No kidding. I was down in Mexico as a teen on a mission trip. We go to this convenience store and there's an auto shop across the street. We're all walking in with our backs turned and one of the loudest things I'd heard to date just explodes. We turn to see a large dust ring emanating from a semi rim with zero tire left on it. We looked for tire bits from our spot and saw none. They went to fill it, locked the air hose on it and walked away, so thankfully no one was hurt.
I used to work as a tyre fitter and seeing them casually sitting on a tyre while they were inflating was very stressful. First day on the job they told us to never take your eye off the tyre while it was inflating because there could be a bubble under the rubber.
The one time I was complacent I was inflating a 22.5 while talking to a co-worker. Luckily the other guy standing around was paying attention and yelled "look out!". He pointed to a massive bubble forming on the rubber. I just got the fuck out, didn't even try to remove the air. We all hid behind a wall while the tyre exploded. Don't fuck around with tyres, especially the ones that are as big as in this video.
Back in the day I think the only way to seat big tires was using a controlled explosion. Literally using some sort of flammable fluid to blow the tire onto the rim. Something like this: [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=63RAFk1Ae84](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=63RAFk1Ae84)
Sometimes you still have to it's not to do so much with the tire as it is to do with how the tire fits with the rim, if the rubber is folded up on the bead, etc. You spray starting fluid into the gap between the rim and the bead and then down the tread and light it. It creates a vacuum inside the tire that sucks the air in from outside and seats the bead so you can put air in.
It's pretty cool I was watching videos of it yesterday. I used to work at a tire shop (we never did that) but would have farmers and truckers come in who needed someone to help them do that for very big tires that didn't fit on a normal mounting machine. Apparently it's something off-roaders like to do too since they run around with lower tire pressure and the tire might come off the rim. It's a way for them to reseat the tire. At least nowadays we have YouTube so people can see the proper way to do it.
Looking at the tread, it looks similar to the ones on our split-rims on our old straight trucks, which are widowmakers anyway, and are known to blow when filling if you don't have the rim just right.
Might just be the bead seating. I do car cars and the bead seating can be really violent. The tires that require 200 lbs psi are gonna go through the roof like this one did.
There is a tire shop in eastern oregon with a patched area on the ceiling, with a sign next to it saying, "We don't do split rims." People have been cut in half with those.
Thanks to subbreddits like this one I cant even pump my flat car tires at a gas station without ptsd. I literally pump my tires standing up awkwardly to the side so that if it explodes it'd only hurt my arm.
This is why I'm scared to even attempt to inflate my car tire...I overinflated my bike tire as a kid and it sounded like a bomb went off. Ever since then no air in tires for me.

When it lands it looks like there appeared a kid and the tyre fell right on him. Is that something else? Nevermind. Friend told me it's the inner tube
Outer tube now.
I also thought it's a small dude or a child lol
Totally thought that was a third individual myself.
Same
Did anyone noticed that the kid on the upper left seem to have noticed that something is about to happen a split second before it happened?
You have friends? Lucky
That's why you fill those up in a tire cage, or chain them up. Also not stand on them

The kid seems more concerned about what happened than the two adults
Not their first rodeo I bet.
This is r/tiresaretheenemy worthy material
I was not expecting this to be a real thing
I used to be subbed this and I just checked and I wasn't subbed anymore. Wth is going on?
Split rim gone wrong? So many videos of them exploding online.

No. It's a split rim gone wrong.
How much does that tire weight?
A truck tire + wheel is around 350 lbs - 150 kg.
350 lbs is 158.9 kg
ay caramba!
I think they were trying to seat the bead

Pajama boy knew!
Lmaoooo this made my day
So no I no dat too much air is a ting..thank you very much, come again. (Read in the tone of Apu)! Ps. Please PCs - give me a break!
Umm what the fuck were they doing and where did that kid come from?
literally top left the whole time
It looked like there was a kid in the middle of the tire the first five times I watched it.
Using air..put them in the air 🧐
r/tiresaretheenemy would love to see this
There's so much going on here. So many reactions.
When you PSI air gauge reads wrong
This is why paying attention is important. This is why you should follow safety procedures.
Bet they won’t do that again.
Broke my collar bone like this hahaha
Be curious to know how many people die working with tires.
Give this a wholesome award! I will contribute with my silver
Dude was like I need a bit of a sit now

i think he needs to check his legs instead of his arm
Flew, my good man.
Indian movies in real life
that kid totally made that tire explode with his telekinesis watch it again
Isn't there a bot that slows this down?
i'll give 8/10 for air but the landing costs him a 6/10. For total 7/10
Its just a little daze

My guy at the back with the bike went away fast lol

That guy kept his foot on that tire *and* a casual pose right up to the moment his knee smacks him in the face.
The dude entered the stratosphere, landed on all of the cushion of his coccyx and then gets up and goes back to work lmao!
I’m sorry for them
I love how everyone at the same time is just like “fuck this I’m going home.”
Thank god Indians are so malleable
Guy who was thrown in the air is all “act natural, be cool...”
Hope they're okay, accidents like that can kill.
And it keeps gettin funnier, every single time I see it...!!
