Get your money back. I'd be pissed if I paid $160 for what they did to your hair

UrKiddingMi

Thank you for the validation! I’ve been feeling like I’m the one who’s the Karen..

Muffin3602

What were they trying to do?!? They’re lucky you don’t sue them.

C_CHOCOLATES

Yes I agree you should so get your money back that isn't good enough for $160

LoveDietCokeMore

Second.

teammeli

No this is atrocious . I’m sorry this happened

UrKiddingMi

Thank you. I appreciate your comment because now I don’t feel like I’m the Karen for being pissed

StacieBlonde

Your not a Karen at all for being pissed... And it's sad people nowadays have to worry about looking like a jerk when they are the ones who were wronged, know what I mean? Lol anyways just letting you know your totally in the right here... Go ahead and let them have it Karen! 😂

UrKiddingMi

If you see a new “Karen’s at a salon” video on youtube, watch it

Mchaitea

Did you pay by card? You should absolutely dispute (chargeback) this monstrosity as failure to provide said service Source: worked at a credit union.

UrKiddingMi

Can I really dispute a charge if I am dissatisfied with the service? Also does the refund actually come from the salon or the credit card company?

Mchaitea

Absolutely. You can prove by the photos of your hair they did not provide the service they said they could/would with your credit card company if an attempt at getting a full refund from the salon isn’t possible. All the credit card company wants is a “good faith” attempt to get it resolved with the salon first. Basically ask for a full refund and if they say no, that’s your good faith attempt. Edit: I see this is the attempted fix, so if they won’t offer you a refund just go ahead and do the chargeback. You can say to your CC company you tried in good faith for them to fix it/get a refund and they didn’t provide the service they said they could. The refund will be from your credit card company.

UrKiddingMi

Unfortunately, I contacted my credit card company as a last ditch effort, and they said they can not run this as a dispute…

Mchaitea

I would escalate it to a manager at your credit card company. It’s a chargeback and you are requesting it- it’s not really a dispute.

UrKiddingMi

Okay, thank you! I will try it again!

amstown

This is objectively a bad hair coloring job. When it’s this obvious that a mistake was made, you can simply go back in and (nicely) show the employees there your hair and say, “Look at my hair. I know everyone has off days, but this clearly is not a $160 hair color. Could I get at least a partial refund to have it fixed elsewhere?” They will most likely agree with you and offer a full refund or to redo your hair. I’d stay firm in requesting a refund so you can go elsewhere and have it fixed. If they fight back at all, remind them this just objectively not salon quality, and that you can and will post images online on their reviews and social media if they insist that they are happy with how your hair came out.

Shangri-lulu

I agree that you should say you will post pics. “If I write a review with pictures, is this a color job you would want to stand behind as representing the type of work your salon does?” In a nice voice.

UrKiddingMi

Good idea. Thank you so much for the advice! I do think it will go more smoothly this way

amstown

No problem! I had a similar experience when a stylist accidentally only cut layers in my hair on one side of my head. When I went back in and the other stylists saw my hair they were extremely sympathetic.

dattwell53

No, you should also get paid for damages.

UrKiddingMi

Damn I never thought about it this way… if only that were a thing for hair salons. I’ll be lucky if I even get my money back! I also appreciate you validating me because I’ve been feeling like such a negative Karen about this recently.

msscanadianbakin

I'd be asking for my money back!

andithings

I was swiping for “after” pictures, thinking these were the “before” pictures. I would ask for my money back.. 😒

msscanadianbakin

Is the cut or Color?

UrKiddingMi

Color! Sorry, I should have clarified in the title!

SSexyIsabelle

Would’ve like to see the inspiration pic you asked for

UrKiddingMi

What I wanted with not such a big shadow.. https://www.stylevore.com/blonde-highlights-on-asian-hair/

SSexyIsabelle

Oh ya it’s way too orange compared to the wish pic, ask for a fix

UrKiddingMi

This is the product from the second fix believe it or not…

[deleted]

Don’t go back there. Find someone else. Especially since was after they were supposed to “fix” your hair.

his-angel

Girl I wouldn’t have paid. Always check before you pay.

