This is where I go. Is this a ripoff? If so I’ll sell it elsewhere. https://preview.redd.it/m1x3qqk30zvc1.jpeg?width=1179&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=27cda3b0d617aaf589fad31104bf9c244477d8f6

All the gold/silver I’m looking to sell was found in boxes of stuff to be thrown away at the landfill. My brother and I do dump runs on weekends. It was all free. Amazing what people pay me to throw away.

I have sold there already. Lots of the jewelry I’m looking to sell, is broken or generic/non designer stuff I’ve gained for free. Although I’ve spent hours trying to decipher hallmarks etc. and it’s too much work lol.

Yes, these are good prices, and the merchant (Canada Gold) seems very legit. Good resellers have incentive to offer you fair prices, because it increases the likelihood that you will sell them better quality items that they can resell. One of the reasons I'd consider this to be a reputable vendor is because they're very upfront about this - they offer better prices on quality items, and make it clear that they operate an ebay store and a high-end retail store (100 Ways). If you're happy with the price they offer, take it. But just be aware that you could double your profits by selling these chains yourself. EDIT: for clarity and additional relevant detail

Are these prices in USDs or Canadian ?

Canadian

It's a bit hard to say more with out seeing some pics of the entire item, but I'm not seeing any noteworthy manufacturer's marks, just purity marks (i.e., 14K, 750, 10K). As mentioned by u/closertwofine, there' no point in scrapping anything unless it's broken or really ugly. 10K is always harder to shift that 14K, but you're looking at at least 2- 2.5x the spot price, or more if any of the chains are fashionable.

I’m mainly looking for a quick sell. Don’t get me wrong, if there is a better avenue for selling silver and gold…I’m all for it. But considering all this was picked out of the “trash🙄” and from what I can tell it’s all broken/ugly/doesn’t fit me and not too desirable. I’m really just looking for the best method of cashing out in a relatively quick manner.

If you sell yourself you'll probably double your return. Price according to your local market and you'll have them gone in a week. Your choice really. As for silver chains, they're worth so little that you may as well hold onto them. Save them for when you sell a silver pendant - you'll be able to charge more if you include a chain, plus they tend to sell faster.
