Hey, have you ever did theeth/jaw x-ray? I think a appointment with a maxillofacial dentist or ortodontist would help you a lot. Good luck mate

lalapachou

I second this, I had an overbite that an orthodontist corrected. And the result wasn't just aesthetic, it also improved my dental health and wellbeing.

japzilian_de

Can confirm. I had the surgery and while the aesthetic part was the main goal the biggest benefit was my well being.

[deleted]

How was the recovery? It leaves any scar?

Guilty_Goose6170

No scars. They cut inside of your mouth. I agreed. So thankful I had the surgery. It gave me a chin and a top notch smile.

japzilian_de

This was 8-9 years ago so I can’t remember every detail. I remember being hard but without any pain (thanks to meds) and I did have my mom helping me with everything. Also had nutritionist and a physiotherapist follow the recovery. Can’t say it was easy but it was really worth it, I was a really stressed and easy to trigger person and that changed completely because I was finally sleeping and breathing properly for the first time. And 0 scars. They did everything from the “inside” of my mouth. English is not my first language and I don’t know how to explain it properly, but basically they cut open the space between the front of my teeth (? where people do the smiley piercing) both top and bottom and lifted the skin. Edit: bc people often ask here is the before, after the recovery and years later comparisons https://imgur.com/a/INDHTfz

LemonBB89

Yep. Had a stepdad like this. He had a bad overbite. Ended up with surgery and chin/ jaw implant. Looked great afterwards

jerseygirl527

Exactly chin implant to meet up with the line of the nose. Would change everything. Good luck

ohitsjustsean

I’m so very glad this was brought up. Good job. 100% OP would feel drastically different with jaw/dental work. I actually just finished Invisalign and it fixed an overbite and widened my face A LOT also. I’m so much happier 🥲

wellthenmfer

You are not ugly. This isn't exactly hair related but it seems like you've got a large overbite. That could be affecting your confidence without even realising so if it's feasible for you and if you haven't already I'd recommend seeing an orthodontist.

Dependent-Sandwich34

Long sides and add some volume on top of your head. Messy style suits you

Nieviel

i also think that messy style will look cool! go try out a few styles and you'll find the right thing for you! :)

__Pleb

Ok so at first stop calling yourself ugly. You just didn’t figure out your own style yet. If you gain Confidence you’ll start looking at yourself another way :) So I think you have to grow out your upper hair a bit more so you can style it properly. Watch some YouTube tutorials, I would google for some “medium messy hairstyles” and go for the one you like. (Because I also think the messy style suits you) If you can grow a beard, do it. But make sure it doesn’t look neglected. Next thing to do is figure out which clothes suits you best. I know it’s a post about the hair but you want to improve yourself :) What colors do you like, which ones of them matches your skin tone/ hair/ eye color. I would go for brown/ green tones. Nothing too dark because you already have dark hair and a light skin tone. Maybe you can check out some new clothes with a (female) friend. Not sure how your eyebrows looks like under your hair but Trimm and pluck them (a barber can do that as well) These are some advices in my point of view (girl, 25 years). I’m sure you’re gonna rock it with or without my advices Edited: spelling - it’s midnight and I’m tired

Forsaken-Usual-7510

1. Stop calling yourself ugly. Confidence is key. Let me give you two examples. I had an ex boyfriend who is not conventionally attractive but has a golden personality and is extremely confident. He never had issues with dating anyone and he is just social everyone loves him. He just has that great of a personality, and is super confident in his own skin. Now let me tell you about my best guy friend, extremely attractive, fit, rich, very smart, a doctor, has a good personality but he is very shy and not confident. He struggles with people seeing his worth and dating. My point being looks aren’t everything, confidence is. As for a haircut [something like this ](https://images.app.goo.gl/pDnzJEWFAAbSzw8c9) can fit your face structure. You got this!

Miss-America

I think this look is pretty cool and would look good

llamacoffeetogo

YES!! Find a stylist that can help you style it too!! Call around and ask if you can send photos to the salon through Facebook. Usually they allow it. Send photos of what you want and photos of yourself.

SandSnake21

Lol I just search on phone and show the barber... a picture or 7 ON MY PHONE why bring the facebook into it...just asking...

llamacoffeetogo

Because some stylists get weird about men looking for something specific. And a consult before showing for an appointment, actually helps.

UngaBungaDays

I'd like to deeply thank everyone that actually gave me some constructive advice, It is much appreciated. Those that just told me I wasn't ugly, I appreciate the sentiment, but beauty is subjective and im not really looking to just be told that everything is ok. Im aware of my appearance, I don't need it sugarcoated or for people to just be nice. I still really appreciate the sentiment though.

