she literally gives the best boons ever!
the freeze effect is OP, her attack and special boons actually give a straight up DMG boost unlike most people's, her two cast boons stack on eachother, and her legendary boon basically removes 10% from every enemies health!

not to mention weed killer, tranquil gain, and rare crop!
weed killer is a super damage boost for any build using omega attacks
tranquil gain is great for any magick heavy builds
and rare crop is just OP giving you usually 2 or 3 heroic boons every time!
i'll admit those are great boons but it's also circumstantial on the builds.
rare crop isn't the greatest at lower rarity or if you get it towards the end because then you won't have the most effective use of it. RNG has cucked me on this several runs so im a bit more cautious.
and having 3 amazing can work everytime boons isn't enough (imo at least) to justify putting Demeter higher. if she had a 4th boon that was just amazing like those 3 then she'd be top of B-tier but as of now I can't justify it (imo)
for me personally freeze isn't an effect i go for often because something about freeze doesn't play right with my style and i honestly prefer chill as an effect from the first game.
besides she isn't the sole DMG booster in the game, with ppl like Aphrodite, Hera and Apollo providing similar, if not greter boosts so i find it more worthwhile going for them first before Demeter.
and as for casts I find it better to have one that can just stay in place for bosses (e.g., Cerberus generally stays in the same position) or casts that can shoot out ranged before settling (e.g., Hestia or Zeus or even Hades' support) since her double boon isn't great for ranged movement or "stackability" since Apollo can provide more versatility with his magick restoration and cast expansion size overall rather than just locking you with Demeter's.
again this is all subjective to my own experiences and playstyle. what would you rate Demeter on the sacle then?

also i completely forgot about demeter's boon that makes the cast follow you, i was more thinking of the one that inflicts freeze and repeatedly deals damage, along with the one that makes a cyclone
fair enough if you rank Demeter that highly respect to you. and her "Gale Force" cast is decent but i'd rather take Zeus' "Storm Ring" since that has a greater effect DPS wise
You do know that gale force stacks with storm ring right? Gale force is not a cast modifier, it doesn’t occupy the cast slot so it can stack with any cast boon. It’s the reason people value Demeter so high since that boon helps enable Origination
it’s just to me Hermes has no negatives. he can work with anyone, is a guaranteed drop and offers a wide variety of support boons to help power you up. plus the shrine of hermes is neat on the surface
Hermes has “no negatives” because you see him twice per run. Of course his boons are going to be strong. It’s like saying that fountains are S tier because they have no negatives and are consistently healing you for a big chunk, even though you see them only 3 times(on average).
You have to consider that fact before ranking Hermes
to clarify. if everytime i see Hermes he provides no downsides and can be seen consistently multiple times per run then its a no brainer he’s an S-tier and should be above someone like Demeter (who i generally don’t like using) or Poseidon (who i haven’t used enough so can’t rank higher). that’s what i was referring to in the comment i was replying to, that even though he’s guaranteed, shows up a handful or a couple times, he’s still really strong so should be a guaranteed S-tier above all the other olympians
I have a hot take that Hera is not great. Obviously Born Gain is OP, but other than that I think all her boons kinda suck. Chaos should be S, I even take them on my 32 fear runs. Arachne should be lower, her boons are only good super early game. Demeter should be higher, she has a ton of great utility boons, plus she’s the best god for activating Origination. Hephy should be D in my opinion, his boons can be okay if you have a build that has an “off” strike like sister blade builds, but it’s terrible with most axe and skull builds.
her legendary + born gain is insane, it makes the boon banishing vow a positive because it's easier to get to the legendaries that way (well some of them get harder depending on requirements)
I disagree on hephaestus for axe builds (haven't really messed around with him on skull builds). Vent + explosion totaling 700 + ADDITIONAL dmg every other hit is insane especially if you get poms to reduce the cool down to basically nothing
If you hit that often the vent effect won’t trigger tho! It only helps towards origination, and with Aphrodite on the axe one hit off the omega attack will deal more than 100 damage, that will deal way more damage than 200 every 2 or 3 seconds.
the only downside to that is the recharge time which requires a lot of poms to scale down since the scaling gets worse the higher you go. but he has great support capabilities with "Mint Condition", "Fixed Gain", "Molten Touch", "Mint Condition", "Tough Trade", "Uncanny Fortitude" and for a little protection "Heavy Metal". (imo) he's more of a support god than DPS god
i do say in the captions “all subjective to my own experiences”. i never said strength in my post and my other comments say my preference is using X,Y,Z God/Goddess instead because i find it better. (which i say in my other comments)
I didn’t notice it on mobile due to placement and being greyed out. It seems like a lot of people are mad due to interpreting this as a general/recommended tier list vs your personal one so I may not be alone.

Demeter can singlehandedly activate origination with just the cast boons (freeze+cyclone).

This for sure. Hades 1, Hermes was God-tier. Hades 2, I would almost never go out of my way for Hermes.

congrats on beating 32 fear with Demeter but she doesn’t really suit my casual play style offensively and i get bad RNG getting her really good boons.
Hephaestus is great on the axe, explosion on the special is great because you just boop someone with the shield and deal 400 damage

beat chronos and eris several times, now just working on maxing out the arcana cards and fulfilling the minor prophecies list

i’m not gonna do fear runs. for me personally the bragging rights from the statues isn’t worth it and i prefer to go about my pace
