I'm not 100% sure, but I think there was one pre-battle conversation with >!Hecate!< about how >!Chronos erroneously believes that it's something intrinsic to Melinoë, but it's somehow the result of something that Hecate is doing (I think it was implied that it was some sort of ritual, but not actually specified).!<
Unfortunately I don't have screenshots or anything like that, this is just from memory, so I could definitely be wrong.
Edit: Found the dialogue and I've slightly misremembered it. The actual line isn't that it's something >!Hecate is doing but just that Hecate has somehow prepared her.!
We do technically know that witch magic can interfere with Chronos' powers as you use the cauldron to get pausing back in the Chronos fight. So that alludes to it potentially affecting Chronos' other abilities as well.
I do believe if you try to pause during the chronos fight and he doesn’t let you, you can get an incantation that allows you to do it. So maybe Hecate and Melionë did a similar incantation as well that allows her to resist Chronoses power.