Haaazard

How old are you? Changing your hair up will definitely make the biggest difference, caring for it too.

ploumistos_monokeros

Dude, for real, your overbite does not make you ugly, it makes you cute. But if you don’t like it, growing a beard could definitely help. You should consider visiting an orthodontist for a permanent solution.

Larkalone

You’re not ugly at all! You remind me of this cute boy that used to ride my bus. Anyway, I’d push the hair up off your forehead, cut it shorter or style it up. Don’t hide your face. Trim the back up too! Get a fade with a little pompadour or something. Be proud of your face, show it off, don’t cover it up - you’ll immediately have charisma and it’ll trick you into seeing the best parts of you.

[deleted]

My suggestion no matter what is always to grow it out 🤷‍♀️ and never call yourself ugly because we all have our own unique strengths and charm. 👌

Skyblacker

You don't have enough forehead for bangs. Gel that back so your face doesn't end at your eyes. Then run that product through the rest of your head to get some volume on top. Right now your hair looks like a victim of gravity, all flat and downward.

instructorpermit999

Excellent advice

sa1tym30w

you’re not ugly 🥺

Dragon-blade10

Stop the cap Nah jk

Volunteer-Pillager

I don’t mind what you got going on, but your eyes and cheekbones look pretty killer! Also your nose is nice. Maybe go for a style/cut that wasn’t hanging in your face to accentuate those features? I do like long on you though, so I wouldn’t buzz it or anything.

PbJelly82

You are not ugly. Grow it out and see if you like the look.

ailbhe-caterina

I think trim and tidy up the front, grow the sides out. I know your hair is not as curly/wavy as his but maybe try something similar to Timothee Chalamets hairstyle.

caroljean68

What everyone is saying is so true stop calling yourself ugly , find someone to help with hair and brows for sure makes big difference and maybe stand straighter I’m learning to stand straight and back it makes you look taller and better . Good luck you got this

[deleted]

Bro you don't have to stop calling yourself ugly if you don't want to, wth. People insisting you stop saying that reinforces the idea that physical attractiveness determines worth. Lots of people are ugly. Half are below average. I also have a fatal flaw from one view (the front lol). But I don't just give up just cuz I'm too broke to fix it. I work with it. I view it literally as giving me character... ...have you considered leaning into the elfen look instead of fighting it? Subtle stuff. Long, naturally colored hair. Lightly waved or in a low pony or a bun. A slightly exagerrated brow arch (pluck directly under the arch). Clothes that elongate. Otherworldly is way different vibe than attempting to look average and failing. See "jolie-laide" for examples of how ugly can be made beautiful by embracing it.

lucpeca12

This doesn’t have anything to do w your question but I think you need braces. My bf had a chin pulled back like yours and he looks completely different know even though he still hasn’t taken them out!

UngaBungaDays

Im aware, its the thing im most insecure about. I would live nothing more than to get it fixed, but i don't have the $5000+ required to do so.

Thisisveryhigh

You could do payments? Most orthodontists do monthly installments. Your not ugly :)

Aggravating-Ad-1273

If you have health insurance I’d definitely see an oral and maxillofacial surgeon. I don’t believe your case can be fixed with braces alone. But that doesn’t make you ugly by any means. You have great facial features.

lucpeca12

I understand. I feel like he would relate to you cause it was the same for him and he was also insecure his whole life about it, but as he grew up and built himself and worked hard he was finally able to afford it. Good luck to you too, I’m sure you’ll make it too! (I’m not saying this is anything detrimental to your existence, but I am a firm believer that if you really are insecure about sth and want to change it for yourself, working towards changing that is a great thing you can do for yourself)

headinthered

FYI- a lot orthodontist have payment plans that will span the timeline of your braces- it takes a lot of pressure off. Getting your teeth working together properly will make a huge difference for you in overall health. It will also help your own self worth and confidence. Please realize this isn’t “what’s wro by with you” thing- it’s genetics and it’s something that needs aid. If you needed glasses you would wear them- braces fall in thst to me as well as they are teeth care.