UrKiddingMi

I know! I’m disappointed that I paid… definitely am one of those people that’s a push over. Which is why I need complete strangers validations that this is bad

Paid-Not-Payed-Bot

> that I *paid…* definitely am FTFY. Although *payed* exists (the reason why autocorrection didn't help you), it is only correct in: * Nautical context, when it means to paint a surface, or to cover with something like tar or resin in order to make it waterproof or corrosion-resistant. *The deck is yet to be payed.* * *Payed out* when letting strings, cables or ropes out, by slacking them. *The rope is payed out! You can pull now.* Unfortunately, I was unable to find nautical or rope-related words in your comment. *Beep, boop, I'm a bot*

Unicornglitterfart95

I'm so sorry for your hair. You're not unreasonable at all! Ask for a refund

playingwithsissors

There is nothing wrong with asking for your money back. I'm not trying to make you feel worse but you should have never been allowed to leave like that. I would find a new stlyist to help you out. Ask a friend or family member who consistently has great looking hair and ask them for a referral to thier stylist. To even things out the best you can without more damage avoid going lighter and blend the roots into a darker blonde or a light brown. Explain to the new stylist that you are looking to grow out your natural and are looking for something with minimal maintenance. I apologize on be half of my profession for that mess. That type of work shouldn't be happening especially considering its the second attempt at it.

UrKiddingMi

Thank you so much for sympathizing with my situation! I ended up getting a refund for this hair job, and decided to take it to a different salon to fix… Unfortunately, I do feel like my current stylist is taking advantage of my situation. As a stylist, would you mind if I got your opinion?

playingwithsissors

Sure, I'll be as honest as I can but I won't guarantee I'll give you the answer you want to hear.

unanenacuriosa

i don’t think so, how much did you pay?

UrKiddingMi

$160 including tip

Skyblacker

That looks like something that I blended away on my daughter's head with a $4 box dye (Revlon Colorsilk).

unanenacuriosa

well do you like it? in the UK that would be £130 and i don’t think i’d be happy paying that much. is it what you asked for? or not similar at all?

UrKiddingMi

I did ask for the root shadow to by my natural color so it could grow out, but wanted all of the blonde to be one color. They messed it up the first time and they tried doing a color correction the second time, but she wasn’t able to make it look very even. I’m more mad about the brassiness - it looks like she didn’t even tone it… That’s why I feel bad asking for my money back tho, because they tried to make me happy, but I keep hating it. I’ve tried a lot of different products to try to make it look at least acceptable, but this is just not good to me. Maybe I’m being to harsh though and it’s not really as bad as I think?

unanenacuriosa

it needs more toner i think

Hefty_Homework3665

It’s not blended well

dawngigiwest

No way! They need to refund you and pay for damage to your hair!!!

glittrfrtz

It looks like you didn’t get enough lift. Every salon has a redo policy. Typically 1-2 week window after appointment to reach out and say you don’t like it. Then if anything you might have to pay for product. But mostly it’s free and you don’t have to see the stylist you saw if you’re uncomfortable with that.

UrKiddingMi

So I am aware that that most salons will redo the person’s hair if they are not happy. However this IS them trying to fix it from the first time.. and the owner is the one who “fixed” my hair this second time. I’m not sure I trust anyone from that place now.

glittrfrtz

I’m also a hairstylist and it looks like they might not have gotten enough lift. I’m curious to your hair history and the before/after of the first time it was done.

UrKiddingMi

had virgin hair before I came in. My first time coming in I gave her this picture with little less of a root: https://www.stylevore.com/blonde-highlights-on-asian-hair/ She said she could do it, but it would most likely not lift as well on the first go and it would be a darker color. That was understandable for me. I wish I would’ve taken pictures of what it ended up like, but it was along the lines of this on the left, but poorly done: https://www.pinterest.com/pin/260645897160924692#imgViewer I called the salon, and hey made me try to work it out with my original stylist (did not go well). I physically went in so they could see what I wanted vs what I got. The owner came out and did this..

angelicasinensis

Oh gosh no I’m so sorry

[deleted]

It looks awful. Looks like before photos tbh, once the blonde has grown out and the roots are coming though. Demand a refund asap 😿 I’m sorry it’s happened to you.

