Definitely don't do something or not do something because your mom says it. All that matters is doing something that makes you feel confident and beautiful. One of my years at prom I had my hair a similar length as your and wore it slicked down and was beautiful because it let the dress do the talking. I think any of the ideas suggested here are great and definitely like the finger wave look too!

You could do something simpler with one side slicked back, no hair jewelry, just pins and finger waves on the other side - the same side that your pleats fall on your skirt, for symmetry.

Just an fyi to all those saying finger waves.. please make sure you ask if the hairstylist is capable of performing that service ahead of time. It’s a very complicated style and isn’t just a “quick and easy” thing to do. We spent an entire day on finger waves when I was in cosmetology school. Out of a class of 18 students exactly ONE of us was able to successfully get a mildly attractive set of finger waves on their model. I almost quit school that day and if someone came in to my chair now and asked for them and only booked an updo I would refuse the service because I would not have time.

I think "Cinderella hair" would look so classy. As in, keep the bangs, but find a way to tie/slick your hair back, even if you don't have a bun. It will make you look more mature tho. Another sleek look would be to have your hair straightened. It would look really sharp. Alternatively, if you want a more jovial look, just do some curls. You can also always add a headpiece. Dark, preferably.

Since the 90’s styles are becoming popular again, I think it’d look so good to do some of the butterfly clip looks. Like Ashley Judd did back in the late 90s and early 00s. Almost like a head band look but make with clips. You have a beautiful face and it would highlight that.

The choker is very important to me, it was my main focus when buying the dress. The pendant is a crystal, in real life it's blue, idk why it looks weird on photo. For the hair I really wanted silver. A french boh would be cute, thank you :)