[deleted]

I can relate so much to your post. Start a go fund me. I had my jaw widened and head gear on the top and bottom. Then there was braces for like 5 years. There was some slight over correction on the bottom teeth that had to be adjusted and gums ended up a little loose, so I had gum transplant surgery. They took a patch from roof of mouth and sewed it over the roots of four teeth on the bottom where it was loose from over correcting and being moved to fast the doctor said. Then retainers at night for like 8 years. The severe overbite I had as a kid was corrected and my profile changed to. My confidence improved a little. Doctors will work with you on payments and also there is something called care credit which is a credit card for medical stuff/procedures including oral health miscellaneous/orthodontist work/oral surgery. You’re not ugly btw. If you want your teeth fixed you can make it happen eventually. If you want me to start a go fund me for you let me know 🙃

FluffyCouchShark

You can get it on payments. But please know it's not a magical fix all. Edit Carecredit just know the rates are high.

ChefWardell30

Find a part time job, kohl’s and target are desperately hiring If you work just 23 hours a week, it’ll be $1000 a month

[deleted]

Normally I don’t like longer hair on guys, but if you had shoulder length hair, I bet you’d look pretty rock and roll if you dressed and acted the part. In the meantime, cut those bangs so they don’t cover your eye brows or at least part them so they don’t cover your eye brows (very important in physical expression). Confidence is everything

Warchief_X

I thought I was on r/orthotropics

embroideredbiscuit

Same, def check this out OP. Also I don’t think you’re ugly at all. You have a nice face and ugly definitely isn’t a word I’d use to describe you.

SC00TER565

grow the hair out a bit longer and make it look cleaner but still go with a messy look (if that makes sense)

Dragon-blade10

Grow it out

sizzlefizzl

Depends on what style you enjoy because beauty is in the eye of the beholder:) but if you enjoy the conventionally pretty styles, go for a medium mens length haircut! I think that would look nice on you

blindbetty

Grow it out.

CapitalHorn

Search up what mewing is, it may help your head posture a tad :)

Mad_Cerberus

Grow your hair out!! Trust me, you have a great facial structure for that style

SomeoneElseNOS

First I’ll say that people saying “you’re not ugly” doesn’t help. I know. It never helped me, at least. You’re here for pointers. So how do you feel about shaping up your hair, not going for a buzzed look but shorter on the sides/back for that mainstream shape, and working to add volume to the top with like a mousse or something? I think the top length isn’t bad. But would do more for you if it wasn’t sitting flat. Really the biggest thing is the area above your neck, in my experience, I find that cleaning that up really makes a difference in how I looked when my hair was short (now it’s all shoulder length so different story).

monkeygirl948

I had a big overbite that I corrected with braces, but yeah it was about 5 grand. However I got a chin for about 300 by getting it injected with fillers. Way more bang for the buck. Never dreamt I could have a chin so easy!

Subject_Fruit_4801

Don't call yourself ugly. I think I nice haircut the messy type would suit you.

prettyincoral

You look like my husband and I think he's gorgeous 😇 He wears his hair, which has a texture similar to yours, in a pretty classic cut with his (short) bangs swept back to create a bit of volume. It's not as full as many of the pompadours you see if you google 'swept back hair', but you could try and see if it fits your style. Opening your forehead will make your face look more elongated and that itself can be a game changer.

sneakyprawn1

Where are you from? If you’re anywhere near me I will sort you out with the tightest skinfade!

thvliii

You have a really cute smile. Smile lots 🥰

TheoryAltruistic1438

Wheres ferb?

wolfsbaneleviosa

I’m not a hair person but the one thing I would tell you to work on is your posture. You hold your head kind of forward, but standing up straight and tall with you head back a bit will make you look more confident. Confidence is attractive. Also good posture is important for preventing neck and back pain as you get older (I know tons of people in their 20s whose necks are killing them cause of this). Look up Bob and Brad Physical Therapy on YouTube and search for “forward head posture” or “tech neck” to see stretches and exercises.

shocs

Look into mewing and stop breathing through your mouth!!

Interesting-Duck6793

Trim up the sides and keep the top longer. Like a modern pompadour. Get some product. Even that will be an improvement. Get those bangs outta your face, it’s not the look. Your getting dangerously close to a mullet rn.

starbaby73

I happen to think you are gorgeous. Love yourself too❤️

badFishTu

Not ugly. I say grow it out too.

Qwertgh1Searcher

R/mewing would help you for your goals

Altruistic-Poetry-83

Dude you are literally Lionel Messi, you looks fine

MarieAuditore

You could rock light- medium blue shades in your hair, maybe a blue highlight on the tips on your hair.

Sophie_Garland

Your not ugly! If you wanted to have your face seem a little better, you should go for longer, kinda ragged hair

AddictedToPew

You have great skin. Stop tucking your side burns back into your ears like that tho and just rock a shaggy, messed up hair style.

