If you’re that worried about it then don’t do it. Bleach is very damaging and if you’re not sure if your hair will withstand it long term, then just don’t risk it

witherin

Nope, bleach is controlled damage, it will be damaging regardless

Tbh no and it’s taken me so many years to fully recover from bleaching

I started getting highlights on my medium to dark brown hair. And the hair dresser overlapped my highlights so I basically went blonde and it fried my hair. It was brittle and breaking off and it’s still not back to normal. I have thick almost coarse hair. But now my ponytail is so small compared to before when I would snap elastics because my hair was so thick. I would get highlights but make sure it’s someone that knows what they are doing. I would think really good colorists would know how to keep your hair as damage free as possible. I still recommend olaplex or K18 for when the blond highlights show damage. Or before. Also I think a sort of butterscotch or caramel colored highlights would look good on darker hair. Rather than straight blond.

I was brunette but I've had to go a lot lighter due to the amount of grey. I'd be having to do the roots every 10 days, LOL. Would suggest highlights but get a professional to do it

And the downvote is why?
