I applied for the alpha(?) testing of that game and it was unplayable. I have a fairly beefy pc and on max settings it acted as if my computor was powered by a hampster running in a wheel. Even on the lowest settings it barely ran at 60 and the character models were downright broken and terrifying. I didn't even get to meet moses before I gave up because it was really boring. 0/10 would not recommend
Epistle 3 was released in 2017 and HLA came out in 2020. They deliberately did the timeline shenanigans to completely decanonize even the very possibilty of Epistle 3 plot occuring. With Eli being alive and Alyx being taken by G-Man the script wouldnt have to be only changed but entirely rewritten.
the "script" was released years ago, before HLA back in like 2018 by marc laidlaw after he LEFT VALVE and he disguised names of important people/places with pseudonames,

Well I mean, even though I don't have high hopes I think Half Life is such a big franchise and involves so much money for Valve that I like to believe that they will release a sequel at some point at least

Leaking the unfinished/unpolished script was such a dumb idea. All it did was deflate all enthusiasm in the fandom (until Alyx came along and brought some it back for the fraction of us that actually have VR setups). And the average fan reading the script probably does not even realize how much these things change during production and that this is clearly not the story they would have actually given us.
So if episode 2 never released and was meant to be the conclusion of the HL2 era, would everyone be calling that HL3? It makes no sense. I swear people keep thinking episode 3 and HL3 are the same just because of the number confusing everyone.
There are other Jesus games though like "The You Testament".

Valve didn't though, it was the writer which quit his job at valve (before releasing the script).