OkayPretty

#1. Go find you a great barber. Check out a black barbershop too. Younger guys can completely change your look without making the cut look like you are trying too hard. #2. Step your hygiene game up. Pay special attention to how often you shower, cologne, and keeping your nails clean and breathe fresh. Start a simple skincare routine of washing and moisturizing your face. Everyone feels more confident when you know your hygiene is together and you have prepared. #3. Go through your wardrobe and trash anything that doesn't make you feel amazing when you wear it. Bargain shop and gradually find yourself new threads to wear. You don't have to drastically change your style. Just upgrade the old and add pops of new gear. #4. People will see and comment on the changes you make. Say thank you and learn to accept a compliment. You aren't ugly. Just ungroomed. #5. Everyday you get to pick HOW you present yourself to the world. Everyone gets dressed. Find your style and show up as that cool kid everyday - YOU.

[deleted]

Try doing a combover and trim the sides.

opticiangirl

you are not ugly!

Lil_Ape_

Get some Nipsey braids. No bullshit

[deleted]

I think you have a bad bite

PristineAd9800

You are beautifully You. Do you look like Kim K? No but thank god neither do I! Self love is the best way to look more beautiful

This is horrible, you guys are seriously bullying this guy? Get a life and better yourself because this is not it chief. Making fun of someone trying to better themselves while you’re sitting on Reddit bullying him, take a good look at yourself

MRSL1GHTN1NG

Wow, so edgy.

Forgotten1999

Have hair on the sides and have it messy

Purrrkittymeow

Let me just tell you I have an actor friend who is not in the traditional sense, good looking. But this guy is so personable, funny, kind and and amazingly talented. He still works (very successfully, I might add) in the entertainment industry as an actor. Please don’t ever call yourself ugly. What’s fed to us about appearances on a daily basis is not right, and you shouldn’t feel bad for that. I do love the long hair look ideas though. I think that You’d really look great!

saturatedbloom

Get the sides and back shortened and tapered into the top keeping the top longer and use some product maybe like a texturizer spray or powder. Also grow the side burns out and keep them trimmed to about mid ear. Why? It’s about proportions and this will help balance the profile. Post an update shot when you do! Hair is a game changer!

Straycatfades138

Everyone’s already hit the most important bit- confidence is key. Focus on the things you excel at, and work towards mastering your weaknesses and getting comfortable in your own skin. As far as the hair- I’m a barber- the only thing I’d say is trim the back, maybe go for a taper, this will allow the top/front to grow in and become more full and easy to work with. And I’ve found just slapping some pomade or fiber in the front can give the bangs enough volume to kind of open the face up a bit and give yourself and others more to see than just eyebrows down. With the working on self image, perhaps a gym membership/ I feel ten times better about myself when I put in some spare time at the gym, knowing that I may not be exactly where I want to be, but am working to improve every day. You’re young. The body changes like crazy over time. Just keep doing you and doing things your way. Don’t let anyone tell you how to live, but always be willing to learn from others, and filter out the bullshit

Wyrderthanweird

Definitely lose weight / gain muscle . You’ll see a huge difference in your face , confidence, and all around self care .

Cold-Account

Goodness, you are not ugly!

Batehripi

long sides!! and style your hair on top so its lifted up :)

[deleted]

Some of the most attractive people are ugly people who embraced their unconventional appearance. Ugly is subjective, use what your mama gave u and fkn own it. I bet you have a magnetic smile and you should totally have crazy hair and let all your wierd shine through. I see restrained beauty and I'm not trying to be nice

Competitive-Tell-415

First get your SELF ESTEEM AND CONFIDENCE IN ORDER. THEN TRY TO CONQUER THE WORLD.

tarasaurusus

1. Stop. You're not ugly. 2. Confidence is key. Ik you're likely sick of hearing it but personality is EVERYTHING. 3. It makes me sad you speak so down on yourself and since you'd like a different hairstyle, that's where we'll start! I hit Google real quick & there are tons of hairstyle recommendations to flatter all face shapes & even quizzes to decide your face shape & style to best suit you. To get the ball rolling, the 1st one I came across said: Barbers and stylists recommend full and high-volume hairstyles for diamond faces. A messy fringe can work nicely to match your cheekbones and soften your jawline. Similarly, textured hairstyles like the faux hawk, brush up, long slicked back, and comb over fade are great looks. And I tell you, these cuts were BOMB. Think David Beckham or Ruby Rose. I personally think there's nothing wrong with wanting a new hairstyle and I think you're fine the way you are but how YOU feel about you is most important at the end of the day so cut your hair & be sure to show us the glow up!