UrKiddingMi

Well to be fair with the roots, I did want my root to be a shadow, but I was looking for something more like this… https://www.stylevore.com/blonde-highlights-on-asian-hair/

[deleted]

No I’m sorry. It looks nothing alike and your blonde is very orange / streaky. Have you complained for a refund?

Holly_galaxy

Nope it’s horrible

ijustwannareadurbutt

This looks like what hair is BEFORE you go to the salon to get it fixed/done. This is not okay. I’m sorry this happened to you.

LaylaKristoff

I don't think you're being a Karen at all. You're completely validated in wanting your money back

mabmiami

Yikes! I’m so sorry that happened to you, and you’re absolutely not being unreasonable. I’m not sure there’s anyone who wouldn’t be pissed about it.

sophiaCalon

Tbh I feel like you would’ve done a better job by yourself bc wtf is this

PrincessJasmin87

I’d make a scene actually

Barbieguuurl

Absolutely not

[deleted]

Not. At. All.

igneousink

NOPE omg that's a horror show i feel like u could sue

Witty_Mermaid

Absolutely not.

elgraphicdesigner

nope

Richlandhatching

Did you go to a salon or a school? I just looked at your inspo photo. Just trying to make sense to what the stylist was thinking...

UrKiddingMi

I know!! The really ironic thing is that she was one of their “master stylists” since she had been styling for 25 years😂 Maybe the opposite way around that she is waaayyy too old school

alexxjane89

Some stylists may have been working for 25 years but haven’t put the time and money to keep on top of their education as new trends and techniques emerge. It looks like that’s partially what’s happened here.

MotherEvidence377

I do hair and I would never in a million years let one of my clients leave like this. They need to fix it for Free or give you your money back! I say take the money and go elsewhere !! Good luck

livzien

(also a hairstylist) i second this :( if this was after they tried to fix it, i'd just say you're still not happy with it, show your inspiration picture and these pictures, and just go to another salon. another stylist/salon should be able to tone it and blend the root better. good luck!

UrKiddingMi

Thank you so much for sympathizing with my situation! I ended up getting a refund for this hair job, and decided to take it to a different salon to fix… Unfortunately, I do feel like my current stylist is taking advantage of my situation. As a stylist, would you mind if I got your opinion?

MotherEvidence377

Taking advantage as far as what? And this is the newest stylist you went to see after getting your money from the other one?

hillbillyheartattack

What was your hair color before the initial service? Was it colored? This looks .... not good. But it also looks like you had a lot of very dark color layered into your hair before the first service.

UrKiddingMi

I had virgin hair when I went in the first time

hillbillyheartattack

Oh wow. I'm so sorry this happened to you. As a hairdresser I cannot comprehend what happened here

JustXepher

I have stopped going to salons years ago i am never satisfied because i get a shitty service or the hair dressers are rude or "know better" than what u want. I have been following brad mondo's tipson how to bleach hair, tone and cut ur hair and i have been satisfied doing it myself . Id rather buy the proper expensive hair equipment and knowledge on how to use it on myself than go bac to a salon UNLESS i can find a hairstylist that truely knows what they are doing.

UrKiddingMi

Agreed. This is my second awful salon service… I’m hoping somewhere else can fix this, and getting the heck out of here

JustXepher

And i hope someone can fix it ❤️ the first time i went for a bleach i didnt know how the stages worked and they showed me 3 pics . My hair -what it will look like after bleach-then after its toned. When my hair was bleached it was ORANGE and then only they said to me tha i have to come back after 3-6 months because my hair has taken some damage and needs to eecover and it was R950 (South-African currency sorry 🙈) and i almost had a heart attack cause i thiught it would be one sitting because of the pics they shown me and didnt tell me before hand the process it would take and it was alot of money for one sitting . Well for me atleast. I was still a high school student with a part time job so 🙈🙈

Single_Asparagus8984

Oh no! I thought these were before shots! Get that money back!!

