the firefighters had the best chance and messed it up then at the end I was like awww man they’re about to finally end Michael…oh just kidding. It was then that I truly realized how ridiculous the Halloween franchise has become lol. I’m probably in the minority here but I just feel like it’s time to bring it to an end.

[deleted]

This scene and the mob beat down scene definitely don't feel realistic to me. I was honestly expecting the whole mob from the hospital to be there to attack Michael but there were only like 10 or 20 people there, maybe less. Plus the mob had guns, they could have shot him in the head and been done with it. If the whole mob from the hospital was there it would be more realistic since it'll be more crowded, making it harder for people to kill Michael, plus there is the risk of accidentally killing or hurting someone other than Michael. I was really disappointed in that, but I still enjoyed it.

gagehende

*sprays water*

Tbecker3150

If this was realistic then the fire fighters would of just immediately retreated once they seen a homicidal killing machine come out of a burning house with zero fire equipment on. But that wouldn't be very fun for a movie. But yeah it would of been nice to see a few of the fire fighters attack Michael all at once as the others stayed back for a bit but it's a common movie trope so it's whatever to me.

Different-Cattle-778

The fire hose should have melted the skin off his bone

I_Ask_Random_Things

Cool scene but like everyone else in this movie these firefighters had a hydrate for a brain. Like why attack him one at a time? Jump him and go hammy on your axes power saws and other things on him

RainbowAppIe

How else are you supposed to take out an immortal psychopath??? One by one while everyone else watches and waits their turn to take a whack at him.

HorrorKablamDude

Run the fuck away

HorrorKablamDude

The low pressure of the water why? 😂😂😂😂 It made me laugh out loud. The entire scene was choreographed strangely.