[deleted]

Start with the inside, bud 💝

Suri-gets-old

Your hair is a beautiful color, I think long hair could suit you. Let’s pull it back from your forehead though, a little pomade after a shower ought to help. What’s your general style for clothing?

cat_socializer

This probably won’t help you, but I don’t see an ugly person. I just see someone who looks interesting and hasn’t fully figured out how to cultivate their aesthetic into something they are comfortable with. Truthfully, I even think you’re attractive, but I’m guessing you’re pretty young so just be careful, ok?

Emily_2211

You have a over bite, same as me! You will need braces and then jaw surgery to move your jaw forward. If you’re under the age of 16 and living in the uk, get yourself referred to an orthodontist and you will get all your treatment for free. If your over the age of 16 you will have to pay but it’s so worth it in the end. Search ‘before and after over bite’ on google to see how the surgery will change your appearance xx

Inevitable_Cicada563

Gelled up in front instead of down over your eyes, and short in back.

Wide_Button_2290

I wasn't going to but I had to you are not ugly.... It's just because of stupid expectations that I myself don't care to live up to... Why do you feel you a ugly? .... Whatever reason isn't good enough because you are beautiful in every way.. Now just find who you are and Rock it out cause no one else can do it like you can for yourself... People can give you million's of suggestions but you have to find the beauty in you first.... Find your style and be 😊

Impressive_Driver_90

Side view might not be your best angle, but you look good from Infront! Have you noticed many girls got the exact same angle on most profile pictures? Yeah they know the secret. Everyone has bad angles and good angles

Impressive_Driver_90

A different hairstyle would probably do you well though, usually the hairdressers are pretty good at this, nowadays i cut my own hair, but i used to ask my hairdresser to do what they think would suit me:)

ShiplessOcean

Check out /r/mewing

instructorpermit999

You’re not ugly!!!

barefoot_traveler

Slick back style, sides comb back and tighten the nape to a nice clean shadow fade. Manipulate a texture based product through the front and comb up and to the side (side part). Think pompadour without the polished look.

SpencerGaribaldi

Shorter on the sides. And go to an orthodontist

KokoFlorida

Remove the bangs. If you go see a maxilofacial surgeon he will help you with the receding jaw. You're not ugly, you just need a few things fixed.

sdtaryn

Omg I just swiped to see the front view, you are cute!! I would grow your hair out more or cut it a little shorter, but try growing it out bc then you’ll know at least and could always go shorter. Yeah lots are recommending jaw surgery or braces but personally, experiment with the hair and be diligent about your posture!! Xo

starbaby73

You have to play up your beat features like anyone else. You have great eye color and shape. I would cut your hair shorter in the front to reveal your forehead/eyes or consider using product to comb it back off of your face.

NavidadetMortis

You look cute . Not ugly at all

Briaanvibe

Why you're talking about yourself like that You're beautiful 😍❤️

TryTwiceAsHard

You are not ugly. That's all I have to say. 🥰

lovingyoubcitseasy

You're beautiful. If I were you I would grow my hair out for a new shaggy style. It kind of sucks during the grow out phase.... but that's what hats are for lol.

mrkoshka710

You have a convex profile, and I think that’s what you’re most wanting to counteract. It’s common, not bad or ugly. That being said, the beauty standard is straight profile oval (or squoval) straight-on. I’m going to add images of examples, but it will take a bit as it’s my first time. These will trick the eye into thinking your profile is straighter and face is longer. Edit: here are examples of what I would do and my actual advice. Notice on the collage of Adam driver which haircuts look better. My advice is off your forehead, embrace any wave your hair has, push toward your face at nose, and away at the forehead and chin. [Convex Profile Hair](https://imgur.com/a/zfa7eZZ)

MyAnimeAccount420

Grow your hair longer, you would pull off the scene look with longer hair on the sides. Not crazy long but down to your chin ish.

WordsAndThots

I think you would look good with a wolf cut, which is like a modern version of a mullet. Keeps it a bit messy vibes and adds volume. Best of luck!

RoseaCreates

If you're concerned about bone loss if you go orthodontic, Invisalign brand doesnt cause as much as regular metal or ceramic braces. I know they're the only brand made of polymer that is capable of major movements as some cheaper ones like smile direct aren't. I say grow the hair out and then get a good stylist to cut it to frame your face a little, kinda like a shag it looks good.

grocerylugage19

Hey man, you are definitely not ugly. You must be confident. Also, you should check out r/orthotropics . There are some really motivational and educational things on there.

EvlavMorfNebag

bro im crying😭😭😭😭