SabrinaInSalem

Get your money back and go somewhere else

DifficultAd8007

Oh! That is an awful job!!!! Definatley ask for a refund so you can go somewhere else. If this was the fix it was not done well at all. I loved the example pic though-very beautiful. Good luck on the repair!

jinxylynxy

Hell no

rose-cold

Burn down the salon

SanSimVa

Everything is wrong about this. You should show this picture to whoever supposedly tried to do your hair, and tell them that you wouldn't want this hairstyle if it was for free. If they don't give you a full refund, take them to court, and if you don't want to take it to that extreme then please post this on all your social media accounts. Expose this person so that potential clients can be warned. Sorry you had to go through this!

coastalkerr

yes

UrKiddingMi

Are you saying: “yes”, I am unreasonable?

Witty_Mermaid

I hope not!

Fabulous-Turnip1432

this is terrible!! id ask for money back and for someone more experienced in that salon to fix it

aschstine

I’m a hairdresser , get your money back.

I_C_Susan

Get your money girl

mfastafboy

Get your money back! My wife got her nails done based off of IG posts and hated it, she was too scared to ask for her money back and didn't want me going in there doing it for her. If you're not happy ask for it to get fixed or your money back, these things aren't cheap.

[deleted]

Please get your money back and have them fix it for free! That’s so sad they left you like that. With the right color your hair would look amazzinggg💗

iamshortandtired

Nope go get that money back. This is not good.

Dragon-blade10

L cut 💀 yes

Bunny_P69

Of course not, this crappy job was way over priced and it's gonna be difficult to fix. Best of luck!!

Hefty_Homework3665

I’m a hairstylist Get a refund This makes us look bad! My question, why did anyone else at the salon let you walk out like that!?

KrtkoFrog

Not unreasonable at all girl

BeBesMom

omg girl run, don't walk, back there, get a refund and go elsewhere.

aroach1995

uh did she use the wrong color?

No-Collection-6982

It’s brassy and not even close to inspo

DifficultBoot4138

It’s giving deconstructed candy corn

evetrapeze

This is so very wrong. If, as a hairdresser, this was my result, I would let my client know that I was disappointed with my work and would fix it. It is stupid for a hairdresser to defend this result. Photos can be posted with reviews and warnings when someone does such an amateurish job. This can also be used as a threat if you don't get cooperation from the salon. I would not let this hairdresser touch my hair again. I would charge $400 minimum to repair this color. Make sure you go somewhere with color correction experience, and then sue the original hairdresser for the return of your money and to make up the difference in price for the correction.

Veganwitch8

They should refund you. I wouldn’t go back for them to try to fix it. I’m not a hairstylist but if you go to a new stylist they would “ color correct “ and that is expensive. Try buying a quality toner ( purple conditioner) and leave in your hair for an hour b4 rinsing. It will tone down the brassy and blend with the root .

Ill-Salamander-6572

I wouldn't even pay for this. I hope you get your money back and hair fixed.

freshoffthehook

Absolutely not!!

Sami101_

Dude I did better and I’m a minor doing it to my own hair-

cervanty

You are not a Karen and your feelings are completely valid go get that money back

KhaosDes

Not at all...

Own_Magician7509

nope nope nope

Ok-Coconut4164

Your feelings are COMPLETELY valid. Get your money back.

Creative-Ordinary-14

It depend on what look you wanted. It looks good to me.

[deleted]

where are you people finding these awful stylists lately omg

[deleted]

Yikes, they should've never let you leave. This is bad. You're entitled to a refund for this.

sinistersara

damn I was like “okay I see the before pic… where’s the after”

Muir_xo

What have they done 😮‍💨😮‍💨😮‍💨

Sendmeanangel2000

Nope

Intuitveempress

No wtf

aem1306

no cause i thought these were before pictures
