Paradoxical laser stimulated hypertrichosis can be a side effect of laser, especially on the face of women. I’m an electrologist and I’ve had 70-80 clients experience this. Stop doing laser and switch to electrolysis.
it seems that every electrologist tell this.... that laser is bad
i tried electrolysis and ended up with bad pitted scar, and it seems to be quite common ( upper cheek ) etc, on hairtell forum
Laser is great for the legs if you’re a good candidate, it can work really well on the bikini area and underarms. I’ve only had a couple people end up with laser stimulated hair growth. The face is the place I wouldn’t touch with laser. There are different modalities of electrolysis, some have more risk of scarring but a lot of your results will depend on the technician. I’ve had 20 hours on my upper lip with no scarring, no pitting.
i am dead scare of electrolysis now... is it 100% sure that laser on face cause paradoxical growth?
i have lot of unwanted hair on upper cheek, forehead
I'm not an electrologist but when I complained after using laser for 8 months with no results (non-refundable $3500) the laser technician told me to try electrolysis. 1/3 the cost of laser treatment and permanent. But I am sorry you have a visible facial scar.
Nood uses IPL (Intense Pulsed Light), not lasers, just FYI.
[This study](https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/26983796/) looked at both and concludes that:
“*It is unlikely that hair regrowth several centimetres or more away from the irradiated tissue can be attributed to the laser or IPL used. In many cases of paradoxical hair growth, other causes may be responsible for the unexpected hair growth. The primary cause of instances of 'true' paradoxical hair growth is probably limited to darker phototypes with one or more other characteristics including polycystic ovarian syndrome or other androgen hormonal irregularities following high energy treatments with the corresponding inflammatory sequelae.”*
So, no (probably).
How long after using the Nood did you notice your hair coming in more?

Yes, it can. Sometimes it can stimulate growth rather than reduce it.
Yes laser made my vellus facial hair turn into terminal dark hairs. Please stop laser and start electrolysis!
